How long did you stay before you left? I've been here a few months and beginning to wonder if I should cut my losses now or just give it a little more time to try to build up my production. Still haven't met quota for benefits after 3 months.

very mismanaged. They manager is extremely demeaning and rude when she is not having a good day. There are so many other places out there that will treat you better. I mean this in all honesty.

It was horrid! The transcription manager was so demeaning and extremely unprofessional. They micro manage, and my lines never seemed to be correct. The manager would YELL at people both over the phone and in her office with her door open (when I was training in-house). Just my experience, but there are many better places. I am at Webmedx now, and the two companies could not be any different. Good luck!!
I worked for SS and some people were very RUDE and I am talking about the editing people in some
instances. It ALL depends on the person, as it does with any company. They paid on time and the lady over me was very nice, but boy the person in QA was mean to EVERYONE!! Never seen anything like it before.

I know a handful of people who have worked at Spheris and they all left for the same exact reason - they could never make the impossible line count (apparently it is rather high) and they also couldn't make any money (the pay isn't great either). Spheris seems to be willing to hire MTs without experience, so it is probably a good place to start so you can have something on your resume. Don't expect to learn much though, as quality does not seem exist at Spheris or is at best random.
Spheris is a very large company, and a perfect example of a case where bigger is not better. They are heavy into India - they took an account away from my company and sent it right over to India.
Probably the only people making any money at Spheris are in management.

I worked there a few months ago. People very
nice, but disorganized. Kept losing my work. Sound files were really bad, only worked on one account so it could have been just that account. Platform so/so, but looking at upgrading within the year and I don't know what platform.
They are a fairly small company, I think less than 50 MTs.

I just could not make their minimum and found platform to be cumbersome - but it may have just been me.

They do have a thing where you have to get a paper check for the first 90 days, then you can have direct deposit. The account that I was on used ExText.

By chance, are these people calling "non-Americans" I worked for a company
who shall remain nameless but their supervisors were in India and would IM me constantly to do a STAT. Even though, I would try tellin them I was not working that day or that I was going somewhere. They continued to ask. It was bizarre. I kept think, what part of English DONT you understand..NO..I thought meant the same everywhere. They are just the only poeple I have dealt with that just doesnt comprehend rejection of any sort, but that's just me.

That was a long time ago, though, and things could have changed. If I remember, they paid decent wages.

and pay was okay. You had to wait 90 days to get direct deposit, and until then checks were mailed, which is a bit of pain, but they were always on time. I didn't care that much for my account, but the leader was always quite helpful. They must be a bit disorganized, though, as I still get messages from the help desk to help out, and I have been gone at least 3 months! And the help desk is apparently in India, if that makes any difference to you.

Okay, I've checked the archives on this company and I am coming up with both good and bad. They've offered me a job and the pay is more than anybody else has offered. What does anybody know about their internet-based platform called Med Write (spelling?) XL? Please tell me what you know and help me make an informed decision. Thanks to you all for your input.

I worked for them for a short time and it was awful. The accounts were not as wonderful as they made them out to be and if you don't do exactly what they ask, they get nasty with you. I say keep looking.

Well, I have been here a few months and I honestly love it. Everyone is helpful and yes they are a bit picky, but it has been a great learning experience. Yes, work is slow in the beginning on the 5-report system, but it worked out great for me. To each her own ...

So, do they harrass you about not meeting quota? I really don't need benefits, but they did offer me a nice line rate. I know a few folks who are working there and are pretty happy. I just don't want to be constantly harrassed (I can stay at MQ for that :-)

Pays great if you can tolerate the *itchy office staff. Worked for them and left because of how they treat the people working for them. Too many Other great companies out there. Good luck!

It is extremely flexible. You submit a schedule to them weekly marking what times you will be working. You can work anytime of day/night/whatever. Full-time requirement is 12,000 payperiod (2 weeks). Not sure about part-time. They higher newbies and they pay is pretty good.

Great company. Good pay, good QA, pay always on time. MedRite is easy to use, ESLs depend on the account, but not a high % of ESLs.

Most of the accounts use Med Rite, easy platform, QA is good, they expect good work-2 weeks of paid training if needed, decent benefits, good company overall.

I worked for them. They have HORRID communication and don't treat emplyees well. Feedback is all but ZERO. There are better copmanies out there...

Cannot speak from experience, but just heard from 6 MT friends they are all promises until you are hired........then very, very rude, if not down right nasty!

I have worked there well over a year - never a late paycheck. It's always in the bank shortly after midnight on payday.
I haven't found the perfect place to work, but Meridian is quite good.

I'm there, I'm glad I'm there, I can make good money, I have a flexible schedule, my managers are wonderful, QA is great, pay is always on time. I've heard the stories about the manager. I had one instance where she was rude to me, but that has been worked out. The tech guy is iffie, too. He knows his business, but sometimes he can be difficult to work with. On the other hand, he can usually fix whatever it is that needs to be fixed. There is no place that has 100% satisfied employees, but I'm satisfied and I'm happy. If you know your job and do what you are supposed to, it can be a great place to work.

I have been with Meridian 3 years. I am always busy, get paid on time, good account, vacation. I don't use their insurance, so I cannot comment on it. The tech guy is a bit of a pain, but don't have to deal with him too often.

I currently work there and would recommend them. They offer great flexibility in scheduling. However, there is not a lot of communication between staff and MTs. They don't really provide any training, so if you are a new grad, I'd look elsewhere. QA staff are very nice.

I worked there and they put me on 2 accounts immediately, not good accounts and the QA was terrible. Also they didnt pay me for my last check. Not good company at all...

I have worked for them for about 6 months now and I love them. Great people to work with. QA staff really nice and helpful. Good pay and direct deposit always in on time. Great accounts also. Flexible shifts, just meet line counts. I think you would like it there.

After having tested and interviewed, told I would start ASAP, two months later they finally got me started. They call you if you are two minutes late logging in, they take their time answering any questions. The sound quality on the account I was on was horrible, the dictators are horrible and the QA was never the same twice. I'd stay away if I were you.

It is the Meridian Healthcare in Indianapolis area. Yes, it WAS a fairly local acocunt. Yes, it is now gone. Yes, the boss was a real witch to me when I had been a great employee with great QA scores for over 3 years.

Meridian Healthcare used to be PTS. I worked for PTS, and we ran out of work a lot. There was very poor communication when I was there. When work was low, manager wouldn't respond to emails or voice mail.
