allow the 10 or 12 hr flex schedule, some accounts do not. It's worth asking.

flexibility??? depends on the manager
The owner prides himself on flexibility and not requiring set days and hours.
One manager hounds people to work set days, set hours...not a minute earlier, not a minute later. She also hounds people to have their AOL IM functioning during the shift she set for them and gets nasty if it is not on or if they do not see it flashing when she messages them for some trivial matter.
It is unclear why the owner allows this manager to hound people and be nasty to his employees/ICs, but he does.
Strict on the days. It depends on the account as to the flexibility. nm

That really depends on your acct, even now. nm

Depends on your acct - sm
I have 12-hr window to get in 8 hour shift but I know others on accounts that require stricter schedules. Flex hours are pretty much okay here.
Don't you think it depends on which acct you are assigned to?
I have a couple accts but don't know if either is the notorious one that supposedly has all the demo screen work. One acct I have is definitely more involved in demos than the other, but overall not so bad. Just wondering if it's a case of which one you are stuck with? Just trying to think of some ideas of why some like it and some hate it. Also depends what you are used to before working for Amphion, since you can't help but compare it.
I think it depends on your primary acct; sm
I've noticed some STMs give more leeway regarding shift windows, and usually it is based on turnaround time for your particular primary account. I think I would approach my STM again and ask more specifically, Why does STM X say this and you say something else? Probably you would get a clearer answer. It never hurts to ask.
12-hr flex for me too; definitely depends on your acct. sm
Average pay, nice bonus structure, good benefits. I like the platform and the people.
depends on acct. Some Lanier, some dictaphone, i.e. Transnet nm

It depends on which account your on. If you WANT to be on an acct with a C-phone, there is plenty
but, if you like, AND were hired for internet-based, you will be disappointed. Just goes to show that there are two sides to everything. Some people love it and some people hate it.. personally, I have chosen to work for a company that everyone is happy being at and you cannot find one single bad post about them. I have figured out.. that is a for a reason. When you see even one bad post, you should at least look into it further. I thought that people who complained were just ex-disgruntled MTs but soon found out for myself what they were trying to say so I say, go ahead and try it out yourself and decide.
Your line rate depends on what acct you are hired for - sm
the difficulty of the acct dictates your line rate; PT vs FT doesn't really matter. Acute care varies from 8-9.5 CPL, plus production (bonus) incentives and shift differential.
When you first start, 100% of your work goes to QA until you are released on that acct. Afterwards it seems to depend on the acct as to how often you are reviewed. 98% or above is required but there is a detailed policy about mentoring, etc, posted for us to review.
Yes, you have access to older reports by doctor or by patient in real-time, as well as samples posted for reference on the community page.

My acct mgr sent an update this morning stating a large acct sm
starting next week; another in 2 more weeks; another in early October; and another in November. This is just a normal end of summer / holiday slowdown. I'm sure other posters on this board are also out of work due to the same circumstances.
Give it a whirl. I WAS on that same acct, same pay. Asked and got put on an acct just as bad, so I

How was your acct at Amphion? I have a HORRIBLE acct...
I am new to Amphion and have this account that has a lot of account specifics, no automatic ADT (which means I have to search for the names, etc) which is not a problem for me, but there is one dictator who is ALWAYS awful, and I have been getting him back to back to back my first week with Amphion. Did you find that you basically only had 1 or 2 dictators while there or did you have more? Of course, I would not mind doing him occasionally but can't do this all day. I will never be able to make any money, especially at the line rate that I am being paid. I have 2 children of my own and 3 of my sister's children in my care. I cannot afford to do this everyday and don't know what to do. I work as an IC for another company making 9 cents a line, which is much more than Amphion, but really wanted employee status so was willing to make a little less, but I am afraid it is not going to work. I do not want to have to find yet another company and start all over with them to only find out that they suck too. Any suggestions?
I've easily done 600, but it depends on the way a company counts lines and it depends on the
dictators. Obviously, if you have a good share of ESL, there is no way you could ever do 600 or 700. On really difficult ones, I usually run around 400 lines an hour and I have been working on this platform for 3 years.
Re: Flexibility
When you first start, they will ask that you pick a schedule that you will be working (your choice). If you need to change that schedule outside of one hour, then they ask that you just let them know so they can see if they need to find coverage or not. They are very good about changes in your schedule if you need it.
Flexibility
Thank you both. I was pretty much trying to figure out what they referred to as flexible.
Flexibility
They are about the only company out there that is still run by HUMANS! They will work with you, whatever your needs are.
flexibility
You must request your flexible schedule prior to accepting the position and then get it in writing, for your protection.
Flexibility
MDI-FL is flexible with scheduling. I have been here four years and am still raising children and it has been great to have the flexibility!
flexibility
eMTS is very flexible. I am not IC though.
Flexibility
DSG is a great company that just put up an ad today! They hire looking mostly for production versus specific, strict time of day schedules. As long as you are meeting your production they are great!
flexibility
Can you explain their flexibility? Do you pick a schedule? Do you have a time frame in which to complete your work? Thanks!
flexibility
but the pay - that sounds below average - 9-11 cpl is more like it - if not more. But for flexibility and plenty of work - I would work for less - especially if I could work on the same accounts all the time and have plenty of work - I would be interested to hear from others, as well on this company.
Flexibility
That's what some of the companies in transcription out there are lacking. I work for a hospital that has the same 12-hour period. We can clock in 4 separate times in a day. It's heaven! First shift starts at a certain time, second shift and third shift, but it's amazing how we can keep everything covered - guess it's because we're happy!
Flexibility
I work for Futurenet and they are very flexible. Nice people. Pay always on time.
40 hrs for FT, I have no flexibility, SM
Enterprise or Chartmatrix are the platforms, for me running out of work happens at least once a week and I have 5 accounts. In past couple of days I've seen posts that they are using some other MTSO to do work for them so that's where some of the work is going.
Flexibility
At MDI we submit and set our own schedule 2 months at a time, having to commit to 2 weekend days a month.....do you do this at Transcend?
Amphion flexibility?
Can anyone who actually works for Amphion tell me if there is much flexibility in your schedule. I know they require you to submit a schedule, just wondering how flexible within that time frame they are. Thanks.
Flexibility as an employee
Can anyone recommend a good company to work for who will allow their employees to have a very flexible schedule? I have two children and I have to work a schedule which works around their school schedule and after school activities. I also would like to have some time for myself and be able to participate in the gym or going out with friends and my family. I want to put in my 8 hours a day and am willing to work on the weekends.
Flexibility at Diskriter
I have been offered a position with Diskriter. The recruiter told me when I speak with my supervisor, I could have a flexible schedule. Just how flexible is Diskriter? Also, do they have 12 to 12 shift, where you can work 8 hours in 12 hours? I speak with my supervisor this Wednesday and just wanted to get the heads up. Thanks
here is the scoop on flexibility with DSK
I worked for them and was told I could have flexibility. This is no lie, I would run out to the mailbox to get the mail, or maybe get interrupted with a phone call - probably no more than 10 minutes away from the computer - AND I WOULD GET A PHONE CALL FROM Diskriter ASKING WHERE ARE YOU? ARE YOU ON BREAK? YOU NEED TO LET US KNOW WHEN YOU ARE TAKING A BREAK OR GOING OFF TO LUNCH.
When I took my lunch break, my phone would ring if I was over 30 minutes. I felt like big brother was always watching.
Maybe it wasn't that way with everybody, but I never ever deserved that kind of monitoring for any job I had. The sad part was that when I worked for them there were times I would not have any work whatsoever, but was told not to leave my house in case work flowed into my que. One day, I sat for three hours on a Saturday morning because they insisted we do overtime, and I did not get my first job until 10:40 a.m. THREE HOURS ON A SATURDAY. I can still recall that day - I made $17.00 for an 8 hour shift. I quit shortly after that.
Flexibility - They great with it
I have never seen a company as generous with flexibility. If I need to run to school for the kids and make up time later, all I need to do is email and let them know. If I need to switch days or hours because of anything, I have only been denied that 1 time because there were too many people off sick and it wasn't for something I had to do, just for more free time in that day.
As for the person who said they called and asked where she was; I am sorry but they are too busy doing other things to be watching over your shoulder, I doubt this occurred. If it did, perhaps you had extremely low line counts and they were just trying to account for if you were really at your computer making an effort or if you were taking off on the clock and not actually working your scheduled hours, if you are supposed to be working, you should be THIS IS A JOB and just because we work from home doesn't mean we can come and go as we please (unless it has been approved, which they are ready and willing to do).
Diskriter is the only company I have found that realizes being flexible makes for happier MTs, which makes for more productive MTs.
Good luck and glad to have you join us.
Sorry.. I mean FLEXIBLE.. not flexibility
nm
The best company with flexibility and
pretty much everything else! You will be happy!
Looking for company with flexibility...
I have no issues with a required line count per day, week, month or whatever, but I do need one that has flexibility with the times. Need around 8 cpl. Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated.
Transtech if you want flexibility.
I have worked for both. I chose Transtech over Ax because there is absolutely no flexibility with scheduling. Transtech expects you work your schedule but if you swing a little bit earlier or late, and they know you will be there they leave you alone. Ax, on the other hand is very strict. You must keep to your schedule every time, no exception. Both companies have good work, good benefits. Both need excellent quality. The difference is Ax is smaller and you must stick to your line count, quality and schedule, whereas Transtech does not micromanage at all. But they do expect you to do all that Ax does, just a different management style. Different strokes for different folks. Both good companies, but for different types of people. Good luck!
Keystrokes - Flexibility
Please explain what you mean by flexibility. I was just hired by Keystrokes and told that I must work my schedule but no PTO for the first year, only five days year 1, five days year 2 and then ten days year 3. Although everything else sounded okay, I did not feel there was a lot of flexibility. Would appreciate if you could elaborate. Thank you.
You won't get flexibility or IC at Medquist.
x
Flexibility in that you have 24 hours to get your
projected line counts in. Your line counts are put on a schedule by you every month. This is what you think you will do on a daily basis within 24 hours TAT. If for some reason you can't make it a day, you e mail your sup as early as possible to let them know. So, flexible in that they don't stare at you every minute. You are also welcome to do more than projected and work other times in addition to your schedule if there is work. They e mail the team on the accounts and say when there's lots of work and help needed.
Yet, you are a statutory employee. For me, it is flexible because if one morning I am tired I can work later in the day. If I am up at 2 a.m. I can type. So forth. When I was a regular employee I was often micromanaged and I cannot stand that. Even when there was no work, I was chained to my desk. Here, there is no chaining whatsoever.
Can you tell us about your flexibility with Transcend? sm
Do you have to work a shift? Are you required to work weekends, and if so how often? We have enjoyed flexibility at MDI in that we state how many lines a day we will do and have a 24-hour window to do the work (provided the work is there which it has not been lately).
a 1-hr window is NOT flexibility in my book.
x
Me too, emphasized flexibility was more important
x
You haven't been there very long. Flexibility is very much sm
determined by who you immediate supervisor is. The post below is quite correct. They are VERY flexible the last few months, because many accounts run out of work constantly. They are not only flexible, but apologetic. This is spoken by someone who has been with the company several years, not a few months.
How were the schedules set up? Shifts? Flexibility? Thanks! nm
xxxxxx
What kind of flexibility are you talkin?
I think 3 cpl is fair. And I would prefer having the flexibility of my own schedule.
x
Futurenet scheduling/flexibility question. (sm)
If you agree to work during certain hours say 8-5, how flexible are they if something comes up and you take a couple of hours off during a.m. and then make up in p.m. Is this even allowed. I know it is IC but some IC positions are very rigid while others are not.
9.5 cpl for employee status, flexibility in schedule,
at least 70% of transcribed line rate for VR, and PTO. Let your employees do the jobs you hire them for without micromanaging them. Be honest in your communications. If you know you are going to lose an acct, say so. Don't let your employees eventually surmise it when they have been out of work for weeks. Good luck. I really hope you make it. Nothing better than working for someone who used to be an MT.
when you're able to offer flexibility and decent pay
with an acceptable platform.
