as more imporant than I am.
A. The company that I work for considers me a professional and expects me to conduct myself as thus which means working the shift they need me and not visa versa.
B. Yes, some doctors call us typists and some do not. I don't really care what they call me, I get my pride from the job I do and do it well.
C. The MTSO has plenty of accounts that need to be covered 24/7. Some MTSOs (mine include) have whole accounts for hospitals not just over flow work. Work does not stop at 5 p.m. on Friday. There has to be coverage just as if I were walking into that hospital.
You do not know how each MTSO operates nor do you know about all the accounts they have. (no I am not nor have I ever been an MTSO).
As long as you consider yourself as you stated above, you will be treated as such. If you don't want/can't work the weekends then find a job that doesn't require need it.
Just wondering though, when the work dries up in your job what are you gonna do then? Are you going to hang on to your attitude of never wanting to work weekends or are you going to be begging for a job not caring what hours you work? Might be a different story then. I don't really think anybody would choose to work weekends all the time, some jobs require it but don't rip apart those who can and do work weekends.
