But they only want to pay 4.5 cpl for SR, 5.5 for heme/onc. Can you believe that? Also, workload has been very, very low for a very long time.

Proscript is a wonderful company, great people. nm

Ditto, Keystrokes is a wonderful company with wonderful people! I love working for Keystrokes!
I am just not making enough money. They are a great company though, just ask for a back up account.
I agree also. Keystrokes is a wonderful company with very, very nice and helpful people. I would
like much more work, at least 12,000 lines each pay period.
A company full of people on a power trip!
Absolutely correct, as well as the fact that most people who move up in that company are totally unqualified butt-kissers.
Yep.
Oracle is great. Bayscribe is wonderful great line counts.
The trainer at OTI will always answer any questions about the platform and if you have any problems they have already worked them out, so just ask. Good luck!
Keystrokes is wonderful!! They are the nicest people and care 150% about their people!!
Excellent company!!!!
people should treat others the way they want to be treated. nm
.
Geez - and people wonder why I have no respect whatsoever
.
I love the company -- great people, good tech support, sm
good benefits. The pay could be more, but at least there is a production incentive tier that is not too tough to achieve. Overall, I would say this is probably one of the best places I have ever worked. If the no work situation continues, I guess I will just have to call them and ask for a secondary. Everyone in the office has always been very helpful and supportive. I just get nervous when it is not a holiday or anything and no files are available. That is just my little thing, I guess. I still would not hesitate to recommend the company to anyone.
Hope this helps.
All it takes is treating people decently and with respect.
nm
That is just wonderful. Great. Sounds
xx
They are a wonderful bunch of people!! However,
having said that....... unfortunately, the pay is extremel low for QA. I do not know what it is for MTs or even if they have US MTs. The work is plentiful for QA and pretty darn easy. BUT, even though it is easy, 2-3 cpl for full edit is just really not worth it. You really have to bust your bum to make any money at all. I don't mind working hard (believe it or not :)) but you can't kill yourself for peanuts or you would be better off working for Old Navy.
I like my company. They treat me well.
industry's *standard* pay.
BUT ------ Thanks to AAMT/AHDI, greedy hospital CEO's who want more money & more management, at the expense of less of everything else (including patient care), and MTSO's without the backbone to stand by a rate that means they can pay their MT's a living wage, even *the industry's best* pay just isn't cutting it. Not as a single person, anyway.
Changing jobs would just make my situation worse. But if the payscale doesn't go up soon, I'll have no choice but to get out. I already cant ever retire, thanks to the Wall Street pigs. And thanks to greedy people buying into the MT industry to make a fast, easy buck, just makeing ends meet is getting near-impossible. I could understand it if I had no education and no skills. But as a person who is pretty much at the top of their game in MT, I'm so disappointed that my work, my hours, and my knowledge aren't paid what they're worth. A very respected doctor/professor once told me that MTs are *one of the doctors' strongest lines of defense against mistakes, malpractice, and lawsuits*. He used to thank me personally every year, even though the rest of the hospital didn't seem to give a crap, for catching those tiny dictation errors that ALL doctors make, and for bringing things that seemed questionable to his attention. As a result, we both learned continually, and quality was job-one for him, as well as for me.
Now, it's just a numbers game. Crank out those lines. Cut those corners. Someday that continual haste is going to cost a lot (if it hasn't already). A life. A job. A medical licensure. A few million in a lawsuit. We used to be important players in the quality of medical care documentation. Now, we're just *expendable* cogs in the wheel.
Wonderful place IMO. Remember, some people (sm)
will gripe no matter what. My work is pretty steady, once in a while have to flex my schedule a bit, after OT has been offered or a holiday weekend, but ALWAYS have enough per pay period.
People in the office I have contact with are efficient and pleasant. Pay is good. Benefits are fair.
I start and finish my shifts with a good attitude, What more can you ask for?
Welcome aboard. Are you going to be doing QA or MT?
Either way, glad to have you with us.
Been there. My company didn't treat me horribly
but because I could do the very worst ESLs I got dumped on. Work is assigned by the company and there isn't supposed to be cherry-picking, but there obviously was. I could do the dictation, but it slowed me down considerably. On top of the bad dictator it seemed the sound quality was also bad. I would be stressed at the end of the day and end up with a headache. If I were getting paid by the hour I would have still be a bit stressed, but not as much because I didn't have to worry about producing lines. My MTSO has told me a couple of stories too. I have looked for another position a couple of times, but every company that offered me a position didn't want to pay me what I was currently making, didn't allow me the flexibility that I have, didn't have the friendly platform that I currently have, and I had to be connected to the internet to work the whole time. I like to get outside when the weather is nice and with my current job I download my work and then I can get off-line. I can take my laptop outside and work. I still read the job boards on occasion, but I have decided I can't do any better anywhere else, so I'll just accept whatever issues there are and deal with them.
I think that is very good advice but how do you know if a company is going to treat you well?
During the interview they will tell you all kinds of wonderful stuff. Are you saying it is better to look a company offering a lower line rate as an indication of a better place to work? You could be right.
It seems kind of sad though in our industry that in order to get decent management the personal price is to take a cut in pay. Why can't it be good management and good pay at the same time?
Webmedx fits that bill, great company, great benefits, great pay and always on time. NM
,
System great, pay good, everything great, but most managers from old Edix, problems, poor people ski
when you are out of work, you are out of luck. If you are good at brown-nosing, are tough enough to be without any self-esteem, and have maybe money coming into the household on the side in case you tick someone off, then you may succeed, for a little while.
Don't ever ask questions or have problems with anything. Don't ever have a problem. Don't think you will have any control over anything you do, either.
A few 'good' managers remained when I left, but the new ones were all from the old Edix, and were completely into numbers, cared nothing for individual MTs...if there is work, you BETTER be working. If there no work, you will hear nothing, no one will help you.
Good company, great people, good benefits.
Affordable insurance. Good luck!
Started small; great company. Rapid growth; not so great company
First year I was there was like heaven. Then the big growth spurt when they hired managers from another company (that I had run away from before because of their bad management) and let them kind of take over. Although I have no proof it was as though I got 'bumped' by these new people when they came in and I lost a good account, good manager, etc. My paycheck went down every month lower and lower, and it became harder and harder to make my minimal lines. Having any kind of advocate was nonexistent.
It depends on you and what kind of MT you are. Seems to me there are pretty much 2 types...
Sports like basketball where you have the pros who play with finesse, and then you have street players who think it is all about physical strength, period. More and more the physical strength is winning but the art of the game gets lost more and more...
As in this country where there are almost 2 sides now, those with intellect and thoughtfulness, and those who think the only way to be strong and be a leader is to beat up everyone who does not agree with you...and force your will on others.
Suffice it to say in my opinion WMX changed its philosophy of the way it treated employees and lost its heart when it grew, and it was literally almost overnight...
If you are a mass producer who has no care of what it takes to make money, if you are a 'street fighter' then it would probably be for you because you WILL have to fight for everything. Fight for the right account, fight for lines, fight to be treated fairly, etc. If you appreciate MTing for the art of MTing or have any kind of joy for the profession, my guess is you will not make it there very long...
This is happening all throughout the what used to be called profession. Seems to happening all through everything these days. Humanity and heart are being pushed down to the bottom...
I think it is all nearly full-time people now..they may have (sm)
a few people working part-time but I'm not sure.
They are really a wonderful company with little or no
turnover in staff. The owner really knows how to treat his staff well.
yes the do!! a wonderful company
xx
Wonderful company.

Wonderful company!
I love working with MTA. Pay is good and on time. Hours are flexible (probably depending on account). Lynn is very organized and great to work for.
This board is full of nasty , angry, bitter people. Why? sm
With this economic crisis that the entire world is under, we still have jobs that are fairly secure. We have jobs that pay more than minimum wage. We have benefits, unless IC status. We have good work environments, do not have the risk of losing an arm, leg or life in a piece of machinary or being blown up in a mine.
Yes, there are companies that do not pay. Yes, there are companies that do not pay more than 6 cpl, but we have a CHOICE on who to work for. Don't work for them. There are plenty of good companies that treat their employees well.
Christmas bonus? My husband was laid off last week from a job he has had for 27 years. That was his bonus.
Unemployment is at record highs, prices are at record highs and it does not seem to have an end in sight for many years.
Perhaps a depression would show Americans that nothing is free and people would stop standing with their hands out all the time.
As a society, we have come to expect everything to be handed to us. As a transcription professional, it is disheartening to see all the angry, bitter, hateful posts here all the time.
Transcription companies face the same rising costs as every other company out there and I am sure they feel the crunch too, but they are not telling this every second like other industries.
I am not an MTSO, not a manager, not a troll. I am just an MT who is grateful for her job and skills that will allow her family to survive this crisis without scars.
As below, they do to full time people making 900 dollars per pay period. nm

Great company, great boss, great account!!!nm

I worked for a wonderful company. sm
It is pretty small and she will probably keep it that way. She is the best boss, very knowledgeable and willing to share the knowledge, fair wages, sits right there every day typing or proofing along with everyone else, and she turned out to be a great friend. I worked for her as long as I could but was making much more money doing radiology reports so made the decision finally to concentrate on that only. We keep in touch and some day I may be back with her, who knows. So, I would say not all companies are the same but the really good ones just may be harder to find.
Transform is a WONDERFUL company!!
They pay on time, helpful, wonderful/nice people. They are pretty much everything you would want!
The company sounds wonderful, by chance....
do you need a really dedicated Radiology MT????
I work for SmartScripts and they are a wonderful company.
Plenty of work and pay is always on time.
Axolotl is a wonderful company but not sure if hiring. SM
You are welcome to email me if you want. Good luck
I just declined a position with a wonderful company due to
How many of you work for a company with a Tues thru Sat or Sun through Thur schedule? How can you possibly due this every weekend? I would have no problem working a rotating weekend schedule every 3 to 4 weeks, but EVERY weekend when I have kids and family time is important? Please explain this to me, as I just cannot see how it is possible. Thanks!
Keystrokes has great ortho accounts and a wonderful manager over the ortho work. sm
I have worked with them for 4 years and will never leave unless something drastically changes. I do not post here normally as it seems that there are so many negative people, but this is one I felt I could answer without being attacked.
EMTS is a wonderful caring company - I've been
there over 2 years and I will have to be chased away with a stick. This company is SOOOOO kind to their employees ... seriously caring people. You can't work for a better bunch. That is my .02
I worked there for a short time. Wonderful company.
I went and got my own clients, so I couldn't do both. Pay was adequate and on time by direct deposit. I had a teaching hospital, good account, some difficult ESL, some not so difficult. Bayscribe platform is okay, had to get used to it. I personally was not fond of it, but to each their own.
The long distance phone service was not an issue. I used the Verizon unlimited LD and regional plan $49.99 per month.
All-in-all, my experience was good while there. Every company has their ups and downs. It all depends on what your individual needs are and how far out of your comfort zone you want to go.
Good luck!
Hello other ex-Genie. YOG was a wonderful company indeed. I didn't know how good I had it. Those

You are pathetic! I have a great life, loving family, work for a great company.
You might want to fix that.
You really don't have to shout (angry person), but yes you are wrong!!

AXOLOTL - A GREAT COMPANY WITH GREAT INSURANCE
Axolotl has AWESOME, AFFORDABLE insurance. Family plan medical and dental costs a little over $300.00 MONTHLY. They also pay for family plan vision in its entirety. STD, LTD, 401K with match and flex spending account, great PTO and HOLIDAY pay. OH and paid downtime in the case you run out of work, which doesn't happen often!!!
is WMX an abbrevation or full name of company? sm
I can't find their website. Thanks for the posting!!
They are wonderful! Pay on time, work always available, wonderful
people
Full-time MTs, what LD company do you use for work (if LD is required, of course) ?
nm
I was the *half full* type until my company laid me off.
They said identical things as this DRC acquisition. They told us to just keep working as usual and do your best. Three months later (after the Indians had proper training on our accounts), they laid off the whole US MT force. The particular account I was on DID NOT want their dictations outsourced overseas but this happened anyway until this account caught wind and eventually left. These things do happen out there, and all of these people have the right to feel skeptical. These Indian company takeovers happen more often than not. We MTs need to be less naive about things and more weary to protect our occupation.
Great, there are people out here who...
are the sole support of their families (who usually need to eat regularly, wear clothes and shoes and need electricity and other "luxuries."
You would tell someone in that position to be grateful for the opportunity to spend time with their children in that case? How much quality time can a parent have with kids if they are worried about paying the bills?
Great people....
I was hired by Alltype a couple of weeks ago. Everyone is professional and friendly. They pay excellent and they hire both employee and IC status. When the account that I was hired for was having technical problems they offered me an hourly wage compensation becuase it was not my fault. Now thats a company that cares about their transcriptionists. I'm pretty sure I'll be with them for a long, long time.
