And that's the rub for the medical transcription industry--especially transcriptionists who have worked during the glory days. Some MT's feel they have to adapt to subpar working conditions OR even SETTLE for subpar working conditions and subpar pay in order to continue to make a buck. Justify it all you want but you can't refute there's a huge pay and benefit discrepancy between working for a service and working in-house. Medical transcription companies, MxSecure included, aren't in it for the love of transcription or quality patient care, they're in it for the buck. Speaking of quality, we have 2 full-time transcriptionists here in-house who have to edit what we get back from MxSecure because it's so horrible.
