It remains my worst experience in my MT employment history. I don't know about their workflow now. I know how they treated their ICs and employees when I was there. I would not recommend them, but I cannot go into detail. It was, and probably still is, a very small company, which means anonymity is difficult when it comes to giving details.

You would think a professional would use the name of her company sm
and not a moniker to post with, plus like the other poster, I am not sure as a potential employee I would need to know about her 26 surgeries (26?!!!). I think I'll pass.
Then you need to be professional, give a company website than can be checked out sm
and let people apply there. Why in the world would you expect people to get their personal info to you, if you are less than professional yourself. I certainly would not, especially after your post here.

Are you familar with War Eagle? sm
I used to go every fall to the big arts & crafts fair at War Eagle/Bella Vista, Dixieland Mall, Applegates, etc. I love Arkansas in the fall when the leaves are all turning, fresh apple cider stands by the roadside, etc. Actually, fall anywhere sounds good right now with all of this darned heat. 
You're probably right about drinking up the profits ... guess it is a no go on the magaritas .. dabnabit.
You know, when I see your name, I think of my mom. When she didn't like someone or thought they were kind of stupid, she would call them a gourdhead.

Apparently, MTSOs feel they can call all the shots without remorse.

I believe you always should leave a company on good terms. Of course, on the other hand, if work is super low and they wouldn't feel the pinch if you left, I think less than 2 weeks would work. I had to do this at my last job. I gave them a week's notice because I just could not afford to work part time at a company where I was promised full time.

Found the website www.yoursafeandhappyhome.com. Then if you Google the lady who runs this site, you will see she is targeting SAHMs with all kinds of different WAH jobs. Tons of red flags on this one for me.

Just curious if anyone can tell me if it is hard or not to get your line count in for OSi. I'm currently in the process of taking the tests for the job. I am working for MQ right now and it's horrible with getting your line count. I make it, but I have to work my butt off to get it. I was forced into MQ and now am trying to find something better. Any information would be much appreciated. Also, what's their pay like? Thanks a bunch!

When I talked to the recruiter she said they paid for spaces. I worked for a company that did not pay for spaces now and I am not going to go that route again I do not think. I think the pay for on the low side too for my years of exp. She told me FT and PT get paid the same and only the third shift makes more. Insurance was not bad and it compatible with what I am paying now. The only thing that was told to me was 500 lines for PT. I think I will ask more questions before I fill out paperwork. Thanks for input
Actually, I did run my own transcription company (sm)
I had 4 girls working for me, plus I did the transcription, payroll, getting the tapes and delivering them to the girls and delivering the transcription - yes I did not have digital.
The girls got what I got right across the board. I never, ever took a cut from them. I incurred my own expenses of gas, phone. That was it. I worked out of my home and did it.
As an IC, you have the right to charge what you think the job is worth. Do you shop around for a better price when having repairs done in your home? Do you automatically take the cheapest one? Or do you take the one that costs more, but has the experience and the know how to get the job done and get it done correctly?
That is my point. The MTSOs say they cannot pay above a certain amount when in fact I would bet that they can. Think about it. Not in a stressed out kind of way, but just think about it.

I also work for Focus Infomatics, I mean worked. I have been working for months. They payvery poorly 6.5 cents per line. as compared to other companies, that is very low. Also they trick you into thinking it is a transcription job, then they tell you when you are trained, that you are going to be doing editing, without giving you a choice. I am very disappointed with them. I also thought they were good in the beginning. They are not very professional. I would not recommend this company to anyone who is looking for transcription work.
I would think you would know, pay should never be discussed with anyone - not very professional.

Professional tester SM
I feel like a professional tester. Tested for so many companies in the last six months I can't remember all of them - not one answer from any of them.
Just tested for Transcription1 and still have not heard from them either. Anybody have any info on this company?

I personally do not think that anyone who is taught English as a second language could ever type or edit American English as well as American English-speaking people that are trained to do so unless he/she has solely devoted his/her life to mastering the craft. Granted, there are many, many Americans who do not use the language properly even a little bit, but these people typically do not become MTs either! I cannot imagine learning Russia as a second language, barely being able to articulate it, and then overseeing a born-and-raised Russian's grammar and punctuation skills. Just my personal opinion, of course. I'm sure there are exceptions...somewhere.

I talked with a recruiter once who talked to me like I was her long lost friend... it was kind of distracting.
I like the way the DR recruiter conducted everything. She was professional and pleasant, but not overly friendly.

Is this from the same mouth that threaten LEGAL action for imagining having been called a liar? Calling someone a psycho and ignorant? You neglected to mention the NUMEROUS emails you write to me, not just one! Yes, I'm sure anyone checking this site for suggestions or recommendations as to where to work will find this post helpful. they will realize that we have and maintain such a high standard that loons like yourself cannot possibly ever get hired on. For that, we are blessed and quite happy, and successful I might add. You have doctor friends- seek one out and get help. I pray for you...

that is probably why they told you not to mock their advertisers. Put youself in their place. If this was your website, would you want MTs to mock your advertisers?
Company info on OSI Transcription
Has anyone ever worked for OSI Transcription? If so, are they decent? I just did the online transcription test and am awaiting their answer. I would hate to give up my local jobs for this one and find out they are not a decent company.
