EMR

My 2 cents is that we all probably already work with an EMR system already and don't even realize it. I managed a transcription department for 10 years and switched over to EMR and didn't lose a single typist. In fact, I needed to hire more. The EMR allowed for our doctors to have a laptop in every consult room to see the patient and eliminated the paper chart. They dictated directly into the laptop and we retrieved the voice note in the chart and typed directly into the chart through the EMR system. It didn't eliminate the need for transcription at ALL. Most companies that have you working on a platform such as InScribe or DocQScribe take your final product and integrate it with the hospital or clinics EMR system.
