Meditech program at MDI-MD..sm
I remember transcribing into Meditech at MQ (before their new platform). I think that was DOS.
I will be working for MDI-MD and the program will be Meditech. Does anyone know if they have DOS or Windows? I saw a very positive comment by another MT about Meditech Windows. I hope that's where I'm heading!
Thanks!
Which shortcut program works best with Windows-based Meditech?nm

Keystrokes' ads all say WindowsXP or 2000. Vista is not compatible sm
with most platforms, which is not the fault of the company.
You were not fired; the offer letter states that employment is pending IS approval of your computer. Vista is NOT compatible with most MT platforms at this time. No one would have told you to purchase that. We do just the opposite and tell everyone NOT to purchase VISTA as it is does not work with our hospitals.
Keystrokes/Meditech
I am fairly new to Keystrokes. I am on a Meditech account that specifies no cutting and pasting. I have always typed in word and pasted into Meditech, much faster and easier. How would they know if I cut and paste? Does anyone at KS do this on a Meditech account. I don't want to get in trouble, but using just Meditech, I don't think I will ever get over 200 lph.
Thanks.
Keystrokes employees using Meditech
Are you guys meeting your line count in 8 hours or less and making a good salary? How long did it take you, after starting, to meet your line count? Thanks.
Keystrokes and Meditech info please
I am going to work for Keystrokes on the Meditech platform and now I read horrid things about the platform. I DON'T do well with donating my time to set up reports or to send them, and this appears to be the premise of Meditech... Can somebody enlighten me? Please tell me there is not a lot of wasted time (aka... DONATED TIME) on the meditech platform. Thanks
I work on a Meditech account (not with Keystrokes)
and they have also prohibited cutting and pasting. Just because it looks okay on your screen doesn't mean it comes out okay on their end, I guess.
Just curious. What program does Keystrokes use on the ortho accounts?
:-)
I just started with Keystrokes full time and am on a Meditech account. sm
I would not call it my favorite platform by any means -- I think it is rather slow and cumbersome -- but with the addition of ShortHand and getting used to how things are done, I am picking up speed and hope to be at my normal level soon. One of the pluses to Meditech is that you can access the patient's chart and see other reports dictated, plus lab reports, x-rays, etc.
I work at Keystrokes using a C-phone and Meditech. Admittedly, I wasn't sm
fond of Meditech when I first started using it, but now I do not mind it at all. You can look up patient data such as medications, prior reports, etc., which can be quite helpful. And Keystrokes uses a formula to count the lines which I think turns out very favorable for the MT. I don't think that must be my C-phone account, thought, because I'm pretty sure there are more than 35% ESLs!
Good luck to you. Don't let the naysayers get to you. Try it for yourself and see. It might be a great fit.
A few are compatible, but not all. More are becoming compatible though which is nice. sm
We are the mercy of the hospitals except those that are on DQS now.

There are two types of Meditech. One is Meditech Magic, which has a blue sm
screen and is like WP5.1. It is a bit cumbersome but not bad once you get used to it.
The other is Meditech Client, which is WONDERFUL. It opens into Word and populates the demographics for you.
Neither are bad once you get used to them. I make great money using Magic and a lot of others complain about it.
Does the MQ DQS program contain the ShortCuts program, or do I need to buy it? nm
nm
DQS is not a "Medquist" program, it is a program used by MQ. (nm)

I don't know why it's not compatible
Are you talking about your MS Word autotext?
As far as I know, nothing is compatible with Medrite, sm
especially if you are working in DOS. I worked on it for over a year and never did get the hang of remembering my own word expansions. I used IT too long and could not get used to anything else.
VISTA IS COMPATIBLE
I dont know who told you VISTA was not compatible but it most certainly is! I bought a new laptop with Vista and have been working without any problems whatsoever. If you're having a problem downloading it, it's because you must first sign in as, run as administrator...then it will download for you...
Anybody know of any companies that are compatible with the
Would love to be working on my own computer which has Vista on it.

MT equipment is often not compatible with VoIP too.
For example:
If you need your (*) key to sign off on a job, it may not work because some phone plans/phone cards will use that key to disconnect you so you can dial another number to avoid having to dial in again and enter your whole ID# and PIN# all over again.
Same goes for the (#) key; some may use this key for that function, which might be a key you need to get the header info. for each job or to repeat the header info.
It's very difficult for an MT to find a LD plan, and unfortunately, some MT companies out there don't realize this or simply don't care.

Is the platform compatible with an expansion
I don't mean using the features in MS-Word (Auto-Text, etc.), but something like Smartype or Shorthand? When I interviewed with them a couple of years ago, I was very impressed with them, but I can't fly without an Expander and there were issues with Lotus not counting expanded text with every expander I asked to use with it. It was only for that reason that I did not accept a position with them.

Does anyone know if ChartScript is compatible with Windows Vista?
I just ordered a new HP laptop with Windows Vista, and I was wondering if anyone knows if the ChartScript.net platform will run on Vista without any problems. I want to be able to take my laptop with me when I travel so that I can work on the road.

Not true anymore. More platforms are Vista compatible. sm
I work for Keystrokes and bought a new computer about 3 months ago. I asked if Vista worked and I was told that it is about 50/50 right now and more are compatible all the time. This is everywhere, not just Keystrokes.

LOL, they still aren't compatible with Vista or Word 2007...

Reputable company w/ platform compatible w/ InstanText/Shorthand
Am heavily dependent on sophisticated Expanders that incorporate code script, like ShortHand and InstanText. Can anyone recommend reputable employers whose platforms are compatible with these programs?
