Webmedx hire part time employees...sm
I'm really happy there.  You might give them a try.
They no longer hire part-time and may be eliminating part-time employees within the next 6 months.
They are going to have those that are PT go FT if possible. Some accounts require 1 weekend day, but not all. Most transcriptionists have 1 account with 1 back-up account. I know that they are hiring for hospital accounts in medical records and radiology right now.
Yes I know they hire part time because I referred someone there for part time.
They are internet based.
They are advertising for full time HIM now, do they still hire part time? nm

I believe they do hire part time
I found pay to be above what most companies are offering these days, great benefits, and good positive people to work for.
Do they hire part-time?? n/m

Yes, they do hire part-time - sm
I don't think they are hiring at this time but it is worth putting your name in. They have a website. If you are good, I don't see why you would fail the test.

Keystrokes - do they hire part time?SM
If they do, how many lines and do they have acute care or clinic and do you have to work weekends?  Thank you.
Thanks to all. Which companied hire part time for VR? SM
Not interested in full time because I currently work approximately a 6 hour day, but want to start with minimal hours on VR. Any suggestions?
Does MDI Maryland hire part time IC's?
If so, does anyone know what their line requirements are for part-time?
Congrats! Do they hire part-time?

Are there any companies besides Amphion that hire part-time

I need a company that allows you to make your lines without demanding that you be on from this second to that second.  If it's part-time it's obviously because you have other things to do and your life doesn't revolve around a set schedule.  If I can get my work done at 3AM so why would that bother anybody?

Is there a company that doesn't mind when you work as long as you meet your quota and are accurate?

Who then will hire for part time and is a decent company?(nm)

Don't think they hire part time. Old posts are not favorable. nm

Are there any good companies that hire part time?

I have two years of acute care experience, and I need a part-time job to supplement my current income.  If everything works out, I will need to go to full time in March.  At this time, I can only work Friday and Saturday nights.

I have been applying to several companies, but they keep giving me the run around.  One company even told me I did very well on their test and that I was put in a pool of transcriptionists to be contacted.  The recruiter called me once, and I missed her call.  I called her back and left a message, but I have not heard anything else from her.

Any advice would be appreciated. TIA!

Do any MTSOs hire part-time...I just figured out
that I can make just as much working part-time MT somewhere else than working at Medquist full-time as an MEE (what a joke).  After 3 paychecks of half of what I was making before 7/1/09, that is what it amounts to.  Might as well spend more time with my family, but I only see full-time jobs posted.  Any suggestions would be great so I can have a life again!  Much appreciated!
webmedx PTO question. Do you get PTO as part time? (sm)

I know they changed from 35 hrs to 40 hrs for FT classification in the recent past.  I also know the PTO hours for the first year are darned slim.  Just wondering of you can to PT and still accrue any PTO?

TIA

I worked part-time for Webmedx and I work FT for TransTech. sm

My vote would be for TransTech, although Webmedx is not bad.  Since I was only part-time, I did not receive any benefits, but from what I recall, they did seem to have a nice benefit package.  My main complaint was that I just never could get my lines per hour up to where they have been at other companies.  Normally, I average around 300 lines per hour, but even with totally focusing and typing as fast as I could, I never could get past 250-260 lines per hour at Webmedx.  Their incentive pay is based on lines per hour that you type, not total lines per pay period, so it did make a difference in my pay.  I also did not like the fact that I had to use their computer.  I like using my own computer, and also like the flexibility of being able to load the program on my laptop so if I have to be away from home, I can still work if I need to.

I have seen negative posts about TT, but I have no complaints with them.  My line counts are fair.  The people in management are absolutely some of the most caring people I have ever met.  The work generally is plentiful, and I have a backup account.  The incentive tiers are easy to attain, and the benefits are pretty good, I think, and not outlandishly priced.

Obviously, not every company is a good fit for everyone.  I hope you find just exactly what is best for you -- good luck!

I applied at Webmedx, took test, passed, and they said no to my part-time schedule.
Maybe call and ask before you waste your time like I did.
No PTO for part-time. Not sure if you can work part-time or not since recent rule change. sm
You do pay a deposit for their equipment.
There is a part-time and a flexible part-time, just left there and they offered
me both. Flexible, however, is more or less when they need you (I.e. weekends), part-time is fixed hours.
From what I understand, the part-time positions will be only be for those that are already part-time
It is not a restructuring of the company, just of some of the existing part-time positions.

I know that there are a few employees who have been with Keystrokes for many, many years who are part-time and they will not displaced.

Other than that, there have been many discussions why there will not be any new part-time employees hired, and I really don't think they will back down on that.
do they hire part-timers?
I'm not sure I'd want 1200 lines a day. Is that a requirement?
Does Keystrokes hire part timers? Thx. nm

I'm lookin for part-time work (about 3-4 hrs daily) after 13 years of full-time, anyone know of a
company that is hiring flexible part-time?  I'm starting a career in real estate but don't want to totally quit transcription, but I think most places require 25 hours a week and I cant work weekends, as real estate sales are the biggest on the weekend with open houses and people off work to shows homes to.  If you know of a place I'd sure appreciate the info.  Thanks!
Not what I was told; 3500/wk part-time & 6000 wk/full-time. nm

Precyse Solutions is hiring part-time and full-time right now.
Saw this on their website.
i work 3 part-time jobs now. it can be confusing if you are learning both at the same time, but sm
other than that not a problem for me. best to get one down before starting to other or you might become overwhelmed.
MDI-MD: What are daily line requirements for full-time/part-time? Thanks! nm

I have one full-time job and 2 part-time jobs. It can be tricky at times, sm
but at least I now have plenty of work always. I have some big financial goals, and right now that seems to be the only way to accomplish it.  I can't see any reason why it would not be legal -- why would you say that?  I am cheating no one, except myself (out of sleep and a social life).  Fortunately, I am single with no children or anything.  I cannot imagine doing this if I had a family.  At least my dogige understands.
Full time/part time based on # hours or
# lines per pay period, nothing to do with quality. The lower the quality the higher the pay it seems.
Solution: Find another job, part time or full time.
Post your resume, hope for the best.
Depends on how flexible you need to be and if full-time or part-time
They are a little more flexible if you are part-time.  Not so much full-time, where you can be a little flexible within the day (not a strict 8-5), but if you are scheduled for Monday, you have to work Monday unless you request off, and if you are scheduled for a Holiday, you have to work the holiday, unless you request off.  They encourage you to clock out every time you are not typing to keep your lph rate up, which means an 8 hour day can turn into 12 hours at the computer.  If they run out of work (which they do quite often), you have to make the time up.  They are also leaning more towards Voice Recognition, so MTs are getting trained on that, but not sure what percent will go that way.  It does affect how much work you may get though in the other accounts.
DVHP gives vacation time to part-time people. nm

OSi with part time health insurance and paid time off
OSi does offer health insurance and paid time off for part time.  Yes, there have been changes.  Yes, there will probably be more changes.  I don't see anywhere that hasn't had changes.  If they don't change they will be out of business the way the economy is these days, just like some other companies.  If they don't make money, then I don't make money.  So, what is so different with OSi compared to other companies?  I see complaints constantly about all companies.  I don't think it is the fault of the company that they outsource or use voice recognition.  It just is life on life's terms these days.  There is still enough work for us, at least for me.
Does WebMedx hire outsiders for QA?
Or do they always promote from within? Currently with MQ and looking to leave ASAP.
Didn't we just recently have ads to hire more MTs at Webmedx and also (sm)

have notices of referral bonuses if we referred people?  I am hoping they are ramping up for new accounts and this is just a temporary thing as new people are put on existing accounts.

I know all companies have ups and downs and I have been around long enough to know you have to go with the flow, but I have seen many, many posts about this company over-hiring and am a little concerned.

Anyone???  Encouraging info please???

Its holiday time. I just took a part time job at K-Mart and
it is really quite fun because I get to interact with humans and do not have to stare at a computer. My part time benefits included an employee discount on merchandise from day 1 of employment, can put that on lay-away, and if the item goes on sale before you pick it up, you get it at the sale price as well as with the discount. This is a Super K-Mart, and with kids this will really help with paying for their presents. It sure beats running out of work every day and wondering if I am going to have any money for gifts.
Question on MDI-MT full time vs. part time
Does anyone know how many lines per week or per pay period are required at MDI-MT to be considered full time?  Thanks.
Part-time MT getting full-time work ??????

TransTech should not be giving out work to PT people on their DAY OFF, or any other time BEFORE a full-time MT has enough work    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Full time is 40 hours, and yes they have part-time.

TRUST me when I say...It is not worth your time, even part-time..

I hired on with them part-time on or about September 8, kept getting run around as to when I was to actually start transcribing. Team lead emailed to say she had a very very good account for me to start on.  I was trained 25 minutes. Then, there was an issue with my ID and password to get into the system.  After about 2 weeks, got ID and password, but it didn't work.  Then I get an email from another supervisor advising that I would be on another account and they seen the specs. So, I get an email some time around the first of October saying I can start typing.  In the meantime, Focus has a MT Forum, and I'm reading all these negative remarks from the MTs stating a lack of communication company wide, to the terrible QA department being not all on the same page, and being deducted points for blanks and such.  By this time, I was exhausted from waiting, and exhausted from hearing all the complaints from the MTs actually working there, that I sent an email to team lead saying, I had changed my mind about working there.  This is the most chaotic, disorganized, miscommunicated place I have ever seen in my entire 32 years of being an MT.   (If there are any errors in this forgive me.  Don't feel like proofing this)

Here's part of the problem with Webmedx (sm)
I'm not sure they know how to analyze data, for one. For the example, they supposedly pulled 1 MT's data from 1 day of work. How about using a true average instead? She said that it was representative of the average, but I really don't know that's true or that they even know how to figure an average, taking into account variations.

Second, we kept hearing that the base ISR rate is more than competitive and one of the highest in the industry. The industry has been paying MTs very poorly. Look up the average income in the United States, and then see how MTs fare compared to that. It's a cryin shame. If they want to keep saying they're REMARKABLE, they need to do more than be competitive with crappy companies out there. They need to set a new standard.

A very good question: Why would Webmedx invest in technology if it's going to mean they have to pay MTs more? Using the example of the mystery MT who is now making more money (of course), when that's the average, why would a company sink money into something that's going to cost them? Such a good question.

Supposedly it will reduce their need to hire more people, is one of the answers we hear. Have we ever known Webmedx to be hesitant to hire people? I haven't. I've seen them hire and fire from management to MTs, and I've seen them make what I feel are really stupid decisions that cost money. Rather than using their workforce, they have often hired from outside, getting people they have to train on everything, and many of these people have been let go in a short period of time. That costs real MONEY. I'm not buying the line that it will reduce their need to hire more people since they haven't seemed too concerned about this issue in the past.

Also, the figures are of a supposedly of an MT who makes the average over there. No info was given on how long it took that MT to reach that level. That's a rather important factor. Two weeks for everyone to adjust to a new way of doing things? That's not much time, and I doubt it compares with this sample that was used for illustration.

Here's a novel idea: Webmedx should raise the pay rate. By doing so they'll attract the BEST MTs who will want to work for this company because they are actually remarkable. By attracting and only keeping the best, they'll actually have to hire fewer people because the quality MTs will work their schedules and send fewer reports to QA. Hiring costs will be reduced. Training costs will be reduced. The company will profit dramatically by raising rates. Clients who leave thinking they can get a better deal elsewhere will find that the quality just isn't what it was at Webmedx, likely prompting retention of customers and return of those who have left. By making a remarkable move like this, the industry would either have to follow suit, nudging up their rates a bit, or they would lose quality-conscious clients and MTs to Webmedx.

I would suggest Webmedx put that little idea into their little metrics-machine, but I'm not sure they could wrap their minds around it. In my opinion, it would require actually thinking in new ways and truly being a leader in this industry rather than trying to be influential by infiltrating AHDI and MTIA and other organizations with people who work at Webmedx.

Webmedx execs, please use your heads. Take a little risk. Do something remarkable. Think in new ways. I'm not talking about sitting around thinking up new acronyms (MCS = medical content specialist, ISR = intelligent speech recognition) to try to act as if you're different and better and justify your executive pay by looking like you're actually doing something. Actually DO something different. Create some radical change. You'll truly be remarkable then, and you'll reap the rewards for it.
Does anyone know if Webmedx hires part-timers? TIA (nm)

Were you full time or part time?
I would like to get about 1500 lines a day in if possible - not possible? The pay seems good.
Not sure about part time but for full time you get SM
up to 12 hours to do a 7 hour shift. Webmedx requires 35 hours a week for full time, not 40.
