I suspect. I believe Indian MTs are specifically trained to do the US work; it's not that they were working for an Indian hospital but didn't have enough to do.
They told me the same.. that they would always have transcriptionists in both countries. sm
Remember the lovely talk not too long ago about the sale of the company, and how even if they did sell, the new company would want to keep MTs and QAs who knew the accounts?

Then all got quiet for so long. We were supposed to hear by December... then February... nothing from Paulik. I knew something was going on. They were too quiet.
Then supervisors started getting extra whiny about every little thing, changing everything, work dropped off.
I can't wait until everybody gets theirs. Wait until they outsource the supervisor and HR jobs.

and Ireland and away from India as the cultural difficulties have led to problems, plus they have great tax incentives.
Beg to differ. It is not perfect and is a long way from being perfect. A LOT of hospitals
are moving away from voice recognition after trying it and failing. The good news is that once burned, it is hard to convince a board of directors to put out money like that for a second try.
I think that it has its place and does work if done right in certain facilities, but it is a VERY small percentage and will not hurt us for many, many years to come.
I am not hiding my head in the sand; I am actually seeing the trend reverse.
Just dont ever forget the work that goes to India and other countries. I guess they will be doing
weekends etc. I am sure MQ has this all very nicely figured out.

I work for Globespan Medical, Inc and it is not a foreign company as you are thinking. They are based out of California and do not outsource, so not sure what you are seeing and where that they are foreign.

You don't want to work for a foreign company why? I'm sure that you purchase items from foreign companies. Everything is going overseas because it is cheaper. Focus is a great company to work for. I've been there for 1 year and haven't had any issues with them. Just because they are foreign doesn't make them a bad company.

Does anyone keep jap cars long enough to find out? We have American vehicles ranging from 2001 back to 1960. Still running. It started in the 70s when the factories started closing as goods were being made in Japan, and continued on. Now it's China and India gobbling up our jobs.

Never said perfect. If it were perfect, there would never be room for sm
change or growth. What I was talking about was the continuous posting by the same people, over and over again, that is vague and destructive. This is not just about Keystrokes, this is about the posts for other companies as well.
I think that not every MT is a good fit for every company, and not every company is good fit for every MT. If this were the case, there would be very little job searching or hiring going on, only if someone retired or left the field or entered the field.
It is the outright lying that is so horrible. Keystrokes is a transcription company which means that we have the normal ups and downs that every company has in terms of slow and busy periods. We have been very fortunate to have very little down time due to busy and also new accounts.
If there are check problems, they are resolved. We all wish there were no problems and this is the biggest topic at manager meetings, but human error comes into play here as well. We have a new time recording system that should eliminate that, if the information is entered correctly from the MT.
If there are tough dictators on the account, it is not the fault of the company. It is the fault of the hospital that has them on staff, but you have to take the good with the bad.
If there are QA complaints, it is usually that the leads are too strict. The owners have said that they would rather be known for being too picky than too lenient, thus having accounts say the work is not up to standard.
If there is a reliability problem, it just might not be a good fit.
I know that if I were to take over recruiting and hiring (which I absolutely want NOTHING to do with), I would not take job hoppers. However, I have been told that you have to look at the hopping and why it has happened. A lot could be poor choices. That's why I will never be in charge of hiring, but I can control the MT QA and reliability once they are on my account.

MDI does not outsource but they were bought by Transcend who has been sending work to Florida. Just an FYI.

No everyone there worked from home. They also used Transcend for overflows. It was a good place to work, but dayshift was years away.

The offshores get preference for the work. Some of the managers are just awful, especially one in particular. I mean downright nasty and not even available for questions. Big shakeups lately.

There is, however, an Indian company with a similar name that IS doing business in India.
I know it gets slammed on here for doing all kinds of things and I have never heard a word of truth about Transtech spoken here.
