They never respond to emails, resumes, etc.

Thanks! How long does the test typically take to complete? nm

How long does it take TransTech to respond to
..
resumes do not take that long, especially when you have had only 1 job..make it with your word sm
processor and send.
How long does it take Webmedx to respond to an on line app? (sm)

Just sent it off Friday, so I guess it could take a couple of days.  I am just ready to make the leap and I think I am leaning towards this company.  They sound pretty good from their ad and I see few/if any negative posts about them.

Just curious how long the whole process will take from application to testing to potential hiring and beginning work.  Any input?

How long does it take Webmedx to respond to an on line app? (sm)

Sent in the initial application, got an immediate E-mail with some different questions on it which I submitted 2 days ago.

Really want to work for this company part time for now, possibly full time later.

Any info appreciated.

I have known this for a long time; that is why I NEVER respond to an email from ANYONE on this board

because it will identify your email address when you return their email.  When they ask me to talk via email, I just don't respond to them.  NO RETURN EMAIL FROM ME.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get (sm)
equipment deposit of $300 back from Spheris once you return their equipment? I don't know who to contact. All I get is a voice mail without a return call. Thank you.
Anyone know how long it takes to

get test results back from Precyse Solutions. Are they as good as their website claims?

Anyone know how long it takes
quitting Spheris?  Thanks!
let's see how long it takes for THIS to get pulled

we have actually been told in the past to not post about them -- it's THAT BAD.  Womanizing horrible ignorant piece of crap company that doesn't give a rip about you.  If you like being treated like an idiot -- go for it!

Sometimes takes twice as long to edit?
I just finished my first hour of VRing and I did 561 lines, that is at 4 cents a line and that equals to over $22 for that hour. I could never straight transcribe that many lines in 1 hour.
Yes, 6 cpl is low but three years is NOT a lot of experience. It takes that long to become sm
semi-proficient and we look for at least 5 years because of that. I would not go higher than 7 cpl with only three years experience and I think this is starting to be the norm.

Think of other fields ... plumbing apprentices, electrician apprentices, printing apprentices, etc. It takes 5 years to be a journeyman. They start at $8.00/hour and move to cap which is around $30/hour but it takes 10 years to get there.

Even teachers ... it takes 5-10 years to get top pay.

Any field.
Depends on how long it takes to get your ID from the facility. SM
Once that happens, they get you installed and going pretty quickly.

You can probably call them about the Lanier unit to see if they have any to rent to own.

When I worked with them, the insurance was very expensive and not very good. They have promised to get better, but that has been going on for a long, long time.
Does anyone know how long it takes to get the computer deposit SM
back after returning the computer? Thanks.
Anyone know how long it takes to get contacted by Precyse after testing?

Any idea how long it takes to hear from All Type? sm

I've submitted my resume for their QA position, and I haven't heard anything back yet. I was wondering if this could be due to the convention in Boston, or is this just the new trend in the application process? I've also submitted my resume to other companies, and there have been quite a few who haven't given even a short reply.

I know it's not because of a lack of experience, because I've been doing MT for over 15 years and QA for over 5. Any ideas of a great place to send my resume?

Does anyone know how long it takes before you qualify for insurance at Keystrokes? nm

After testing for First Choice, can anyone tell me how long it takes to hear back? nm

I typed on a line that long way back when. Would NEVER do it again. Takes forever

Recently tested for MxSecure and just wondering if anyone can tell me how long it usually takes (sm)

to hear back from them.  I felt like I did pretty good on the test, but I was just wondering if it usually takes a while for them to get back to you?

TIA!

Tested with TT last week. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for them to response back.
I need a job...yesterday... I've been applying like crazy but cannot find anything worth taking.  I'm getting pretty desperate but still not enough to take 3 cpl for VR but check back next week LOL
Anyone know how long it takes to hear back from Prescyse after taking the test?
Will they get back to you?
Anyone that applied with Kathy Kirby hear anything yet? I am wondering how long it takes to hear a
response back
Typically PT has no benefits.

What a B - and what a typically management
Nuthin' new. The old, 'you're lucky to have a job at all, and you should be lighting a candle and giving us your eternal thanks for your ___ cpl.'

PATHETIC.

There is no one mandating pay dates, but typically
pay periods run from the 1st to the 15th and from the 16th to the last day of the month.  Actual pay dates vary, but the 20th and the 5th are pretty common.  The majority of companies follow this pay period, some pay every 2 weeks, a very few pay weekly and a very few pay monthly, but the majority pay as I stated.
and typically the bashers/whiners cannot spell; overall ....

I think work is typically slow this time of year sm
and I am surmising they are not wanting a backlog to build because a lot of MTs are also taking time off for the holidays leaving a skeleton crew on some accounts. I am sure it will all be busier than ever in a week or so.  I have been able to get my line counts and then some everyday so far.  Everywhere I have ever worked gets a little slow towards the holidays.
Dermatology typically an easier or more difficult specialty? Thanks. nm

of course men don't work for free; and they typically get paid better than women
and they are definitely jerks - all of them - they suck and they know it, and we are not impressed
PTO paid out based on average hourly earnings. They typically
do not pay for downtime unless it's an unusual occurrence.
Get those resumes out.

Do not permit a company to abuse you.  You're worth way more than that.  I don't care what the excuse is, but the first sign of late pay is the first sign to find a new job.  I have no tolerance for this kind of crookery, none at all.  Best wishes...

There are tons of jobs out there for the taking.  What is a good fit for one may not be for another, and I wish you the best of luck.  I feel the larger the company the better off you are as far as timely pay, not to say that a smaller company isn't a good payer, but it seems the larger ones have more of a handle on it.

Never sign a contrast as an IC that says they'll pay you when they get paid.  That's not how to do good business.

Resumes....i am so done......sm

I have been doing MT for 13 years.  I have sent out resumes to about 10 different places.  NOT ONE ACKNOWLEDGMENT, not one reply to my emails asking whether or not the positions have been filled.

To all MTSOs who read this board...Why not just answer/reply/respond to our emails?  That is so unprofessional and this just kills any respect I ever had for any MTSO at this point.

could you respond here for
x
I wish you would respond....I do.
But if it is only me, well that definitely won't do any good. We all have to stick together and let them know that it is an insult to be treated like non-*professionals*. If more people let them know they'd at least be forced to think about it instead of deleting a lonely email from one angry MT. I am beginning to think they continue to take away from us because most MTs can't be bothered and and/or will take it. ;)
Not only do they not respond....
but then every couple of months they are advertising again.  Do you think it is a vanity thing, or they are trying to  create a reputation for being busier than they are?  I don't understand why a business would waste time unnecessarily in this process, unless of course they are disorganized and discourteous, in which case they have a lot of turnover, which no business wants.
May I respond to that?
Yes, you do get binders, and yes mine contain way more samples than I probably need; however, the necessary info boils down to just a few pages for doctor lists and account specifics.  And the crap the previous poster so delicately refers to is patient demographic information.  Speaking for my account, my morning routine consists of turning on my computer, setting my demographic update to run, get coffee ready, feed the dog and cat, and by the time that's done my update is usually done or has just another couple minutes.  No big deal really.  That's on the DOS account by the way.
Can you respond here?
I guess they deleted my post on the main board because it eluded to a job wanted request. So, I had to repost it here instead. If you wouldn't mind responding here, I would greatly appreciate it!
I'm not the OP but I have to respond
*WE ARE IN A DEPRESSION RIGHT NOW...MY ADVICE IS TO TAKE ANYTHING YOU CAN GET RIGHT NOW. IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU ARE LOCKED INTO IT FOR LIFE, BUT WE CAN'T BE TOO PICKY LIKE WE WERE BEFORE.*

I'm not the OP, but THANK YOU for pointing this out. I see so many negative posts on here (humorously referred to as *haterade* in another thread) that I sat and nodded my head in agreement with your post.

While some places fall far short of paradise, if the pay is even halfway decent and on time, this is not the time to turn one's nose up at a less-than-ideal offer.

To had to respond:

I do NOT find your reply rude or condescending.  I only wish I could shrug and deal with it as you apparently have.  Sure, I will give VR a try with it comes to my accounts. I am just dreading it because VR offers none of the things that I enjoy about transcription.  I do not think the humor potential is going to outweigh what I will be losing.

It's not change, per se, that I resist because I certainly have had a lot of that over the years.  I've had to learn 7 or 8 transcription platforms (one loses count) with the loss in production that always means.  Three of these software changes were within the same company as some *suit* who did not transcribe decided to try out something new.  I have adjusted my schedule every which way to be accommodating.  I put in extra hours often, to help with TAT.  I'm not a total what's-in-it-for-me whiner.  But this is the change that just might do me in, because someone wants to cut my pay, capitalize on my knowledge and experience for less money, and call it progress.  Seriously, other than the chance to keep working, what IS in it for me?

One reason I have resisted offers to go into QA is that I enjoy the actual transcription so much.  Never have tried QA, I just do not feel I would enjoy finding and correcting the errors of others.  Not my thing.  I think VR would be so much worse.

I agree that MDI is a great company and I am glad to have found them after a few (okay, many) real loser companies. They have resisted offshore outsourcing and VR for a long time.  I am just sorry they have had to cave to the prevailing trend on VR.  Their client base expects high-quality work and I am hoping we can still give it to them with this transition.  But if a lot of us *seasoned* MTs choose to bail out, that may not happen.

Did you respond to an ad?
Did they post a job opening somewhere recent that you were applying to?
Collecting resumes?
I don't understand why they didn't at least call you. Did you have hospital and clinic experience? Sounds like you must have as you also edited, taught, and managed. What reasons do you think they would have transcription positions for close to 5 years? Do you think high turnover or collecting resumes?
Resumes, followup, etc.
The posts keep getting removed because of names being used, even though just informational, so PLEASE email the above email.  Maybe your resume was not received.  Our recruiter is on top of calls and emails (been with us since August and has turned that around since taking it over) and if she did not respond, she did not get it or followed up and you did not get it.  If you were referred by someone please say so and please also say that you had sent it in previously.  I will make sure that she gets it.  However, I know that she does not respond to resumes without the experience necessary, offshore or students, as it says in the ads.  She gets several hundred resumes a week and although we are growing, we are very particular about who is being hired, so she automatically does not consider those who do not meet the requirements and resumes/cover letters with typographical errors.  Not trying to be rude, just stating facts.  If you meet the requirements and did not get a response, send me an email.
I don't keep resumes on file, so...
I often get people who send their resume in multiple times in response to different job postings. That being said, if the applicant doesn't have the qualifications listed in the ad, their resume goes straight to the recycle bin without a response.
Resumes and applications

I handle resumes and applications (via email) for a national company.  I would like to give some resume and application tips as I am amazed every single day at what gets sent to me with the expectation that the applicant be considered for a professional, paying position.

Please consider the following:

-- Please do yourself a huge professional favor:  Make sure your email address is professional.  It is far better to have an email address janedoe334@hotmxxxx than to have funkydoglover6@xxxx or thejoneses@xxx.  Your first and last name (even if it has to be followed by numerics) would be best and if you need numerics why not add your zip code?  Please.  You will sound responsible, mature, and serious about your professional identity.

-- Please make sure your resume is an attachment.  It is best not to embed a resume unless the application or employer specifically asks you to.  Most embedded resumes sent in emails come with all the code and I simply will not wade through it all to see if there is something there to consider.

-- When you write your resume, make sure your contact information is at the top, including an address, your phone number(s) and email address.  (I suggest you print off your resume and have someone else proof it for errors, inconsistencies, formatting issues, etc.)

-- Name your resume appropriately.  Please don't attach it simply called Resume.  It would be best to name it with your first and last name and the word Resume in caes it gets separated from your email or, better yet, if it is saved to a file without the email!!  (Example:  JaneDoeResume)

-- Please, oh please, state in the subject line what position you are applying for.  Who is interested in an applicant who cannot even take the time to state what position they are applying for?  Not me!  I doubt many are.

-- Please send one email with resume for each position you apply for.  If you apply for three positions, I can only electronically file your email/resume in one position folder and you may be overlooked when collecting folders.

-- Please make some type of statement in the email and don't just send a blank email with the resume attached.  Just a simple, Please consider my attached resume in application for XXXX position is just fine.  A summary or synopsis of your qualifications or your life's history really is not necessary in the email because we are going to study your resume for that information.  A brief cover letter-type email is fine but it should read within the single window pane without scrolling.

-- Last, but not least, please read over your email for errors (should go without saying, I know) and remember to attach your resume!  It is so much more difficult to keep up with multiple emails because the resume was left off, then you want to add another piece of information, etc.  Do not be in such a hurry that your application email shows it.  As well, if you are applying for several positions and you are doing a copy/paste of the email content, make sure you change any job position titles within the email appropriately.

I really hope you will find this information useful -- I know for all the individuals who handle this information on the incoming will certainly make note of an outstanding resume/email application and sometimes that extra, Hey, this applicant has done a great job in presenting herself thus far can go a long way!

Sent resumes twice and never heard from them. nm

They have probably been overwhelmed with resumes since

they have been discussed so much lately.  I sent a resume and was offered a position without testing within just a few days of submitting it.  I accepted the position and they said it would take  1 to 2 weeks to get all the paperwork done, equipment, and get clearance from the account to access their system.  I ended up not accepting the position so not sure how long it would really take to get going.

I only heard from 1 out of 5 resumes I sent out
nm
Oh please, if you weed through the BS resumes
potential candidate! I was a recruiter for about 4 years and you should be able to read a resume in about 30 seconds before you want to consider that candidate.
