Do you have their benefits, and if so, how do they compare to other companies. Thanks

Goodness, they're both awful companies. Why compare them at all?
I wonder how other companies' plans compare at this point in time? sm
Not sure how long you've been with Wbx but this plan seems comparable to what we had previously; however, I know we are all paying more out of pocket - probably for every single plan at every company -in the last 1-2 years.
Dental - I still think it is a good plan but then I haven't needed a root canal.
Where are the companies with benefits? sm
I've been seeking work with benefits for a year now. I have an IC job with crappy pay (5cpl), actually am looking at another IC job now with better pay (7cpl), though not fantastic. Part of the reason I got into this profession was to work from home and be able to afford health insurance... what a joke! I don't make enough to pay bills much less health insurance.
I really do wish the schools were more up-front and honest about this profession. Don't get me wrong, I actually LOVE being an MT, but the hype of 10 cpl with benefits is crap! Recently I had a woman approach me and ask if it is true she could make 12 cpl with full benefits after a 6-month course. I told her if she finds that to give me a call! A school told her this was possible for her to earn from home right out of school. HA!
Benefits from transcription companies
I'd like to hear opinions on companies who say they offer insurance to their employees. Just today I was offered a position by a company who said they offered benefits and then when asking for details, I find out they don't pay a cent toward the monthly premium, it ALL comes out of my pay. I am sorry folks, but that is not benefits to me. I may as well be an IC and get my own insurance. Probably would be cheaper too. I counter offered to them asking them if I could work IC status and just get a higher line rate........they wouldn't go for it. Another thing is they require you to type 12,000 lines in a pay period to be eligible for the insurance. What in the world for? They are not paying out a red cent toward those benefits so why would it matter how many lines you transcribed if you are paying for the insurance yourself. This is the first time I have ever heard of something like this and I am pretty ticked about it (I know you can tell)....... In my opinion, there would no benefit at all to being an employee other than they would take your taxes out for you!!!
companies with affordable benefits
Does anyone know any companies that are hiring that have affordable insurance for family? I need to get a position with insurance. Thank you for any replies.
Are there any companies out there who provide benefits at start....sm
instead of having to wait 90 days? If so, how are they to work for?
That is true of most companies, not just in transcription. Benefits are usually sm
only for full-time employees. It only makes sense for a business owner to offer to only full-timers; they do not make as much profit on part-timers, so there is less money to spend on those benefits.
What companies have best benefits in terms of PDOs?
Two weeks/10 days PDO is not fair and not enough when you have to use it to cover holidays, vacation and sick leave. I would think there are companies who can do better than that. Who are they?
Any companies out there that offer the hospital benefits besides Diskriter
I currently work in-house a hospital but they do not have at-work positions and I would like ot work at home so I wondered if there were other companies and/hospitals that hire at-home MTs with full benefits....besides Diskriter as I have not heard a lot of good news about them and it makes me nervous to apply.
Any companies offering benefits on 35 hrs per week or less except Webmedex? Nm
Are there any companies out there that offer benefits to PT employees, such as health insurance?
I know it's a rarity but I know hospitals do.
Are there any companies who offer health benefits to part time employees?
Need insurance.
Companies are hardly offer FT employees any decent benefits so I think is going to be rare to find
them for PT employees. I would love that too, unfortunately, I work too much just to get below average benefits. Best of luck in your search. Honestly, I think the only place you'll find benefits for part-timers is going in-house at a hospital.
you cannot compare
NY with PA. I just left PA at the end of July to move to the Bay Area, South Bay to be exact. It may be more pricy here, but I feel that I have a better quality of life here versus PA. I lived about 20 minutes from Philly.
YOU MIGHT COMPARE IT TO ... sm
walking in a parade, behind a horse ... and picking up the poop after the horse, but earning HALF of what the horse earns, because, after all, YOU didn't generate the poop, but get to clean it up.
I don't think you can compare a sm
vacation schedule wtih the death of a parent!
I don't know what has happened in this society, but folks don't give a rats rear about other folks. Personally I think it all comes back at you.
Or maybe some people have nothing to compare to, so they
think they're getting a good deal. Some people know nothing except what they have experienced. They don't know there's better out there. Some people allow abuse to continue for years because they think it's "normal". Personally, I've never been disgruntled. I've always scored high on tests and been placed on higher paying accounts. However, I don't put up with B.S. I'm going to warn people about the lousy companies out there, but I also put in a good word for the good ones.
Anyone gone from MQ to Webmedx and how does it compare? (sm)
Was hoping the line counts might be more like MQ was before DocQscribe. Any info appreciated.
How does it compare to ChartScript? nm

MQ and DSG both use DQS - how do the lines compare? (sm)
I know I have seen posts about sound issues with DSG, but MQ has their own little set of issues too. Just wondering if anyone has found they make lines easier with one place or the other, if they perhaps count lines differently one place or the other?
HOW CAN YOU COMPARE BC WITH PREGNANCY - SM
And this is from someone who has been through both - pregnancy and now status post BC x6 years and counting. The big difference is I CHOSE to have the pregnancy - but I DIDN'T choose the BC - it chose me. I don't see how a pregnancy is a disability meriting 4 weeks paid vacation while the rest of us get crap - I was even told I didn't qualify for PTO since I didn't make the required line count.
I am confused. You can't compare the reports....
unless you turn them in to MQ, then see what line count you get from them compared to the line count you received on the old platform, so these reports would have to be 'standards' or whatever you call them...an operation or something that is the same except for 'fill in the blanks'. I would not work to just count the characters in 'Word'. When that is done, the count is accurate. It sounds like some of the old platforms WERE paying for inflated lines or paying lots extra for headers and footers and demo info, which DQS does not. I am not saying DQS is cheating us...technically it is not... but it sounds like the old platforms paid more lucratively. If this does not make any sense, it is because I HAVE NOT YET HAD MY COFFEE!!!!!!!!WAHHHHHHHH !!
How does ExText compare with DocQscribe?sm
I have used DocQScribe for the last six years...how will I like ExText? I liked DQS and haven't seen anything yet to beat it as for ease of use.
Compare per minute with per line (sm)
I work for Scribes/Nightingale and I was told that per minute divided by 10 = per line rate. Any thoughts as to the accuracy of this comparison?
How do you compare this to Sylcount IV Gold. nm

Anyone able to compare Webmedx to Keystrokes? sm
Does anyone have experience with both Webmedx and Keystrokes? Is either better than the other? Looking for part-time position, specifically radiology. Thanks for any info.
How does the software compare? MQ has great
software. In fact, I have been offered jobs with other companies, but their software is so bad that I have stayed with MQ. Still looking though.
I'll be happy to to compare them for you. (sm)
Webmedx has a very good platform with many transcription-friendly features you will absolutely adore. I would say it's better than DQS now, plus WMX is honest. I have never once felt I was being cheated on lines. I always felt I was with DQS. I left MQ for WMX a couple of years ago. I immediately raised my income more than $600 a month. I have never once regretted my decision. You won't either.
It is hard to just compare wages....sm
Because there are so many other variables involved - like how many characters make up a line? What percentage of the dictators are ESL? Do you get paid for headings and spaces? All of these (and more!) could end up affecting your cpl (cents per line - if you get paid that way). You could end up making more, earning less cpl, if the dictator is really easy to understand and you get paid for spaces, headings, etc. Make sure you check these out!
Anyone switch from MQ to Spheris and how does it compare? (sm)
Was told their program is similar to DQS and that 50-60% of their employees make the bonuses based on number of lines. They weren't exactly breaking the bank with their line rate offer but stated they make it up in bonuses.
There have to be some people who will share their experiences either good or bad and not just post short negative comments. Specifics please. Thanks.
E-mail if you aren't comfortable posting and opening yourself up for bashing.
I had MediTechn experience, looking to compare it
to DocQScribe.
Anyone use Cerner Classic and how does it compare
to Meditech Magic? Better, worse or about the same?
Because I compare the total lines to my paycheck

You know MQ has a great platform. How does KS compare for ease? nm
You can't compare the two - MDI has only statutory employees and contractors
with no benefits. Transcend has full time employees with benefits. I would not believe everything you hear on this board with regard to pay. I make 8 cents per line with MDI, and I am just hoping I wont get a pay cut for benefits
That's a horribly offensive term. I wouldn't compare some drama

The only company I have ever worked for is Soft Script so I have absolutely nothing to compare sm
it to. I had my own accounts, lost them and so went with the first company to high resistance me! I've been with them a few years now and certainly have had issues but with absolutely nothing to compare it to, I have always assumed this was just par for the course....now after reading all these negative comments about the management and the platform, etc., I am wondering what I'm missing by staying with SS...how much worse is this company than most? Would it be prudent to start interviewing with other companies and if so, which ones are better than SS. I would so appreciate any input....I support myself and believe me if I can find a better company where I could make a bit more money...I would be there yesterday!
TransTech and Medware, are these companies considered large, medium-sized or small companies? (sm)
TIA
Yikes.. That is only inline with companies like Focus and such. "Real" companies pay their MTs
decent rate. I make over 5 cpl editing. So, if I got that slap in the face, I'd be outta there.
Do the research...most companies, and not just MT companies, do not pay for maternity leave...
we get time off but not paid...and I really don't even understand the point of you posting this...
How do you know which companies are Nationals and which are smaller companies.
Is there a list somewhere? I'm new to this.
By "most of the companies", I meant MORE than MT companies.
clarification
Sten-Tel is the platform. Different companies use it, pay and how companies run are different. nm
:P
Also looking into them. Do they have benefits?
TIA.
How are the benefits and
do they pay according to experience, i.e. will they match what you are making elsewhere if they have more work than one can handle lately if one tests high with them? If you know, please tell.
DSG benefits
Quoted me at over $1000 per month for two people. Needless to say, did not take it!
Same here! What benefits?
x
? Benefits
What health insurance benefits does KS have? I have heard they are not paying anything toward it and it is very expensive.
Benefits
I just put in a call today as I am looking for benefits now as my husband was just laid off. I can take Unicare for $354 per month until January 1st when Blue Cross/Blue Shield kicks in. The cost on that is $256 per month (my share) as Keystrokes picks up 25% of the employee portion. Seems to be average as that is around what my husband paid at his old company.
Benefits
SAAAWEEET!! I LOVE KEYSTROKES!! Just when you think they were the best... THEY GET BETTER!!!
No benefits necessary
