Do you have a primary account - sm

or do you have to work on several different accounts? Do you get a lot of feedback during training? Did it take you very long to start meeting line requirements? Do they have decent insurance? Thanks!

It was when I worked at YOG -- primary account was 95% ESL. BUT, it's not so bad ...sm

Generally, a lot of times they say the same things in their review of systems and physical examinations, and you can make up little normals for each doc.   Tough way to get your start, though -- sorry.

By the way, I don't think most acute care accounts are that heavy in ESL, but a number of 70-80% wouldn't surprise me.

Good luck!

I don't have to be management to know I have a primary account
that I work on and have backup accounts. If you have problems with ESL doctors on a certain you should let someone know. I had this happen before on a backup account and they removed it from my pool.

I myself find it interesting that people who don't work for them and have never worked for them are posting below bashing the company on heresay.
Losing primary account.
What happens?  I haven't been working for an MTSO long enough to know (worked in house for the last 5 years).  Could someone please tell me their experiences?  I work for a large MTSO, so I am hoping that I can get placed on another account, but really, I don't think there are enough slots to fill all our positions.  Any thoughts?  Please HELP.
To losing primary account
Can you tell us which company? The moderators say it is okay.
AGREE! When my primary account went ISR........
I took about a $200 to $300 a month pay cut. Don't think this won't happen with this new system. Will soon be paying them for the priviledge of working for them.
Its my understanding your pay is based on your primary account sm
I didn't ask that specific question but that is how I understood it when it was explained to me.
Very low on my primary account with my FT job, but busy with my PT jobs. sm
Unfortunately, I need the lines at the FT job not only for the $$$ but to maintain my benefits.  Kinda scary.
Yeah, and I can bet that account used to be my primary because it rarely has work now!
nm
your company takes overflow or has a primary account
I really have no idea if this applies to your current situation, but when I worked at a hospital and a large MTSO took our overflow, some of the girls I worked with had no qualms about leaving (or perhaps assigning, can't really remember now) the horrible doctors to the MTSO. We had a monitor that showed all the jobs waiting in queue, and they would (or could, anyway) go down the list assigning themselves the good ones, thereby leaving the bad ones to the MTSO. I worked radiology and everything was in-house for that, but I would watch the acute care ladies do this.
I suppose it probably varies with each account. My primary has been slow sm

since the holiday, but I am able to get my lines.  I'm hoping it picks up soon.

Hope this helps.

My primary account is a hosp in new orleans so I'm wondering if we'll have more charts in a fe
x
primary
My primary is on that list as well but we're still going strong and hard so not sure if I believe that or not. Also a local hospital is on it and I know for sure they don't outsource.
new primary

I was given a different primary once. It was a brand new account. I tried it, and really didn't like it, and when I asked to go back to my old primary they said that was perfectly fine and put me back without any hassle at all.

I have added another secondary a couple of times, without any problem as well.

That was my primary for 5 years (sm)
also and right after the first of the year *poof* into thin air.  It was a peach of an account...dang!
They have several accounts. My primary
runs out regularly, but my primary has an abundance of work.
I've had my same primary....
since I hired on almost 3 years ago and only had to ask for a backup account this summer. Other than that, I've not needed another account.
Has anyone lost their primary?

What happened?  How did your company handle it?  Did they even tell you?  Was anyone quietly pushed out the door only to find out later it was because their primary dropped?

I feel like I am all of a sudden getting pushed out the door, and I know my primary renewal date is coming up shortly.

Any thoughts/suggestions are appreciated.  Any signs that I should be looking for (both with regards to work itself and how I am being treated)?

Thanks

Mine primary is internet
My primary account is all internet with no phone line. My secondary account uses a C-phone with a phone line. Some of their accounts are internet-based, and others use a C-phone with a phone line. I love them both.
Is this happening on your primary, as well as your back up
accounts? Have you called management regarding your situation?
I wish my primary paid by the minute...
No one ever seems to know what they are talking about on that account and they take FOREVER to get through a report. Some dictators will take 15 minutes to dictate a 50-line report because they are shuffling through papers looking up things or just saying umm..duh.. I also have one dictator who will repeat things constantly, sometimes repeating the same sentence 3 times! I'd be making about $5 more per hour if I were paid by the minute... This wouldn't be a good deal on my secondary account though. There are a bunch of fast talkers and mumblers on that account.
Can you give any hints as to your primary?
like initials or what type of hospital (assuming it's a hospital account) it is?
I love the company too. I have a different primary

account that has been running low, but just when I think I might need a backup account, the primary kicks back in.  I think these smaller companies are the way to go these days.

I think it depends on your primary acct; sm
I've noticed some STMs give more leeway regarding shift windows, and usually it is based on turnaround time for your particular primary account. I think I would approach my STM again and ask more specifically, Why does STM X say this and you say something else? Probably you would get a clearer answer. It never hurts to ask.
so have them change you back to your primary.
nm
My primary had zeros for every worktype
about 1/2 hour ago. VERY low, espec last few days. :(
I don't have work on primary OR secondary. nm
nm
Not a single job on primary or secondary. nm
nm
TT gives you primary and secondary, how do they do work pools? sm
Do you get primary one work type (BORING) or do you get a fairly good mix or how do they set it up?  TIA
When I worked there, I had a primary acct and 4 other accts. SM
Pay was okay. There is a site for MTs to get samples from different accts. You can also email other MTs on the same account and ask for samples. I left before they implemented the new platform, Cornerstone.

PS. I worked for MQ before Spheris, but I left before all the major changes took place. Of the two, I preferred MQ.
Further away you get from primary source, more chance for errors
But can you explain what you mean by true QA editing? Isn't all editing of VR true editing? Or are you QA'ing what has already been edited? Sorry - clear as mud I know. Hope you get what I mean.
My primary is caught up, but other accounts have some work. NM
xx
My primary is even busier than usual and my back-up has been looking for extra help. Maybe time for
nm
I don't understand it. We've been consistently running out of work primary and secondary the
I quit.
That account in Texas was not a MQ account. They did not use DQS on that account until KS started.
They are moving 3 other accounts to DQS between now and January 1st. I asked. The MQ accounts they have gotten in the past did not go to DQS. I followed my old account, which is how I know, and it was Meditech. The account is still run by KS and is a big account too.
Repeatedly told another new account would come soon, but it never did. In fact, our slow account is.
everyone else's backup account. What a disorganized mess.
No work on Edit Script, no work on my primary
I bounce between several accounts and 2 platforms every day and have been for weeks.  I only see my primary maybe one day a week.  I was so excited to start with TT last fall after 11 long years with MQ and today I'm sending my resume out again.  It's makin' me sad.
Then when we MT's are **thrown on** an account because of lack of work on our account

What is so hard to understand about that?

Then we have that account info filed away in a folder in our Outlook Express by name of account and can look at past emails sent out regarding that account.  Not fun to be tossed on an account that you have never seen NOR ever received an email on.  Sounds like business to me.

You are wrong about the account. KS dumped the account for several reasons. sm
It happened quickly and was unexpected but it was really for the best. Keystrokes does not string people along or lie to you. After being with MQ for too long, I am happy there, although it is not for everyone.

I really would give them a call as the other poster suggested. That whole situation was a nightmare for everyone including management but the account pulled a fast one on them.

I have the facts on this because I have a good friend at the hospital and what she told me matched what my manager did.

I know that they are trying to give more when so many companies are giving less and taking away more.
My account has lots of work..ask for another account/nm
**
The account I am on only requires 1200 lpd. Maybe it is that particular account. Ask them if they
have a lower one. Doesn't hurt to ask. I do anywhere between 1200 and 1800 lpd. Sometimes it feels impossible to do 1200, sometimes the 1800 is quick. Depends on the doctors and the day for me. I do average 15,000 per pay period though, which is 1500 a day. Not impossible by any means, and I never go over 40 hours a week. Most weeks, I am closer to 35 hours with lunch breaks and life.
I think it depends on the account. I have one account that pays sm
$2.25 for specials and one that pays $3.50. I was on one previously that did not pay them different at all, but they were all short and mostly PICC line placements.

I worked for a hospital that went to KS and they were not charging extra for the specials. I know what they charged per report, and there was no way they were getting rich on the difference after taxes and all that. I was suprised. I was in on the bid review and the average to charge was between $1.75 and $2.75 per report or 0.13 and 0.15 per line. There were 15 companies that bid on the account, and all were within those ranges.

I went to KS about 6 months after the hospital outsourced to them. When we were displaced, I accepted a different job in the hospital and hated it.
That is not true. It varies from account to account. I have
several internet accounts and on some you do have to input the patient information.
I know the account. It is "hybrid" account that is a version of sm
Meditech that is a cross between Meditech Magic and Client, more like Client than Magic. I have been on it since October now do 1500 lines a day; it took me a week to get up to speed but they really helped me. I only know which one because my lead told me that they are adding 10 people to it because KS is getting the whole thing now, only doing 1/2 before this. I love working for Keystrokes :)
Account wen to speech from almost the beginning of the account --
Don't like ExSpeech at all.  Very bulky and cumbersome.  Much better editing programs.  I prefer to straight transcribe on ExText.  Pay drops horrendously.  But wave of the future for MT's.
The account I am on is internet only. I think it depends on the account. nm

My main account must have been an overflow account. We would
go several many days of the month where we could not pull work, so we all had to go to secondary accounts and there are very few accounts that could absorb the extra people.
Our account is an acute care account
We are low on work too and have been for almost 2 months.  We know what is happening to our work though as our supervisor admitted that the work is going overseas.  Even though we have 24-hour TAT and we are transcribing reports as they are dictated, they still insist that the work dictated after 7 p.m. has to be sent to the offshore service.  It makes no sense to me as we have coverage starting from 6 a.m. and throughout the day.  I think it all comes down to bottom line and it doesn't matter if we have work or not because it's cheaper to send it overseas.
My liaison always says to work on secondary when primary is low on work/no work. n/m
n/m
but hoping from account to account
without learning the accounts I am on will not help my line count, or help me.  I need consistency in my work.  I was told one thing, and am getting something totally diffrent.  I know most jobs will be slow, but I was told one thing and now have to do something else.  There is no work on a daily basis.  I am a newbie to this field. I have a chance to work somewhere else stable.  Sadly,  I have to take my chances else where.
Maybe it differs from account to account
It seemed to me that I was getting my lines quicker on the new system.  But that is just my opinion.  I am sure that it differs from account to account.
Yes, jumped from account to account
Constantly rude office staff (especially payroll who often made mistakes).  Poor technical assistance.  Poor support on accounts.  Very slow to reply to problems.  Like to lay the blame for problems on an account with the MT instead of poor training and support by the office.
