Does Axolotl provide computers? Do they call for overtime or offer it?
I have heard they are a great company to work for.
Does TT Offer Flexible Hours For ICs
I've been reading all the wonderful posts about TransTech. I saw on their web site where they require 5 years experience. I have only 4, and I'm looking for part time or p.r.n. hours. Does anyone know if they hire with flexible working hours? Thanks so much, and congrats to all who have been hired. It's refreshing to read posts like this.
All nationals I work for you only work 40 hours unless they approve overtime.
x
I see. So do you have clock in and out to show your hours? Do they still offer IC?

Sometimes it is hard to get a great line count on some platforms in a 8-hour period of time so I usually work longer so I can get in a certain number of lines. I guess what I am saying is that if I only ended up with 800 lines during my 8-hour shift because of whatever reason and I needed my 1200, could you work longer or not?

The can't "tell" you when you have to work, but they can offer a job for hours when they ne
It's up to you whether to accept a job when they need someone to type from 3 to 11 pm, for example. If this is when they need coverage, they can hire an IC for that, if you don't want/can't work those hours, nobody says you have to take the job.

How would any MTSO/company be sure to get all the work done if everyone working for them could just work any time they felt like it?
A company/MTSO can offer an IC a job working certain hours
that they need coverage, and it's up to the IC to agree to working those hours, or not take the job.

If you hired an IC to repair your roof, would you want him working daylight hours, or since he's an IC can he work on the roof from midnite to 8 a.m. if he wants?
We stay at hotels that offer wireless internet services, most only charge like $10 to use 24 hours.
and then we travel to relatives who usually have internet service, but our laptop does have a wireless card. I love technology!!
MDI is strictly
statutory. Set up your own benefits package; I did. I would rather be SE and have control of my schedule. All of the other stuff you can get through insurance companies, brokers, etc.
Strictly TAT
I am a relatively new graduate and am looking for companies that have TAT. I am applying to a lot of places but most say Flexible schedule which in my mind isn't really TAT. What companies let you sign in and out as you need to? Ultimately I can work 40+ hours but not necessarily with a strict schedule.
Strictly TAT
I am looking for an IC position. I have come across companies that let you pick your schedule. That's not really what I want. I'm more trying to find companies that say, You can work when you want as long as you achieve your line count or number of hours. I really don't want to test with every company with that says Flexible schedule unless this is what they are actually offering.

I know there are some out there somewhere, right?
DONT DO IT.. STRICTLY INDIAN RAN

You will get IM'd to death by your supervisors in India. Your line count never quite adds up, say you work 8 hours, your lucky if you make $50. The worst part ever is that your work is penalized for errors. It is very convenient that the people doing YOUR QA are located in India, nice switch huh.. You work like a dog to get a whole $100 a day, which takes like 12 hours only to find out your whole check was penalized 10% based on what the QA person in India says. So, basically on one check you have lost a whole day's pay. It is truly not worth it but to each their own.

they are (or were) strictly overflow accounts
so it was feast or famine. Private or paranoid?? QA person was so nasty. The overall manager had such a flat affect - never sure if it was just to keep us away or whether depression played a big part.

Games?? Did you ever try to verify your line counts? My accounts were typed with set margin and supposedly they were adjusted to come out to 65 character lines, but you could never come up with the right number of lines, no matter what line count program you used. I think they count part of the report with one margin and use a different margin on others. We had no support - technical or managerial - on weekends, evenings, or holidays. You just fly by the seat of your pants and hope you don't mess too much up.

I also did not like having to buy all the expensive equipment you had to have, like only a Cisco modem, at $350 or more, etc.
Strictly Indian-ran, low pay, and difficult communication to say the least.
The only high point I used to be able to say is that they paid on time. The strange thing was that every other month OR LESS.. they would change a pay day on you i.e. your last day on the pay period is Saturday and you plan to work that so you have an another day to get a decent check, and then on Friday, you get an email telling you that the pay periods have changed and the cut off is that day.  I am not sure the idea beyond that other than they are really tight sometimes making payroll so they try to get creative. Was not my idea of fun. I QUIT..
I work strictly through internet; they have some accounts
that you work off phone lines but not many. If offered a position, state you only want internet work and nothing to do with phone lines.
Doesn't Keystrokes have strictly OP accounts?
I thought they posted not too very long ago for a position that was strictly ops. I don't work there so I don't know first-hand, just sorta recall seeing it on the job seeker's board.

Good luck with that search :-)

They are strictly Indian-ran with a "front" place of business in Mass.

If you like getting low pay and badgered everyday by people either A. Do not understand English or.. B.  Do not WANT to understand English, then finish their test.

The only positive is that they pay on time, but they do move paydays a lot so that you would count on having so many days in that pay period and a day or two before the pay period is to end, they move that day of the pay period end so you'd end up with a day cut off your check that you expected. It seems very odd to me why the pay period would change so much. Also, your line count never seem to match up. You will work on a 5-page report for an hour and somehow you only end up with $8.  The other down side is that you will have Indians quality checking your work, which is bad enough.. but then your pay is docked according to what accuracy rate they give you. As you can see... too many red flags. The best word I can think of to describe them a company is.. RIPOFF...

Sorry, I work 15 hours a day 5 days a week and 5 hours the other 2, when I come here I dont proof.
nm
Why would they give you a choice of 16 or 24 hours. Usually part time is anything under 37 hours.

That is extremely odd. Well they must have something up their sleeves. Well I will be working elsewhere part time as well as with MQ as I have no intention of sitting 40 hours with no work from Amherst and be expected to have 150 lph with no work. What is all this window of work time they said they would be giving everyone. I figured all along they would do away with SE. I have already been looking around and ordered a new computer  to send theirs back.

Any companies that allow line count rather than hours or less than 20 hours per week? (sm)

Wouldn't mind having something extra especially with Christmas and general winter expenses coming up but working a FT job and really don't want to do another 20 hours on top of that.

the day has 24 hours, I work only 6-8 hours, so, lots of time to post...nm
nm
Strictly IC, good company, hard accounts, good platform.
Good pay, always on time, no direct deposit though.
Must we choose either 8, 16 or 24 hours. Why would they want someone only working 8 hours a week.
That is less than SE are required now.
MDI-FL. Approximately 7 hours a month x12 months =84 hours
And your PTO acrues from day 1. You are just unable to utilize it until after 90 days. They have excellent benefits.
You can have insurance at 30 hours with Encompass, 32 hours with eTransPlus. nm

What is MQ considering overtime? sm

Is it anything over 39 hours?  Or if you are PT is it anything over what you have committed to work (ie 16 hours a week?).

Anything over 40 is overtime
must be approved.  Same as when I worked for a VERY large company, it's time and a half but must be approved.  MedScribe does not limit the number of lines you can type but if you work on your day off you have to email first.
Overtime
Yes, we have been on mandatory overtime for many months.  The money is always nice, but it does wear you out.
overtime
How much mandatory OT for the part-time employees?  I already work full time.
Overtime
They require at least 1 hour per day.
Overtime
This thread in the Transtech bashing is by far the most ridiculous I have seen to date.  It is just as ridiculous as a Wal-Mart employee saying, hey I need to make some extra bucks, I'm going to put in some overtime.   Think they would pay for unauthorized overtime?  For those who are so unhappy at TT, why don't you spend the time you spend on these message boards sharpening up your resume and go somewhere where you can be happy and leave the rest of us alone?  As a TT employee myself, I would never dream of just deciding I wanted to put in overtime and then expect the company to pay for overtime whether it was justified or not.  And justification of overtime is NOT that you can't get the required lines in your allotted hours!!  Perhaps if the collective we stayed off these boards and actually applied ourselves to working, we wouldn't have to worry about putting in overtime either on or off the clock!!   Go ahead and report your whines to the labor board, you won't get anything but do remember you can't throw mud without getting mud on yourself.
I don't get overtime either
What I've been told is it all works out in the end. I get paid if I don't have any work on a given day and I get paid if I finish my work in less than 8 hours, then again there are times when I work extra hours to finish up my work when it's a particularly busy week. This week is very slow so I've actually only worked six hours the past four days but I still get paid for a 40 hour week.
It's not actually overtime - sm
When we work the 3 holidays for MDI-MD they are generally on a regular work day, so we are not working overtime so to speak, only our regular committed number of lines. I consider working 3 holidays to be fair in exchange for having the other 3 holidays off. Workloads on holidays are generally pretty light anyway, and you have the whole 24-hour day to get your lines done, so you can work around your personal needs for the day.
I've being doing a lot of overtime and have been on -
nm
Mandatory overtime
Yes as of a few months ago when I was there they had mandatory overtime. I think it is better for a company to offer incentive. Mandatory overtime is on a par with home slave.
no, getting overtime 2 weeks out of 4.
nm
Better ask if they still have mandated OVERtime!! nm
s
Can anyone say if they still have Mandatory overtime??? nm
s
Mandatory overtime would keep me FAR away from them. nm
s
I put in 5 hrs. of overtime last week, and

That's the last time I bust my butt for nothing but chump change!  I could make more standing on a street corner with a cardboard sign...........

be grateful you actually have overtime
I'd give anything to be paid for overtime at my job - I get the same base hourly rate, regardless of how many hours I work, so be happy you have the opportunity to make extra instead of complaining about it.
You do understand, don't you, that Ƌ hrs.' overtime
a lot more than that in actuality. We're paid by the line, not the hour. We can only put so many hrs. on our time logs based on how much lines we type. So in order to get '5 hours' worth' of lines, I had to work roughly 10 extra hours, over and above what I normally work.

Sorry if I didn't make it entirely clear. But that IS chump-change, and I was a chump for working my @$$ off all night for it.
So, how does it work into overtime?
Since you have all the facts, please explain.
I can work all I want, but don't get paid overtime. I don't
have to clock in so I don't know how they would know how many hours I worked anyway.
a question about overtime and the legality of this...
I am an hourly employee.  How can a company get away with not paying time and 1/2 for OT ?? just paying however many hours worked as hourly pay?  i am fearful of losing my job to even ask them but i've been with them for 5 years now with no OT pay
Overtime out my ears at WebMedX (sm)

I get 9 cents a line and there's a tiered incentive plan.  It's something like 150-160 lph they add 0.5, 160-170 lph they add 0.75.  The top is 300 lph, where they add 2 cpl.  I've consistently earned the top incentive pay, making great money.

I was a little worried the work would get low when I saw all the ads lately, but maybe the ads are because they got new accounts.  It gets maybe a teensy bit light around the holidays (like 5 minutes without work).  I have tons of backup accounts and almost every day I have the opportunity for overtime.

I'm a FT employee with benefits.  I'd rather have someone else take care of finding accounts, setting up benefits, etc.  Couldn't be happier, really.

They used to have mandatory overtime. Can anyone address this? nm
s
Used to start off at 7.4 cpl and they had Mandatory Overtime! Don't know

Question about Amphion overtime
I have been with Amphion a couple of months only and hardly getting used to their system.  I have been told to do mandatory overtime a lot and this is messing up my scheduled with picking my kids up etc.  I have to make other arrangements to pick up my kids.  What is the best way to get out of mandatory overtime.  I never worked for a company with mandatory overtime, it was always my choice. They said no nights or weekends in the beginning and then they go and pull these shenanigans.
Why has Amphion overtime been stopped?

I was thinking of applying with them mainly because of that.  Like the person asked below has the overtime policy changed or are they just caught up?

My accounts are crying for overtime. What's up I wonder? NM
,
What other job would you work overtime and not get overtme pay?

Could be that they got into trouble for not paying overtime in the past, had slacked off on watching for that, there isn't enough work to go around (ya got that right), etc. and they should get in trouble for not paying overtime cuz it is not legal.
