This is exactly why home-based MTs cannot achieve any viable kind of bargaining base....because we are too geographically scattered and we are not in a physical office where we can present a united front to the suits. And you had better believe they know this AND COUNT ON THIS to keep us in their control.

What divide?
The divide is wrong. QA should be no better than an MT, and my comments about MTs - bottom line, QA would not have jobs without us, period. What would you have to critique?
Sounds like you have personal issues with YOUR company and YOUR QA personnel. Your tone in hostile and nasty. Do you have anything nice to say about anyone or anything? Gosh I would sure hope this is not coming from anyone that works at my company. This is some really nasty stuff.
I divide out my day -
I edit in the mornings and afternoons, take a break, then start transcribing in the early evening. I'll take another break then keep going until about midnight. Since I work at home, I have the flexibility to leave the house for a while too.
It can get crazy busy during the weeks though and it gets tiring but I take the weekends off so I can still have some relaxation and fun time. It seems to work for me and my family.
You can conquer it and make $$$
I'm not saying I'm crazy about it, but I work for a hospital that uses it, and using a combination of their canned text and templates and lots of Shorthand, I'm making over $20/hr. You can create your own templates, and you can get used to the F-key thing.
My guess would be because she cannot conquer VR
And does NOT like to hear from those of us who HAVE conquered it, make good money at it, and try to encourage those new to VR that they can do the same.
That's the only thing I can think of to explain her blatant hostility. I can almost envision the veins in her neck bulging out and her claws unsheathing every time she posts thost nasty rebuttals.
Ya know what, mtme...Just because I can't swim a stroke doesn't mean Michael Phelps is a dirty liar in a 'unique situation.'
Some of us have 'it,' some of us don't. Nothing shameful in that, but your ATTITUDE is shameful.
Go keep sucking on that lemon now...
