Would like to know what their insurance deductibles are.
Webmedx versus Axolotl
It looks like you have two posts -- one for Webmedx and another for Axolotl. Below is what was posted on both of them on March 23, 2006. I guess it all depends on what you are looking for in your new company. For some people money is the top priority, while for others, benefits and being treated like a person instead of another piece of equipment are important. Maybe this information will help you decide.
I cannot guarantee this information is 100%, and anyone with more accurate information feel free to chime in, but I have interviewed with several companies over the past few months, and here are the notes I have taken on what was offered by Webmedx and Axolotl:
Webmedx Acute Care = probably includes ESL dictators
Axolotl Clinic Work = probably easier/better dictators
VR/ASR:
WMX = Starting to covert accounts to ASR
AX = Unknown
Insurance (Single): Axolotl costs more per pay period than Webmedx.
Pay Days:
WMX = 26 (every 2 weeks)
AX = 24 (twice monthly)
Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance:
WMX = Eligible after 90 days
AX = Eligible after 30 days
Flexible Spending Account:
WMX = None
AX = Eligible after 90 days
401K:
WMX = Eligible after 1 year, with NO MATCH
AX = Eligible after 90 days with partial match
Eligible Tuition Reimbursement:
WMX = Unknown
AX = $2,000 per year
Working Holidays:
WMX = You are expected to work the holiday if it falls during your regular work schedule, unless you request it off in advance and there is enough coverage.
AX = Rotating. If it falls during your regular work schedule, they try to spread it out so no one is working all the major holidays.
Yearly Bonus or Pay Raise:
WMX = never heard of anyone getting a raise
AX = Anniversary $500 bonus (minimum)
ISP, incoming dictation snafu, or Acts of God preventing you from working:
WMX = Full-time: you have to make up the time or take PTO, preferably the same day
AX = Depending on the circumstances, you may still get paid and only have to work your regular schedule
Full-Time Status:
WMX = If you fall below 35 hours per week for three consecutive months (no matter what reason), they automatically drop you to part-time status.
AX = Unknown

Good luck :)

WebMedX or Diskriter
Here is the deal . . .
I work for Diskriter. They seem to be pretty decent, but I have gotten a better pay offer to do similar work (i.e. Clinic). The only difference between the 2 jobs is that the job with Webmedx would have more ESL than I am used to (from 30% to 40-50%), but they do give you the ability to look at previous reports by that dictator to use as examples (I don't seem to have too much of a problem with most ESL dictators). Also, it seems that Webmedx has a better platform in that you don't have to spend time entering patient information into your transcription platform, which I think would ultimately save me time. Can someone help? I just need to know what would be the better choice, whether I should just stay put or if Webmedx is great to work for and is an opportunity I should pass up. Any information/advice/words would be very much appreciated. Thank YOU!
Diskriter and I believe Webmedx.
Spheris used to also.
Have interviews with Axolotl and Webmedx. Need opinions from CURRENT MTs about their future
I have interviews for an Acute Care MT position (employee, not IC) with both Axolotl and Webmedx and would like some CURRENT feedback before I make a decision. Have been an Acute Care MT for over 30 years and want to “plant” myself at my LAST job before retirement. Getting too old to keep going through these testing/interview processes.
I have researched both Axolotl and Webmedx and to no surprise the poster either hates 'em or loves 'em. It seems like both companies have gone through some major changes during 2006 and plan more changes in the future – good or bad – depending on who is replying. From preliminary information, they seem to be comparable in pay, both provide the computer, insurance is reasonable at both, and other benefits are close to identical, which is making it hard for me to swing one way or the other without more information.
I would really appreciate either a post or E-Mail from CURRENT (or newly former) employees of Axolotl and Webmedx with their opinion as to if they feel reasonably confident they can continue to make a comfortable living over the next few years (or at least not have drastic downward changes in their future incomes), where they think their employers are going in the future, if they are comfortable with the direction they are taking (job security), and if they think they will still be working for the company in say 5 to 10 years (or at least plan to, baring unforeseen circumstances). Any information you care to share on ESL and achieving/maintaining minimum lines per pay period would also be helpful. Any other information you would care to share would also be greatly appreciated in my attempt to decide the PROS and CONS of these two companies.
Needless to say, I would love to hear any negatives in case I need to go in a totally different direction. Any former employees who would care to share why they left would be very insightful too.
Any information you have will certainly help in my decision making. Thank you in advance.
Info on Webmedx and Diskriter please. sm
Would like to hear info on these 2 companies and it is always helpful to hear from current as well as former employees. Thanks!!!
go with Webmedx - avoid Diskriter if you can - sm
When I worked for DKR it was a nightmare. I would be overloaded with work and then nothing for days and I was supposed to sit around and wait for work to come in, back and forth it went. I also had problems getting responses to my questions and then when I would, they would respond in the snottiest tone in emails AND on the phone.
I liked my accounts at WEB, had steady work, steady income, occasionaly some difficult doctors and occasionally would have to wait a day or two for a response to an email I would send, but I really had no problems whatsoever.
I wouldn't have left WEB but when my family and I moved to another state, I happened upon a great local hospital job working at home.

Anyone turned down offers at Amphion, Axolotl or Webmedx - would like honest opinions
I would like to hear from any MTs who have recently (within the past month or two) turned down offers or changed their minds about applying at Amphion, Axolotl, and Webmedx. I have heard that each of those companies have been going through some major changes recently which could affect the atmosphere there. For example, Amphion, I hear, has lost quite a few MTs. Axolotl is bringing on so many new accounts everyone works OT every week. Webmedx is going to be converting to speech recognition and the way their work is being assigned has changed recent.
I decided to throw out a wider net and have been contacted by Amphion, Axolotl, and Webmedx to do testing and interviews. That's a lot of my time. Since current employees love the place and former employees hate the place, I was trying to figure out a way to get some honest opinions about these companies before I go through all the testing and interviewing. I thought maybe if I could hear from MTs who already went through the process and changed their minds that might be useful information.
I'd like to know why you decided against going with the company, if there is a specific reason -- hours, pay, benefits, bad vibes from the interviewer? Any honest opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
How much are single insurance rates???? Webmedx, Axolotl, Keystrokes, TT, Transend?
Thanks for the info!
Diskriter, Webmedx (Enterprise side), Focus (maybe - haven't looked at their adds in a while).

What is Webmedx FL? Webmedx itself is located in Pittsburgh & Atlanta. nm

Webmedx ad apply at Webmedx or Transhealth ? (sm)
Apply to one address if you need equipment, another if you want to use your own? Does this mean they are still acting as 2 separate companies? Can anyone explain this?
Webmedx?? Why do you say Webmedx is foreign??
Nm.
axolotl.com
Love that lizard.
Axolotl
When did you apply? Was it this year - just curious before I answer their advertisement.
Axolotl
Does anyone know anything about this company... How they pay??? Anything in general would be helpful... Thanks
Axolotl
I cannot believe that they are still in business. I know that they have an office in Tampa. Not sure how they are doing. Keep doing your research/investigation on this company.
Axolotl.

Anyone know about Axolotl QA?

Any info on this company, any feed back please.
Ex-Axolotl
When I worked for them a year ago, their typing platform was slooooooooooooow. I am a very fast typist, and I very seldom could reach my line count with them. I had to wait 3 minutes or more (depending on the length of the report)for a report to send to the hospital, and could not start a new report until that one was sent. Spent a lot of time playing Solitaire on my computer. If you are fast, you will be extremely frustrated.
Axolotl
Anyone ever hear of this company? I am considering and any information appreciated
Thanks
Axolotl
Any info please? It seems like recently with in the last month or so I read posts by an MT that just started with them and thought things were going great, as far as the system, staff, work, etc. Anyone please any info? Thank you.
Axolotl
Health insurance begins 30 days after you start working.
Axolotl
I have two friends that recently went with this company in the past month and they really like it. They have been offering OT every day so there is plenty of work
Axolotl
Any Axolotl employees out there?? Are you happy?
I am considering accepting an offer from them. It seems they have a lot to offer. I am currently with Medware and very, very unhappy with them lately.
Any advice appreciated.
axolotl
The management staff is very friendly. Horrible accounts with the world's worst ESLs. The percentage of ESLs was so high, I highly suspect cherry-picking. Made less than minimum wage trying to decipher this garbage, with nearly 15 years of experience. Editors who don't know the difference between affect and effect, yet deign to pick apart your work and leave snide comments. Is that enough info?
I also would like to know about Axolotl, please.....sm
I had an interview and would like to know more about this company, before I make a decision. I see there really are no recent posts regarding this company. Any recent information would be ever so helpful with my decision. Is the platform slow, how are the incentives, benefits, communication between employees and management, etc.? Thank you.
Axolotl
I've never worked for them, but have a friend that is starting with them this next week. When I get info from her, I will post it here on the board. I know they pay a referral bonus if you refer someone and then they are hired. That's always a plus. She did say that the pay was above average and more than she is making now which is .11 cpl on an onc account.
Axolotl
Nasty!!!!
Axolotl
The company is fully aware of what it means. If you go to the website, you will see.
When I hired on, they actually sent me a salamander on a keyring!! Their name is different because they, as a company, are different than any other!!
I have transcribed now for 14 years and trust me, I have never had a better employer.
Their benefits are awesome, their pay is more than competitive and I cannot think of one thing negative about them.
It's Axolotl - nm

Axolotl
MT25, I've also heard good things about this company. Could you tell me what Lotus Notes are? I am thinking about applying with them. How would you rate the majority of accounts? Hard to make lines with difficult dictators? Do you transcribe for several docs or just a select few? Thanks!
Axolotl
Axolotl expects quality and reliable MTs. Due to the fact, they do not overstaff, it is IMPERATIVE, everyone be there for their scheduled shifts. They provide OUTSTANDING and affordable benefits, as well as more than competitive pay.
If you meet the above standards as an MT, then you should apply. If you don't meet these standards, then you need to find a company who doesn't expect you to produce quality documents and to show up for your shift.
I have been an MT for 13 years. Axolotl is better than any company I have ever researched or any employer I have worked for.
If you are looking for former employees who did not meet the above standards, I am sure you can find them.

Does anybody have any information about this company. I was checking out their website, and it didn't seem too bad. Is there anybody working for them who can tell us a little about the company such as their line count requirement, is it comparable to MQ, and what they think of this company, etc. Any information would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Axolotl
Does anyone know if Axolotl is hiring? Everything I'm hearing about them sound really good. My only concern is that someone posted they only have about 75 employees (kinda small), and if they hire more MTs, the workflow may be low...hmmm.
Axolotl MT
I wanted to thank you for all the information. I am seriously considering applying. So far, this one appeals the most to me. I am still trying to decide if I want to make the move; this is something I take very seriously. It has just been so difficult to make the money at MQ with all the changes; it almost seems intentional on their part to make it more difficult for the MTs so that they don't have to pay out these quarterly bonuses. I could see having 3 or 4 accounts....that would be ideal, but 13 unfamiliar accounts with specifics to learn for each.....this, I find to be outrageous!!! With all of this going on, they are driving their MTs (even the veteran MTs) right out the door! BIG MISTAKE.
Axolotl?????
Does anyone know if Axolotl is strictly IC work?
Axolotl
Actually, I think they only hire employees.
Axolotl
Did you send your resume in and they called you...is that what your saying??
axolotl
I have never worked for Transcend but I have worked for Axolotl now for 2 years. They are a great company with a good line rate, great benefits and a very user-friendly platform. In my opinion, you cannot go wrong working for Axolotl!!!
Axolotl
Can someone tell me if they are or are not currently hiring??
Axolotl
It's just what I'm looking for. Heard a lot of great things about it. Nice people, etc. Lots of positives!!!! Sounds like a place to call home.
axolotl
What does it mean to be a Tier 3?
Axolotl
Yes, they do start really quickly. If you start on the last day of the month, the insurance will go into effect the very next day. So, if you start at the beginning of the month, the insurance will start the next month. Very affordable too.
