Can you use the Restore Wizard...
and restore the settings back to a date before you installed the SP3? I'm not an computer expert by any means, but I've done that before to get rid of a program I was not able to uninstall and it seems to do the trick.
OSi tech setup
When an OSi tech person is in your PC, I would watch every move they make, especially when they are setting up your OSi email address.
That's the exact setup I use...
Not a problem. You log into the VPN first to get connected and then you're done with that until you are through working and disconnect. Then when you log into Word Client, the Transnet opens up at the same time. It is very simple. You save your job and it pops up a new one. I can see the next 3 jobs queued up for me.
I work for ImageStat and have never had a problem with my setup (sm)
Someone else I know who had DSL had problems though. I have cable modem. I wasn't crazy about having to purchase their router, but it was paid for over 6 paychecks. That is the only item you are required to buy. I didn't have a C-phone so I purchased one through them at cost. One poster made an incorrect statement that they only do overflow work. That is not correct. I have never run out of work and I have been there over a year. The people are wonderful to deal with and the pay and bonuses are very generous. Just my opinion.
IT/Computer setup or assistance for MT companies
I'm wondering if there are any of you out there who have transitioned from being an MT/QA to doing IT/Computer setup for an MT company? Or does anyone know if they hire for that on here ever? Thanks for your help :)
I think if you are working remotely during a setup would be the only time they can "monitor"
your computer and then you know about it and invite them in and then disconnect it when done with that. Are you sure whoever is not meaning they can monitor when you are logged on or monitor your lines and work. I think most any platform allows the company to watch those things.
you have to pay for the footpedal ($106).nm

Footpedal
If I remember right MQ uses Docqscribe? The company I work for also uses this. I went to the Express Scribe web site and they have all the instructions on how to get your foot pedal to work with Express Scribe. My pedal works with both depending on which program I have open now, very happy about that!
Thanks - can you use a footpedal? nm

footpedal
Thanks so much for the advice. So is a USB footpedal different than a wav pedal? Just want to make sure before I look on ebay. I guess I will look it up on Google and see what they have to say. Thanks for the help!!
Just a footpedal.
TransTech supplies the footpedal.
As far as I know, the only equipment they provide is a footpedal....sm
and the software, so you'd have to provide the rest of the equipment (computer, references books, etc.) Their website is www.gimtnet.com
If they ask about sending back the footpedal
you could wait 3 weeks, then tell them make a promise it is in the mail, then wait 3 days and email them and tell them you couldn't find their address but thought it was in Timbuktu as you spoke to someone there recently, then .....
Anyone worked for FastChart and no longer need your 9-pin footpedal.
What will you sell it for?
My footpedal worked. I have an Infinity pedal.
The tech dept. is really nice, perhaps you should call them as listed on the testing site. They may be able to help. Good luck!
Hate using keyboard for testing ? co. test can use MQ footpedal? nm)
