I NEVER said I was staying or would never leave -
but my wanting to pursue other companies has nothing to do with the holiday pay policy (since I'm PT, I don't even qualify). I'm just saying, if you want to log on, get your work done, and get a steady paycheck, OSi can be that place for you - it has been for me for the past 2 years.
They no longer hire part-time and may be eliminating part-time employees within the next 6 months.
They are going to have those that are PT go FT if possible. Some accounts require 1 weekend day, but not all. Most transcriptionists have 1 account with 1 back-up account. I know that they are hiring for hospital accounts in medical records and radiology right now.
No PTO for part-time. Not sure if you can work part-time or not since recent rule change. sm
You do pay a deposit for their equipment.
There is a part-time and a flexible part-time, just left there and they offered
me both. Flexible, however, is more or less when they need you (I.e. weekends), part-time is fixed hours.
Seems like the good ones are staying a long time
I know many who have been there 2, 3, and some 4 years. Volumes are up right now, and we've had several new accounts go live in the last couple of months as well.
Yes I know they hire part time because I referred someone there for part time.
They are internet based.
From what I understand, the part-time positions will be only be for those that are already part-time
It is not a restructuring of the company, just of some of the existing part-time positions.
I know that there are a few employees who have been with Keystrokes for many, many years who are part-time and they will not displaced.
Other than that, there have been many discussions why there will not be any new part-time employees hired, and I really don't think they will back down on that.
I'm lookin for part-time work (about 3-4 hrs daily) after 13 years of full-time, anyone know of a
company that is hiring flexible part-time? I'm starting a career in real estate but don't want to totally quit transcription, but I think most places require 25 hours a week and I cant work weekends, as real estate sales are the biggest on the weekend with open houses and people off work to shows homes to. If you know of a place I'd sure appreciate the info. Thanks!
Not what I was told; 3500/wk part-time & 6000 wk/full-time. nm

Precyse Solutions is hiring part-time and full-time right now.
Saw this on their website.
i work 3 part-time jobs now. it can be confusing if you are learning both at the same time, but sm
other than that not a problem for me. best to get one down before starting to other or you might become overwhelmed.
MDI-MD: What are daily line requirements for full-time/part-time? Thanks! nm

I have one full-time job and 2 part-time jobs. It can be tricky at times, sm
but at least I now have plenty of work always. I have some big financial goals, and right now that seems to be the only way to accomplish it. I can't see any reason why it would not be legal -- why would you say that? I am cheating no one, except myself (out of sleep and a social life). Fortunately, I am single with no children or anything. I cannot imagine doing this if I had a family. At least my dogige understands.
Full time/part time based on # hours or
# lines per pay period, nothing to do with quality. The lower the quality the higher the pay it seems.
Solution: Find another job, part time or full time.
Post your resume, hope for the best.
Depends on how flexible you need to be and if full-time or part-time
They are a little more flexible if you are part-time. Not so much full-time, where you can be a little flexible within the day (not a strict 8-5), but if you are scheduled for Monday, you have to work Monday unless you request off, and if you are scheduled for a Holiday, you have to work the holiday, unless you request off. They encourage you to clock out every time you are not typing to keep your lph rate up, which means an 8 hour day can turn into 12 hours at the computer. If they run out of work (which they do quite often), you have to make the time up. They are also leaning more towards Voice Recognition, so MTs are getting trained on that, but not sure what percent will go that way. It does affect how much work you may get though in the other accounts.
They are advertising for full time HIM now, do they still hire part time? nm

OSi with part time health insurance and paid time off
OSi does offer health insurance and paid time off for part time. Yes, there have been changes. Yes, there will probably be more changes. I don't see anywhere that hasn't had changes. If they don't change they will be out of business the way the economy is these days, just like some other companies. If they don't make money, then I don't make money. So, what is so different with OSi compared to other companies? I see complaints constantly about all companies. I don't think it is the fault of the company that they outsource or use voice recognition. It just is life on life's terms these days. There is still enough work for us, at least for me.
They leave you alone. Pay is always on time. sm
I think you will be fine with clinic notes. I think the only accounts they pay spaces for are with Emdat accounts. Do not do any acute care work without being paid for spaces.
TIME TO LEAVE
I agree. After 22 years it is now time to get out. Where are my hip-boots when I need them.
Time to leave
I have started putting in my resume. There have got to be better companies out there.
At first things were not to bad but things have been going rapidly down hill.
I have always gotten good reviews but lately I find it difficult to work due to never getting a raise.
I do like my supervisor but I have noticed a change lately.
I have been on a special team for the last 2 years doing this one provider who expects 100% all the time. Now, i received an E-mail stating that I am being taken off of the special team because I made a couple of errors. Well, that was the straw that broke the camel's back. So, I am now looking at other companies. Another thing that bothers me is I was never paid extra for being on this team. So, I guess it is okay for them to ask 100% but it is not okay if I make a mistake. Well, at this point I do not care.
So, I would not recommend this company.
Then next time leave it for someone who
appreciates it. Lots of MTs would be very happy to have the extra money you're complaining about.
Its holiday time. I just took a part time job at K-Mart and
it is really quite fun because I get to interact with humans and do not have to stare at a computer. My part time benefits included an employee discount on merchandise from day 1 of employment, can put that on lay-away, and if the item goes on sale before you pick it up, you get it at the sale price as well as with the discount. This is a Super K-Mart, and with kids this will really help with paying for their presents. It sure beats running out of work every day and wondering if I am going to have any money for gifts.
Question on MDI-MT full time vs. part time
Does anyone know how many lines per week or per pay period are required at MDI-MT to be considered full time? Thanks.
Part-time MT getting full-time work ??????
TransTech should not be giving out work to PT people on their DAY OFF, or any other time BEFORE a full-time MT has enough work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Full time is 40 hours, and yes they have part-time.

TRUST me when I say...It is not worth your time, even part-time..
I hired on with them part-time on or about September 8, kept getting run around as to when I was to actually start transcribing. Team lead emailed to say she had a very very good account for me to start on. I was trained 25 minutes. Then, there was an issue with my ID and password to get into the system. After about 2 weeks, got ID and password, but it didn't work. Then I get an email from another supervisor advising that I would be on another account and they seen the specs. So, I get an email some time around the first of October saying I can start typing. In the meantime, Focus has a MT Forum, and I'm reading all these negative remarks from the MTs stating a lack of communication company wide, to the terrible QA department being not all on the same page, and being deducted points for blanks and such. By this time, I was exhausted from waiting, and exhausted from hearing all the complaints from the MTs actually working there, that I sent an email to team lead saying, I had changed my mind about working there. This is the most chaotic, disorganized, miscommunicated place I have ever seen in my entire 32 years of being an MT. (If there are any errors in this forgive me. Don't feel like proofing this)
Heavens, no. They are free to leave at any time.
themselves to be.
I dont have time today..
First, I would have to sift through all those posts about the bad sound quality, runtime errors, lost audio icons, etc., etc., and I do not have time for that today. I have to type for Webmedx, and I know how much they are paying me. They did not make me wait for 12 days to find out what I was making 12 days ago. So anyway, gotta go now because they have PLENTY of work.
And they are also offering a sign-on bonus of 1,000 if anyone else at Transcend is interested!!!
Were you full time or part time?
I would like to get about 1500 lines a day in if possible - not possible? The pay seems good.
Not sure about part time but for full time you get SM
up to 12 hours to do a 7 hour shift. Webmedx requires 35 hours a week for full time, not 40.
Full Time vs. Part Time
Can anyone tell me how many minutes of dictation is considered to be full time? I do clinic dictation and am wondering if I am actually doing part-time work or full time?
I have a full time and part time job also. nm

I dont have a problem with the time clock. sm
Actually I don't have any trouble getting in my time; I have a 38-hour schedule and put in probably 39 hours of clock-in time to get that. The thing is - you need to clock out when you do research or if you are surfing the 'net; otherwise it brings down your LPH average. I have a 12-hour window in which to get my time and my manager NEVER bugs me about when in that 12-hour period I am working.
Dont waste your time with Bayscribe.

Odd way of doing business. Most places dont have time to play those games. They just get rid
of people and move on.
part-time IC is 5000/pay period and full time IC is 10,000 per pay period. Need to talk with
recruiter about cpl, I'm sure it varies with experience.
I don't altogether disagree with you...
I think it is preferrable to have a native cheerful nature and yes , one can will good outcomes (at home , work , in relationships , with health and a sense of well-being) through positive thinking. All I am saying ( not meaning to scare off the OP from a great opportunity) is that the sum of good thoughts + blind hope don't always necessarily = happiness and success. As I am sure many of you MTs out there know , far better than I , there are predatory and abusive MTSOs out in the real big and bad world who would not hesitate to use and abuse either the uninformed or naive newbie. Thinking good thoughts and jumping into the lion's den unawares of the nature of the beast may not lead to the happy conclusion you hope for. You may come to learn , at a high price , that the beast has rather different thoughts than yours...not at all happy thoughts.
So , to the OP I would just say think those positive , happy thoughts on your way to success. Take hold of the great opportunities that are out there for you. Just don't be reckless about it. Make sure the great opportunities are indeed great opportunities.
Take time to learn about the company and the experiences of other MTs who have worked there , pro and con ; look at the company's financials , etc. Get to know just what kind of animal you will be dealing with. If all looks well to you then , having made an informed decision you can take your happy thoughts along with you on the road to success.
Just my two cents.
AMEN sister..Better yet. why dont we just do it for free, donate our time to a good cause.
I mean really..we dont need to earn a living or eat. I'd love to sit all day at home making minimum wage. This business has gone down the tubes. I'm just insulted.
Looking for part-time
I am looking for a part-time or IC (part-time hours) transcription position with flexible hours. If anyone can direct me to specific companies who may consider this, I would really appreciate your help.
looking for part time
Webmedx used to hire part time and they are looking for people. Also look up Amphion on the web. they are in Wisconsin. They have hired part time in the past, may still be looking - nice people, steady company.
Part time
Another point is when the hospitals outsource and MTs lose their jobs, this is another area where the MT loses! When we were outsourced a year ago, the hospital tried to really pat themselves on the back and, instead of just being honest and saying it was all about money, they tried to say they made their outsourcing choice based on how important it was that we get comparable benefits to what we had. Yeah right! In this area any part-time hospital employee gets PTO and even more importantly they are able to participate in insurance at a higher rate, but still a great deal compared to buying it privately. I always felt the benefits were the trade off for the so, so salary with the 3% cap on raises over the years.
Yes. I'm part-time, and I was able to
pick my shift. No nights or weekends unless requested, no C-phone, very rare downtime. Most importantly, the staff is available for questions, but otherwise leaves you alone to work. I have no ESLs in the account I'm on. No place is perfect, but they're definitely worth considering.
Part time
Part time is 3000 lines a wk, 6000 in a 2-wk pay period, minimum of 20 hours. I've not had problems being flexible but you do commit to set hours. Have had some sparce times lately but so has my other account elsewhere. I do agree you do not always get all your questions answered. They are worth a try. I've had my issues but will stick around for now.
