DON'T GET CAUGHT IN YOUR OWN LIE. sm

In Reply to: Please clarify how leads take the best jobs.... - Hmmmm
First of all, you're obviously mgmt. since you know so much about inside goings-on.
Second, and here is where the fib comes in: You expect us to believe that Leads don't type on their own lead shift (they're too busy, too much to do-LMAO) - and their lead shift is obviously a 40-hour shift, if the hours on the bottom all of their holier-than-thou e-mails are to be believed - when DO they do their transcription - during their SECOND shift or 41st hour ( I assume they finish their 40-hour lead shift and then get paid OT to do their typing). Are you another one who thinks all the rest of us peon MTs are so dumb. MTs regularly get the halfway decent work taken out of their queus and get h--l when they compain about it.

Something that caught my eye here is
you said an older woman. Good common sense should play into the part about the chem-7, just ordinary, every day sense, doctors, hmmmm, medicine, chemistry, sorta goes together. I would think a child should know that.
Just caught you in a lie.........sm
You said you typed 130 wpm yet you only make $17 an hour on VR. No way would you make that little with typing straight at 130 wpm. You must be thinking 130 lines per hour! 17 bucks an hour STINKS! I make $20 an hour typing and I made $25 an hour editing humans. !!!! so there smarmy pants!
yes, I caught them first
but already sent e/m asking them to forgive them. I am so flipping tore up over all this. Thanks for the good suggestion though.
I caught that...
I wondered if perhaps the OP was attempting to alleviate her own guilt about staying for some reason.
As one of the MTs who DID leave as soon as they saw fit to quit routing their MTs work, I just kind of chuckled at her wondering which MTs actually left. I don't know about the OP, but there's no way I'm spending my valuable time sitting at a computer waiting for a few reports to trickle in. There are too many other 'fish in the sea'. We were not even employees; we were SE or IC status. They owed me nothing but a paycheck and I owed them nothing but my daily line commitment.
I'm not going to be loyal to ANY company that would, by choice, let MTs sit and starve while they ignore emails and deceive their staff. My loyalty is to myself and my family, for whom I provide. Other than that, I've never had a problem separating my 'professional' life from my 'personal' life.
I feel no guilt whatsoever. It was not my role in life to 'serve' MDI (or any other company). They contracted my services and my loyalty to them was in force during whatever hours I would transcribe for them; other than that, call me insensitive or selfish or greedy, but I don't feel guilty about anything regarding my actions.
They chose to sell, I chose to walk.
Plain and simple.
Thank goodness someone other than me caught that!

uh uh.. I had 2 that were not; they caught me off guard.

I think they caught a lot of slack....sm
from the clients when the trouble was going on in India and most of their clients demanded to be brought back onshore. That is why most of the accounts are so good....very good dictators. remember, the easy stuff always goes offshore.
They got caught lying about offshoring!
Love it when one of these companies gets called on the carpet!
Other than the offshore, lied about it and got caught you mean.
maybe they caught on to your attitude and decided against it.

I think a lot of us were caught off guard with no work

I got caught in a new job awhile back
that went dry for months and it really hurt me financially. Loved the job, loved the people but was on the brink of bankruptcy. My advice would be to keep the sure thing in these economic times. Good luck to you whatever you do.
It caught me by surprise too -- I'm right there with you. Fortunately, I have a 2nd job sm
so that helps take the sting out a bit. I love the people and love the company, but I do not think maybe they realize what a big shock $30 can be sometimes. To me, the more fair thing to have done would have been to say something like effective next check, we will be taking out double premiums until we catch up or whatever. However, cannot unring a bell.
And I have always been a bit disappointed that they wait until the following Monday to pay us instead of that Friday, but for the most part it is a good company. Seems like all of the MTSOs hang on to their $$$ as long as they can -- guess the interest is better in their pockets than on our paychecks. I was stupid and am now waiting a month to get paid for work I did for a woman in Virginia. Chalk it up to lesson learned.
Good luck to you (and me!).
Hope you caught my drift....
I think you are precisely right in your perception that communication is discouraged, as I have heard this (but have no proof of it) in the past, not just about Transcend but a few other MTSOs too, that they prefer to keep their employees 'remote' in all senses of the word, including not communicatng with one another.
I don't think you're being kept out of the loop; I think the only 'loop' might be a chosen few higher-ups that communicate.
I could be wrong, but I felt the sting of your post and wanted to let you know it's probably not personal at all, but something shared with a privileged few.
Thanks for wishing everyone luck, and good luck to you as well!!!
Last week we were staying caught up with TAT so I guess
you could consider it a slow week, this week we are out of TAT again, so things are back to normal.
Caught your Cowsills reference. Cute! :) nm

Actually, we have all resumes caught up to within 24 hours at this time. nm

I caught that too - "self limiting" gawd
It is the lack of being paid a decent wage for the skill provided/expected, What would it be 40, 50, 60% paycut for the same skills and expectations from the MTs.
Management is paid big wages to manipulate the numbers, and convince the MTs - things are fine, DONT self-limit, you are being treated just fine, the wage is fine, we are fine, you will be fine and the suits march off to the bank.
My heavens have a conscious, don't treat the MTs like a backroom sweat shop, slave labor, like sewing machine workers paid by the piece (literally pennies a piece) and the product is designer labels bringing in thousands per product. Both sides have to be able to survive and not work like slave and still not be able to make it money wise, pay bills, etc
My primary is caught up, but other accounts have some work. NM
xx
Oops..excuse me..before I get caught..not "your" but you're.. NM
When I worked there about 5 years ago, I caught them backdatng the date sm
on the postage meter as if they had mailed it on payday, like I wouldn't notice that it was POSTMARKED 5 days later! I have used a postage meter before ... you can set the date to anything you like .. duh. It was in my contract that the checks were to be mailed every other Friday from the Tampa airport. I pitched a big fit and finally Giselle Fed Ex'd my checks after that. I would hope by now they would have direct deposit. You shouldn't have to sit and wait for your check and be at the mercy of the mail, nor should you have to pay extra just to make sure you receive it in a timely fashion. They have been in business long enough that they should have established direct deposit. It was posted awhile back that they had it for awhile and then did away with it because of some issue with the bank. I would be very, very careful if you need your check in a timely manner. It seems that they just barely meet payroll, but that was just my impression.
Good luck.
I caught that line also "equals out to" thought ah oh!! means what?
.
Nope, the board administrator checked with OSI and they lied to her and got caught.
c
Caught that. Thx! Something about competition clauses at the time kept them from hiring in NY state.

Wow .. I caught them doing that post-dating thing on the postage meter several sm
years ago, dating it on the postage meter for when it SHOULD have been mailed, then the actual postmark being 5-6 days later -- I thought they would have wised up by now. My experience there was not a happy one. At the time they paid by gross line, which was nice, but I was on a nasty account in FL and would run out of work a lot. When I'd call in and tell them that I had no work, the woman would blow it off and laugh and tell me to just take the day off. I had no other source of income, so oddly enough I didn't find it amusing.
You are most definitely upset that your Bush **s-kicking ways have rendered your eyes caught in the
Without MTs, companies would not exist. You and many others have no regard nor respect for hard-working MTS. You can't take it with you. I feel sorry for you. Do the right thing...and, you know what that is.
