very similar to MS Word. Easy to use. Disregard the person's post about 8.5 cpl for 1400 lpd - should get facts from the recruiter about pay and benefits. If you want to ask any more questions, I would be happy to e-mail you.
still slow and clunky imho. nm

I believe Apex is a proprietary software used only by
Transolutions. Unless there is some other platform by the name of Apex

Good account, clunky software
Umph!!! I found a job with great accounts, but their software is clunky, hard to manuever, and hard to make line count with. Several times a day, I have to log out and log back in because the software freezes up. No one in the tech department can do anything or unwilling to do anything. I love this account, but it is virtually impossible to make any money. I asked the tech department to at least work with me and my own macros and they never did. They just told me I could not use my own macros without even trying to convert my IT. Have anyone else had good accounts with clear dictators, but have the worst software program to work in. What on earth am I going to do now!!!!!
used to have slow clunky platform, don't know about anything recent though.... nm

Does anyone use V-Script software with Transform or anywhere else? Is it good? Is it proprietary? nm

Is it proprietary software you guys are using or a "name brand," like ChartScript, etc.? nm

A 2006 ad said they use MT-World software. I found it kind of clunky using it for another service.
s
Yes! Running incredibly slow! nm
ffffffoooooo
Posts from 2/2006 said they were running out of work. They use MTWorld software. nm

There software is extremely slow. Very
long wait for report to send before you can start another, and I have cable. Not productive. Could never make 1200 lines per day required and that is usually not a problem for me. Pay is on time and for the most part accurate. People are okay to work with, except for one manager who is a "my way or the highway" type.
VERY unorganized, ancient software, rude people running that show NM

Old posts say hire for Emp. only, 120-150 lph. Software said to be glitchy from a prior contact. nm

Shhh.....don't think anyone else does. Probably proprietary. nm

Platforms are proprietary...
...and based on account. To my knowledge, there are three, distinguished by version number: 3.5, 3.8, and 4.0. This has come about through Spheris acquiring other transcription companies and assimilating their proprietary platforms.
I work on TWS 3.8. It's not bad, but it could be better. The Expanders are crude and it takes some time to build up a good collection of them. It won't correct for capitalization, i.e., changing the first letter of the first word of a sentence to upper-case a LA MS Word and other typical office word processing programs. It can be a bit crashy at times. Still, many people do very well with it, and I can't fault the training provided--though keep in mind, I was trained three years ago. There may have been changes since then.
Hope that helps.
They use their own proprietary platform that
works with your version of Word. It uses express scribe.
Meditech is clunky so to speak.
Meditech is to mainstream hospital dictation and not MT friendly at all. You have to go through a lot of screens. Normals do not come easy and templates do not come easy. You have to use your F keys to maneuver through the system. It tends to go down a lot as well and you can lose your report unless the Recover function is working properly. Be careful to save your report occasionally, but this means going in and out of the report several times, holding up production. The spell check is not medical. These are all my opinions and I worked in Meditech for 10 years. If you accept a position, make sure it is on the higher end of pay because the production is awful.
I know enterprise is a clunky old thing
but some people like it. It is rather slow too and hangs up at times. What's really the worst is when you click to submit your document and it disappears and you have to do it over. It was a real pain to me when I used it. On the other hand, the tech support people were very nice. I don't know anything about chartmatrix.
Company's proprietary platform (sm)
I make normals out of everything. I consistently do 300 to 450 lph now that we can speed up the dictation.
Their platform is proprietary and you can use Shorthand...sm
with it, or ShortCut. Those 2 I know for sure are compatible. I really like the platform - it's called ChartMatrix. It keeps a running total of your lines as you type, so you know right where your production is at any given time. They pay for headers, footers and spaces which is great.
Come and join us!
Apex is proprietary thought sm
How were you on it at another company?
SINCE WHEN IS EXPLOITATION OF WORKERS PROPRIETARY?..sm
Clunky program, and I have to agree about the bad communication. nm

Depends on the account. Work on VR lately has been slow. Just like all companies, we have slow times
Honestly though, I have only had 2-3 times in the past 2 years where it was like the other day...no work... It did pick up later but I just think it's important not to make someone think we're overloaded with work all the time. That would not be fair to them if they end up with high expectations.
Precyse has their own proprietary platform, modeled after DocQScribe. nm

Very nice people, but only 7.5 cpl for experience. They use MPWord. It's kind of clunky & not aut
s
No - it is not always slow! Depends on the company and hospital. I have never been slow this time
Slow time is usually in September when everyone is back to work/school from the summer months.
Been doing this 24 years and never slow this time of year. Actually, I am drowning in work - can't keep up.
Running. sm
Good! You do that. What concerns me are MTs of my standard that might get my lines. So run Forest run, more money and security for me.
They are running another one now
which is why I am curious. Thanks.
not running out
2 part-time jobs have been slow after Christmas and have run out of work (one is cilnic, the other acute care), but my full time job has been keeping the work coming (acute care which is a trauma center and a major medical center)
running out
Working there for 3 years. Running out off and on problem, but in the past 6 months or so rarely happens (until last week). on my accounts. Sunday did very little. Today there is work. A few weeks ago both my accounts were very busy. I know they were hiring; now maybe there are too many people. This is why I work for more than 1 company. Can't rely on one for enough work.
which MQ office running out? sm
Monrovia, Ca. How were you
informed of work shortage?
Definitely running out of work. nm

Running out of work
Hi there!
About running out of work - I see this is a very hot topic on the boards, as well as in the entire industry, and it's always the same this time of year. I am a supervisor now, but when I was a regular MT, working on production, it used to be the most frustrating time ever - from mid-October to right after the first of the year. I'll never forget dialing in multiple times on my C phone one Christmas - all day long. I just felt like I was fighting for work.
First of all, the reason for this dramatic drop in work is attributed to several different reasons. It's not that the company has hired too many people, and pushed you out of work. It's not that someone is secretly manipulating your work pool, and taking work away. It has nothing to do with offshoring, or any of that - Trust me. This was a problem WAY before offshoring became the major issue it is today. This is simply a result of less office and hospital visits. Most hospital visits are generated by older patients, and their routine, or urgent, procedures, necessitating H&Ps, Consultations, Discharge Summaries, OP notes, clinic visits to follow up the surgery they just had, etc., and etc. Many of them simply do not want to get out this time of year. They will put off going to the doctor until after the holidays. No one wants to schedule things during the holidays, and even people who have minor emergencies will try to treat themselves rather than go to the ER during this busiest season of the year.
So, how do we manage it?
I take a lesson from some people I know who are union workers, and their work is mostly outdoors. Their work slows down during the wintertime. They know it, and they prepare for it. They put their funds in a savings account, or their branch of the union does it for them, to doll out later when work is leaner. You can be your own credit union. Many companies offer great - ABSURDLY great - incentives when the work is in a big backlog. Take this opportunity next year, and put all of your overtime or incentive pay in a savings account, so you can use it when the holidays hit again near the end of October next year! You could just jump from company to company, or decide to go work in an office somewhere hourly, but don't fool yourself. Neither of those solutions will ever replace the rewards for being a dependable, steady, disciplined, loyal employee of a good company. Find one you like, and stick with it, but know ahead of time that this year is going to be lean. Be ready - be expectant. It's one of the things about this industry you wish someone would have told you when you started, right? Well, I'm telling you...
Anybody else with MDI-MD running out of work lately?nm

Thanks everyone. I am running away fast.

running out of work
any companies out there that are not running out of work for their employees????
Why is everyone running out of work?-sm
Either these companies are overhiring, or losing accounts? What do you think it is? I am afraid to start my new job, because I am seeing posts where they run out of work....This is too frustrating...

RE: Running out of work at MDI-MA
Try one of the heavy ESL teaching accounts.... you'll never have to worry about running out of work. They do have them ya know!
Running out of work
I am a new Precyse MT (2 wks) and there have been a couple times when I've run out of work before end of my shift, but as soon as I notified my manager, I was given another account to work on. They have so far been very responsive to me and always willing to work with me. I love it so far.
I keep running out of work.
The platform is pretty pathetic. The do pay on time and seem friendly. I switched companies because I kept running out of work and the same goes on here. Oh well. I am tired of learning new doctors and new personalities so I plan on staying. Maybe I can find something else really flexible to fill in the low spots. Good luck!
running out of work
I left this outfit at the first of the year and my accounts with my new employer have been going hot and heavy every since. Let's face it people, people do not quit getting sick or having surgeries in the summer months. There is no slow season in this field.
To MDI-MD MTs; is work still running low; I was about to
accept a position but then I heard work had been low. I was also told by recruiter the ESLs were few but then I saw some postings stating there were many. I have been where I am at for several years so when I move I want it to be somewhere I will be happy for a long while. Can you give me an honest opinion?
Sounds like your co was not running the co
right. Get rid of them! Hire those who can do the 2000 a day. Instead, you demean the integrity of the field by paying junk wages. Smart idea...real smart! So they add to the field going into the potty.
