Concern is HIPPA related

In Reply to: where do you work? - hmmmm
I guess they had some HIPPA violations when somebody wasn't cleaning out there clipboard. When I preview reports in MEDITECH, they look just fine. I don't know what to do ....

HIPPA
Reports were saved without any identifying data. They are only saved for short time to run an IT compilation. There is identifcation in any of these reports, only frequent phrases etc. They are not printed and only I had access to them on my computer. I may have made some mistakes but I take the rules seriously, especially when it comes to privacy.
It is good to know, though, that others take this seriously as well. I have seen/heard many breaches and find them upsetting.
Also, with the new HIPPA laws, NO
hospitals tell people any info, who call off the streets asking about accounts, who they dumped for transcription, who they use now, etc. If its public info, the contracts can be researched. Otherwise, I know for a fact that they don't just go blabbing private info to busy-body MTs calling for poop. It doesn't work that way! Also, for your info, most hospitals have multiple services doing their transcription at any given time, including inhouse MTs. In fact, rarely would a large facility use one service, so your info is meaningless!
It is actually HIPPA, and not HIPAA
The contract I signed stated that I could hire assistants at my own expense. My husband is a great techie and also can lend a listening ear. I do not agree with your post. JMO.
and I suppose they are HIPPA
compliant? Cannot wait for EMR.
There is no HIPPA violation. As poster stated below
directories of completed reports as samples for dictators or further patient information. Many of the larger companies with the DocQScribe platform have that feature.
Communication and concern
xx
Whether you care or not is not my concern...
? these are put-downs to me:
(quotes do not show up, for some reason)
---Geez, it is not a business of humanity. It is transcribing. (missed the point completely on that one, I was describing health-care in general, and the callous attitude I see on here over and over again).
----you are about to blow a gasket. (? - excuse me?)
(not quite sure what this one means) ---I think you the 1st syndrome the OP mentioned and it won't work, the old the MT is everything syndrome.
If you're not doing good in transcription work, it's YOU who isn't doing well. The rest of us seem to be doing fine---
(again, rude)
there are also posts putting down MTs as whiners etc., which is what I originally was responding to...
Posts get deleted on this board a lot, and I believe only certain views are allowed.
Probably the only reason my posts have remained is for everyone to ridicule, as the posts mostly have done.
Nope, not our concern but... SM
For giggles, I wandered over to the Spheris website and this is a copy-and-paste statement directly from Spheris about Quality:
QUOTE: ** Spheris has the highest standards for quality and accuracy. Our strict policies and standards do not change depending on where the transcription is performed. Our customers are unable to determine by reviewing a completed transcription file whether the work took place in the United States or in India. ** END QUOTE
Interesting... very, very interesting (in warped kind of way.) Raise your hand if you'd like to join me in saying to this prestigious but lost account: Buyer, Beware!
Contract concern
I am wondering why it would state the MT is working for 2 companiies and that the first company (OSI) should they not pay, then the second company (Alpha) only being liable for minimum wage. That sounds fishy. It is a violation of federal law to not pay, and to sign the contract, is that not my agreeing to only accepting minimum wage regardless of what I would truly be owed should OSi decide not to pay?
I understand your concern..sm
and I can assure you that I am in no way shape or form a management person, nor do I work for TT. I was just curious as to the wording of the filing, is all. I could care less about names or anything else. I just wanted to know where to look, and I guess you have sort of answered that for me, which I appreciate. I did research a prior lawsuit on a different company in the past beginning with a K, and I do believe that company won their suit, but I do not believe it was defamation, if I remember right, but maybe false termination or some such. I am also concerned that transcription companies suing transcriptionists is going to become a trend. I surely hope not, and I am surely behind the OP 100 percent. Thanks for an honest answer, anyway.
Thank you for your concern, let me explain
the reason for my original post. I work at an MTSO that does not require weekends. I receive 8.5 per line for text and 6.5 for speech. Better than most. I love my company. I just happened to look at a few job openings to see what is out there in the market. I submitted a few resumes, and this company seemed appealing, so I pursued it a little further. Not even sure I would have accepted even without the weekend work. I have learned a few lessons today. I work for a wonderful company that seems better than most, and I will stop looking. I am glad to know that my company probably is one of the best out there, so it was not like I needed this job. So everyone can bash me all they want. They don't know my circumstances. I am in a situation that I can accept where and what job I want to. I have a wonderful husband who works hard for his family, so I can also choose not to work. Also, I never once said that I will NEVER work a weekend. I work weekends at this job if/when I have time, but it is purely voluntarily. I do not have a schedule during the week either, work when I want to. I have learned today that my job really respects the term IC. I also get annual raises. Great QA staff. So all of you bashing me, you never knew my circumstances to begin with, apparently I have it great! So go ahead with the bashing now, because I am sure there is more you can pick apart from this post. Glad to know I am so popular today! I am laughing my butt off! This has been so entertaining. Oh ya, and I am one of those who loves speech.....let more bashing begin!
No I seriously meant....Thank you for your concern...
but then I went on to explain to everyone else my situation. I didn't mean to clump you in the category with my post. I am truly sorry! Trust me FlowerChild, I can differentiate between the good apples and the rotten apples. No worries!!!
That's my biggest concern, too
The time clock - that's what I really want to know about. How flexible is flexible? Does that just mean you can pick how to split your shift but still have to be at your desk set hours? Maybe a current Transcender can answer that for us.
I understand that pay rate is case by case. A range would have been nice, but I suppose if they had said something like 7 to 9 cpl and you are offered 7 you may be mad since you know they pay others higher, so maybe they'll never tell us an exact scale.
I'm waiting to talk to HR before deciding on what to do. Pay is very important, but is still a secondary concern for me next to truly flexible schedule.
Your concern is 'not' unreasonable
It's just that no one on the board here can really verify one way or the other if there is a real problem. I realize you just want others to say what type of counter they use to see if another program squares with TTs figures or yours.
If it makes you feel any better, I have taken note of your concerns. If I spot a discrepancy I will let you know (after advising TT of course), but frankly - the amount of discrepancy appears to be just a few dollars. It took me a long time to find TT and overall they are a good company, so for 'me' it would not be worth arguing over - especially since they are adamant they are counting fairly...
It seems to me after all this discussion that the would immediately seek out and fix any true deficiency with the counter...
but then what do I know?
Does it concern you that everyone will have your email address?
nm
Your concern need not be coworkers. Work is not

This doesn't concern me, I've got mine! nm
InHealth has had good & bad posts. Bad ones concern the owner. nm

Not related in any way. n/m

Look at how many are related....
There are several mother/daughters working there, several sisters, etc. You get my point. You know they're getting awesome charts! They send those 5, 12, 22-second charts to the others. Absolutely not fair..... Grrrrr....
Related to whom?
They are related to TTD
Superior uses all different companies to do their work.
Boy, I wonder if he is related to her from etranz
sounds like there is more than 1 crook in this in this business.
Not related, but they sure like they are beginning to
nm
I saw something that made me think they were somehow related to MQ.
It was a list of companies, and Medquist was listed, and then another listing with Milner/MedQuist. I'm not sure what it means, but it sure scared me away.
Work Related
On the job injuries, drug screens, employment physicals, workers comp, etc.
You can ask whatever, but it is specifically related
to company rules, regulations, benefits, etc., best to get it from official sources rather than here.
it is probably more account-related
but like with any company, it is going to vary according to patient load and whether the doctors dictate consistently or wait until the charts are going delinquent. This is not like predicting how many hamburgers you can sell in a day. If you believe in this company and how it operates, be brave, get your feet wet! it's not going to be perfect anywhere. You can always ask for back up accounts.
MDI or LANDMARK RELATED?
Does anyone have any idea if MDI and Landmark are affiliated in any way with each other? It sounds like they both use the same platform (Bayscribe) and have very similar hiring and working practices, so I'm wondering if they are owned by the same people? Also, is anyone currently working for both of these companies at the same time and if so, how is that woring for you?
are they related to Spheris?
nm
Oh, God forbid we say anything Christianity-related!
Like it or not, this country was founded by and established by Christians. If anyone's offended by that - well, too bad.
By the way, I'm an agnostic and if I'm not offended by the words Christmas and In God We Trust, why would anyone else be? Religion is a personal thing and being offended by a major religion and its doctrine is secular and hypocritical.
I can admit who is responsible for starting this great country of ours and if anyone has a problem with that maybe they should go somewhere and make their own country elsewhere. This one is already here and the facts of how it came about can't be changed.
My maiden name is Stillwell - we may be related.
It seems so strange to see my name on the internet and it is not me.
What state are you in?
Are Medquist & Medware related? The same? (n/m)
?
Definitely not related. MW is owned by 1 family. nm

Are you related to Kathie Lee Gifford?
...
Could this be related on On-Point? Where are they located?
..
I click on the related messages and there
are about a dozen. If you will click on one of those links there are usually several other posts where others have responded to the same questions you are asking. Someone has started a private Transtech board within the last few weeks, but there is tons of stuff about Transtech on MTStars.
It's not job related but a generous gift
They believe we each have a responsibility to lessen our carbon footprint on the earth. They give the reimbursement as a reward and a thank you. Another reason I love working for them...it's not all about money and capitalism.
I don't need insurance; questions were not related to that nm

Not sure if related but I worked on Neo PLATFORM,

There are messages from Nov in related posts SM
if what you mean by looking for more is you want someone to tell you it's great, then here - IT'S SO GREAT, I MAKE MAD MONEY THERE, they let me work whenever I want and there is always tons of work and OT offered on all these easy accounts with normals. I think I'll retire with this company.
Does that work for you?

And one not related was the owner's girlfriend
One of the main players who was training etc was the owner's girlfriend. Also I believe the main players all came as a group from Softscript, which is another horrid company. This goes back about 6 or 7 years.
I didn't take all 21; I took 3 related to the job they were hiring for. n/m

They weren't related at all. Her sister-in-law is my lead and is
wonderful. This person was a transcriptionist who took over HR. No one liked her and we thought she must be related to Lee, but she wasn't.
You use their computer and you can't use it for anything but work-related reasons
Very stupid and very annoying.
is the lack of work related to hiring new MTs?
It is interesting that there was an ad to hire with a hiring bonus in the summer and suddenly the work got low and now agree a couple of weeks after another hiring ad the work gets low.
or if you're not related you could brown nose your way
.
She could remove all MQ-related stuff, samples, etc.
