Yes, Carlotta is from MDI...
Lee is from Keystrokes.
Note to Carlotta.
Yes, I used to work for you. Yes, I was one of those people who could not make their committment, but not because of a lack of effort on my part. I was one of those who was put to p.r.n. status at the lower rate. Even though I never understood that. My quality was just as good as the people who were making more, and I should have been compensated in the same manner. Unfortunately, you guys pay according to what a person can produce and not their quality.
For me, the work just was not there and after a year of giving up weekends, staying up all night waiting for the work to come in, I gave up. I was only ever to make about $200 a week at your company. I cannot live off of that.
It is very strange how I am all of sudden able to produce 1000 to 1500 lines a day, every day working for a different company. Strangely enough, they do not overhire and I think that is the main key.
It is sad too, because I really liked the people at MDI and the account I was on was great, but just not enough of it or too many people trying to scramble to get the work.
I would e-mail Carlotta and ask her to
please call you at her earliest convenience. I think she would be willing to talk to you and help you figure out what you need to do to get your lines in.
The total work available at the top of the Bayscribe page is for all of the wave accounts combined. If you click on your account and it says 0, that means your account is empty. The other accounts that are not yours still have the work. Perhaps they can give you a different account.
Is a Lanier account (unlimited long distance) out of the question for you? That could possibly solve your problem.
Of course I am making one rather large assumption, that you are working for MDI. I hope you don't mind, and of course if I am wrong, maybe this info has helped somebody else.
Is Carlotta still the recruiter for MDI-MD?
x
I think the Carlotta person is MDI-MD
and probably are hiring just not part-time.
Thank you, Carlotta, for your eloquent dissertation regarding MDI, D, and its liaisons. - VLM
As my liaison, I do hope that your message is read without the cynicism that probably has been ingrained in those working for other companies & those currently disillusioned with MDI.
I met D years & years ago,& her bubbly personality & values made you love her immediately. Her #1 concern is for the MT - a trait that is now totally unheard of in our profession & is beyond comparison - period end!! I also met CT, MD, at the same time, who also dedicated her knowledge & expertise solely for the benefit of the MT - now also with MDI.
Having been with MQ for upteen yrs.,& having previously had to turn down an invitation to join MDI yrs ago due to health reasons,I did not think that D would ever reconsider me for a position with MDI. To my dismay, she welcomed me with open arms!!
Anyone who has been an MT for any length of time, knows that workloads decrease over the holidays. If that situation would ever to continue for a period logner than I expected with MDI, I wouldn't hesitate to contact my liaison & let her know of my concern. The communication I have had with my MDI liaison & tech support,& response time has been absolutely phenomenol - I'll swear they work 24/7.
One great perk everyone seems to be overlooking is that of being a SE with MDI. I have flexibility not offered nor embraced by other MTSO's. If there is no work at a certain time, I can log on at another time. I don't have a set in stone schedule, set hours, and will always be open to Let's make a Deal. I don't know of another company offering those options to its MTs.
I think the problem with disconcent has arisen from those not familiar with the structure of Signal from years ago,& the feeling of family & caring that it created, now carried over into MDI.
Too many MTs have not experienced a company based on MDIs values & integrity, & don't believe that one still exists!!
Sorry for going on and on, but I'm just so ecstatic to be working with a company that cares. If need be, I will go out of my way to see to it that our company succeeds and,in turn, know they will return such to me doing all that they can to ensure my workload and meet my expectations.
Carlotta can explain why they do the 900 dollar thing.nm
