Yes, you need an adapter
They run about $70. You can plug in your regular phone or the Lanier or whatever in to it. It is very portable so you can take it anywhere you want in the world and make unlimited long distance calls just like if you were at home (the phone number is programmed to the adapter).
I found a 9 pin to usb adapter at
for $25.00. The one I found came in a lime green box in the computer accessory isle. They are out there, also Belkin makes them, can go into their website under adapters. Good luck
You can get an adapter for the C-phone so you can use
other headphones. You can't use, nor will it help to have USB ones, but any of the pronged ones will help.
I worked on a C-phone account and bought one, but no longer need it. I paid $18 for it including shipping. If you'd like to try it, you can have it for $10 including shipping. I only used it for 2 months.
I just bought a Keyspan 9-pin adapter at CompUSA
I remember they had another brand to pick from, as well. Maybe you can do a Net search??
If your on Escription you may have a hard time with the adapter.
I tried to have my 9-pin foot pedal that I had to use with Escription be converted to USB with an adapter from Radio Shack and it would not work. Pretty much what I have found is that if you are on the ES platform you just need to get a 9-pin. Do they not provide you with that?
They will send you an adapter/modem that hooks up to your c-phone sm
It is VOIP ( voice over IP ) so you will have a second phone line but connects through your internet .... So, if your cable/dsl goes out, so does your voip. I hope this makes a little more sense
Yes, I had contacted tech support and that is how I found out to try the adapter but it never worked
I just wish I knew why they dont just do away with the 9-pin and just either go with a 15-pin or USB.. the 9 is a dinosaur.
The company hiring you should provide the Dictaphone pedal or the adapter to play the ExText
