I feel safe in saying most of us never considered your post to be bragging.
My husband's best friend works for the City, and the employees in his division were all cut back to a 4-day work week. At first, no one complained much because they could use PTO to make up the difference and thought having a 3-day weekend to have extra family time would be nice...for awhile.
It's been 4-1/2 months now, and most, if not all, of the employees in the division are out of PTO and just trying to manage on working 4 days a week. I don't know all the details about how this has impacted their benefits, since they are all essentially now working part-time hours and have no PTO to fall back on.
As you pointed out with your post about your husband, everyone's being hit by this, not just MTs. It just affects us more personally because this is our profession, but this is truly a difficult time for all Americans.

I am torn between them and another company that I have a job offer with. I was quoted a rate on their insurance and the quote was comparable to everyone else. I was wondering if you ran out of work, easily could meet your production, and if the program was not too hard. I have been an MT for many years. I just would like some information on them as I don't want to make the wrong decision. TIA!

Nice to find somebody who actually works for them. You said you work part-time - about how many hours a week? About how much per hour can you make and what are the line rates like? I heard you have to buy expensive equipment. Is that still so? Good accounts? Thanks.
They sure don't give out much info
on their website regarding job requirements, etc. They are not hiring right now but your job sounds so good. Do you get paid for spaces? Right now I am at a company that only does consultation letters and I bet I spend 5-10 minutes PER report looking up doctor's addresses for the carbon copies. There are very few ESLs and the dictation if fairly good and the owner is terrific to work for, but I cannot make a decent living. The major issue that holds me back is I only have dialup internet and so many companies require high speed. Thanks.

I interviewed with them several months ago. For level 3 acute care, I was offered 10 cpl for IC, 11 cpl over a certain number of lines per week. For IC, line requirement was 1000 lines per week and seemed that they would be very flexible. Use your own computer if IC.
I was also offered 8.5 cpl for employee status (with incentives depending on lines per hour worked). I think they required 20 hours per week and have to keep an average of at least 150 lines per hour (it sounded like they had a time clock system). They provide the computer if employee status.
Everyone I spoke to was very nice, especially the recruiter. I turned the offer down due to reasons not relating to the company in particular. They did tell me that they had a lot of ESL (the test consisted of all ESL), but I don't know if this would apply to ER. Hope this helps.

I am interested in this place since their web site says they were affiliated with MRC. I worked for MRC for years and loved it, then it became the Q and I finally left there recently after over 15 years. Unexpectedly this morning, I received a recruiting email from them. I have sort of been going over some of the companies and comtemplating making a change. I have 5+ years in my current company, and the only real thing I am looking to change is: (1) Better pay by the line; (2) Getting my weekends and holidays back to spend with my family. I currently work EVERY Saturday. Don't really mind it, but would like to be able to make plans and perhaps rotating weekends would even be okay.
I was just wondering if anyone can give me any updated insight into this company. I did a search, but the threads are several months old, and was wondering perhaps if things were any different than those posts read.
I have a lot of experience in transcription, upwards of 16 years, with probably only half of that being in acute care. Other important things to consider in my search is benefits. The health insurance at my current company is very expensive.

Who in the world would give you any info other than an email address?
With most of the flaky ads, no one knows who they are applying to, or what will be done with their info. Their is no way I would give you my address or phone number, unless I know you are a real company, with a website and and and address and a phone number of your own. Most ads do not even include this, and there is no way I am giving you my private info, other than an anonymous email address.

I am the general manager of MDI and former co-owner of the company.
I am so glad you work for us and honestly, just give me a call tomorrow and I will answer all of your questions.
We are very stable, have been in business since 1972.
Some of our platforms are harder than others, but we do give 40 hours training pay @ $12.00 an hour.
Line counts are usually great. Some are tougher than others, but we try to compensate by paying more.
Dictators - some good, some bad. This is the way it always goes.
WE PAY EVERY TWO WEEKS. We have not missed a payroll since I opened the doors to MDI.
I think our changes are for the better.
We are definitely HERE TO STAY.

Instead of Google, try the search for this site. Type in the name of the company and it should bring up information about them. I hope this is what you mean.

I haven't looked for it the last few days, but about that same time I posted something and got a response stating MTSOs talked to each other and I shouldn't be talking about the company you are leaving No one but the company I was resigning from knew I was leaving my current employee and I had not pubically discussed the name of my current or prospective employer. I had not disclosed my employment status pubically anywhere on any forum, so how did someone know to say that to me?

I wish I had paid attention to MT Stars
I read all the complaints about OSi on here and accepted a job with them anyway which was the biggest mistake of my life. Then after I was hired they came up with the weird holiday policy. I will be eligible for the holiday pay because I am past 6 months but since none of those days are on my days off I have to work every single one of them and if we run out of work I won't get paid extra - - - - - but I definitely have my applications in elsewhere so I hope I will be gone in a few weeks. I truly truly hate this company and never look forward to starting my shift. And the posts on MT Stars were right about the Q dept. Everybody says something different and their emails are full of errors including the manager's emails. I don't know how they hire some of those people. This is a big mistake. Don't even think about applying for this company. All the bad things you read on MT Stars are true and I really wish I had paid attention to them. Also I keep getting put off about my hire bonus so that is a bait and switch tactic too. They don't intend to pay it. I can see clearly now and I am P***** that I did not pay attention because I consider myself warned a long time ago.

but their offer was so low-ball I declined, after taking their rather rigorous and pain-in-the-neck test. Then I remembered this board and started reading... and thought phew, I dodged THAT bullet!

I think MT Stars is an excellent way to check out - sm
a prospective employer. In most cases, it's the only communication we at-home MTs have with each other. With the ability to read and assess for ourselves the pros and cons of MTSOs discussed honestly and openly here, we have a better chance of finding the right company.
