not all companies allow unions. I know years ago I worked at Food Lion and they were trying to move a union into the grocery stores in that area and Food Lion was very much opposed. We even had a meeting letting us know that if we tried, the ones involved would lose our jobs. Legal? Probably not, but when you need that check to eat, you don't really want to test the waters, you know? And there are a lot of companies like that. Lithonia Lighting had unions, but, when their plant in Conyers went on strike, they shut that plant down. It happens all the time. I still don't really see how a union is going to help MTs that work at home. Too many gray areas, etc. I just think it's going to be more harm than good. And no, I'm not saying all unions are evil, etc, it's just that I don't think it will work in our favor.
