We aren't supposed to discuss our pay,
without my name here, please don't email me, I make 9 cents a line inpatient trancsription.
When someone wants to go into this business, I have told them they aren't bright enough sm
because where I live, it is a filthy backwater of uneducated, poorly spoken people.
I seen you are workin' at home, how do I get that job? YOU GO TO SCHOOL but in YOUR case, you need to start with remedial English grammar...
I have told others that I don't think they are bright enough to do this job. It requires top notch...and you know what to fill in here AND you will make no money for YEARS, if ever. Oh and ummm it will take over your life. Even most MTSOs think we are typing machines, no matter how much hunny, sweety pies and darlin's they dish out.
My company is supposed to have a QA
team that is very strict and I've never gotten anything less than 99.8, minimum is 98.5 and most companies require 98%.
oops .. was supposed to be was with, not that she was the whole company! lol nm
are you going to tell us the company or are we supposed to guess?..nm

I already tried to find stuff about this company
but nothing comes up when i type the company name in the search box.
Per the company they aren't training them to take
U.S. jobs, they are training a poor country to be productive. Well if there is a need in Trinidad for MTs someone wouldn't need to go over and train them, and since there doesn't appear to be a current need for MTs in Trinidad to transcribe for the doctors there, what good what it do to train them - unless they are going to train the doctors to start dictating.
There were several other companies in support of this venture. I can't remember all the names, but Cymed is one of them.
The demos aren't that bad, but the company s/m
I worked for them, and what the others have said is true. The manager is an absolute nightmare. The most demeaning person I have ever dealt with. As for the demographics, all you do is enter the patient name and DOB. If the doc doesn't dictate it, you just flag it and the demos deparment fixes it.
Scroll down a week or so. Tons of good stuff. Great company
nm
Aren't they the company that laid off a bunch of MTs and
sent work to India a few months ago.
Aren't you the one working for a company you hate? How
is that any different. You're selling your soul to the devil, just like you say others are. A job now will help you prepare for later so you aren't living under a bridge, revolting and quitting will guarantee you'll be living under that bridge, sooner rather than later. I'm not saying so oh well such is life, but continue to work while you make other plans, either going to school or paying off debt, but to quit work, especially in a recession is not the right thing to do. I believe in being self-sufficient, providing for the needs of my family, but if I quit either my kids go hungry or I depend on someone else to feed them and that is benig irresponsible. I don't work for WMX now, I'm proud to say I'm an ex-webber, and my kids wouldn't go hungry tomorrow or even next month if I quit. I sure wouldn't condemn someone for doing whatever it takes to provide for their family.
I believe that is business I have with my company.
An nobody else, especially someone who is just observing a situation that has nothing else to do.
Wow! If you aren't interested that's fine but why bash this company for doing something nice
employees? I really feel sorry for MTSO's in this day and age of constant bashing. They simply can't win. If they try to do something nice and creative, they get bashed. If they don't, they get bashed. How 'bout giving them a break and going back to the rock you crawled out from under?
Do you think all the headers and footers aren't getting counted? Lots of places aren't giving

This company is actually still in business. I used to work for MRC Group
in Arizona. I was so intrigued by you posting MRC Group out of Maryland, that I just called the company and talked to Christine. She stated that MRC Group was bought out by MQ. Two of the brothers went on and did their own thing, while the other owner and his wife still own a part of MRC Group which is out of Maryland and have an office in Florida. The owners of this company have been in business for about 40 years now. The husband and wife have given the company to their daughter to run what is left of MRC Group out of Maryland. The company has approximately 40 transcriptionists and are currently hiring transcriptionists across the USA who will work from home. Hope this helps. I was shocked to hear this news. Sounds like a very nice office and very upbeat and positive.
Any company who wants to stay in business sends work out
It is called a blended model. Hospitals are demanding a better price and US companies must offer offshore work that is edited by US MTs to compete. It is just like voice recognition, a company must offer this platform or lose the ability to bid on the work. It is not for every hospital and it is not for every situation. Therefore, if a company does not have the ability to offer a lower price with non-domestic labor plus have a voice rec option, they will find themselves unable to compete in tomorrow's marketplace. Those who cannot compete will lose market share and continue to run out of work. Those who can compete will continue to hire MTs and grow market share.
A company is ONLY supposed to verify that someone worked there, what dates they worked, whether PT o
and last date worked. It opens everyone up to a lawsuit if more is given, so most companies are told by their attorneys and business advisors to verify only.
No one has a right to a reference, only verification of employment.
References
They do check past references before an offer of employment is issued. Don't worry though, it doesn't take them long to get back to you. I'm sure you are as good as hired.
References
When they said they were not giving references, I took it to mean they would not verify employment. I think that in the common jargon, that could be defined as a reference. The bigger question to ask is this: Why are they refusing to do so? Don't they at least owe this much to the people they shafted?
As far as the references go...
Sometimes you can look in your reference materials for ages and not find what you are looking for. If you have spelling way off, for example, it can be nearly impossible to find. Also, I can't speak for others but I continue to look while waiting for an answer to a question on the word board. I think it is great that we can work together. In all seriousness in an office setting people help each other all of the time. Most MTs are just not sitting in an office an able to ask the person next to them so a board like this is a good setting to do so.
Don't need references
Just tell a potential employer that you cannot risk losing your job, but can prove experience (1099, pay stubs etc.)
Most MTSOs just want to know if you can do the job and a good test will show that.
Offer to work part time at first to prove ability - and don't quit until you pass probation.
Don't be an enabler for DL - they can't continue to cheat people if they have no one to cheat.
References
I believe they contain derogatory personal comments that are not even relative to the job. I think the first reference came from Richmond, VA and every time I change jobs they keep getting that same reference.
References
I think it is illegal particularly if there are a lot of lies, half truths and gross exaggerations which I think is probably the case.
references............
I've had the same situation. You just tell them the situation, send them professional references from those you do know who can vouch for your character, and then move on. That's all you can really do.
Advice on job references - please SM
It seems that most companies may want to contact a previous employer as a reference, but if you leave a job because it did not work out for some reason (i.e. scheduling issues), how do you know whether it is appropriate to request that they be used as a reference? Any advice is appreciated. In addition, I am relatively new with only a couple jobs so far, so any advice on how to handle references in general would be very helpful! TIA.
They will not give references!
I spoke to someone last night on the inside and Heartland will not give references! How nice is that?
Not giving references
You folks need to contact the Department of Labor as well as an employment lawyer. You have a right to a reference. Do not let these people get away with this!
Took out all the references to attorneys, eh?
Thank you for finally taking your medication.
And have no jobs, and no references?
in bad enough shape!
Do you feel better now? !! Business is business, most of it should be confidential. Why post on a

Amphion checks references only after . . .
Amphion checks references only after an applicant has completed the testing, the telephone interview, and has talked with the hiring manager about references.

It took them over 2-3 weeks to just get my references checked....and....
then by the time they got my references checked, they said that all they had was an opening for third shift, which I was being hired for first shift...so I turned them down. I had a little bit of hesitancy to begin with before taking the job. Then, I looked on their website, saw that they offshored, sent the guy an email who was hiring me telling him that I don't think I would be a good fit for a company that offshores (because I do not think it is right),he called me back and emailed me back franticly stating they do not offshore, blah, blah, blah...But that just gave me more leverage to turn down the job ONCE THEY FINALLY called me back...I would be very careful with them...Never worked for them, but that is my experience....
I looked around and see bird references, but
not really an explanation of where it comes from. Is it because she sang Rockin' Robin?
Did references change to refrences in the dictionary? nm

Time to jump in here. Some MTs test well, interview well, only put references on there
that are perfect and basically SUCK when it comes right down to it.
List references, equipment, software, etc. on resume or not? Thank you. nm
nm
I took out the legal references. If anyone has questions about it, email me directly.

I would recommend something other than Webmedx. If you can get good references regarding Transtech,

Only minium wage jobs check references
for some bizzaro reason, I swear. I wanted to work at a garden nursery and had to list FIVE references and all were checked. Husband got an IT job dealing with super-duper confidential crap, listed 2 references, and not a single one was called. What is up with THAT logic?! Penis=better everything I swear.
I find most joke references to Hitler to be very insensitive
nm
I love relevant, current references in posts.

Trying to build his business? He's been in business over 15 years!!!!!! sm
I also had a hard time, nearly impossible actually, getting paid. The owner does this on the side; he is very involved with other things.
If you don't know what is confidential, you have no business being in any business.
This is confidential information and should not be divulged. It is one of the biggest problems a co can have. If you have to ask...well I won't be able to explain it to you
Had the same happen here, heard the same thing, good references and good ....sm
job record will get you better $$$ if you are willing to promote yourself, search like crazy, talk to everyone, etc., but I have never been paid a cent more for CMT, what a waste, and all the years I paid my dues to AAMT, what a joke, they did NOTHING to better our field, just took the money for better conventions, as far as I can see.
why is it not supposed to be done?
I'm in the same situation and just wondered why it shouldn't be done if this had been your primary source of work, thus your bread and butter for several years and was suddenly gone. In my case, it's neither the company's nor my fault, so I was seriously considering doing this, but if there's some legality involved here, I would really be interested in hearing about it. Thanks.
Yes they do, yes it is, and yes it is supposed to be. lol nm
xx
What's that supposed to mean?
You posted your age? Should I care? :)
Were we not supposed
nm
What you are supposed to do is SM
call the help desk and ask for more work. Have you done that?
NO, we as MTs are NOT supposed to know...s/m
'the difference between generic and brand'. We are only suposed to know if it is capped or not.
And this we know only when we look it up.
Some we remember, the majority we forget, then we look it up again.
BTW: What do you mean by 'difference in generic or brand.'
The definition of this can be given in ONE sentence.
?????????what is that supposed to mean??????
