Blocked Caller ID Info....SM

Hi,


The company I am with has their info set on privacy on caller ID so when they call it shows as unknown caller.  I always let the answering machine pick up..  Is this widespread?  I really hate it because I probably would pick up and say yes to do a stat if I knew it was them and not the hospital begging for their money from a hospital visit that they won't send a bill for and just expect me to pay..  TMI..

Also if you have caller ID, you can sm
pick up the phone and just belch real loud in their ear.  I have done this to telemarketers with my son providing the belch.  If you've ever heard a 16-yo boy let one rip, you get my drift.
Caller ID Helps Me
I have caller ID and whenever I see an 800 number or one that says caller unknown or an unknown name I just don't bothering answering it.
I have caller ID as well, and I don't answer either--sm
but it is still annoying when you are trying to work to have these calls several times a day. It is still an interruption, whether you answer the phone or not. JMO
Transtech has that function blocked from our use . . . go figure why?
I am at a loss for all this blocking ExText functions from us.  Yes, I have worked on ExText before, also, and could use any function that it had to offer to the MT.
When it says "Connected", but no jobs coming to you, you have been blocked. If there were TRU

jobs, it would have the flashlight searching for jobs.  So something fishy.  Saving the work for the banker-hour MT's about to come on for their M-F shifts. 


We MT's who worked the holiday for 1.5 lines are losing money now -- when we could've spent time with our families on the holiday, rather than meeting the client's needs on the supposed holiday.  What about the MT's who need to pay bills?????  We are sitting here the day after we HELPED OUT THE CLIENT  with NO WORK !!!!!!!   That 1.5 turns out to be nothing but a JOKE and a distraction from our families on Christmas.

Any recent info on MedTrans Unlimited? newest archived info is 9 months old... m

Has anything changed in 9 months? Particular worries are the invoice/pay time; one post mentioned 2 to 3 week wait and another post stated 1 week. Info from the company states pay is sent out 10 days after the last day of the billing period, but we all know what is said and what is done isn't always the same. Another concern is the platform; some mentioned it was slow and cumbersome. They have 2 platforms from what I can gather.. Are they both slow? It seemed like certain specialties were done on certain platforms, or at least that is what I got out of the archives. I really hate to jump from the frying pan to the fire so any info would be VERY much appreciated.. the good, bad, and the ugly! TIA!!


Any Axolotl employees willing to share info., platform, ESL %, etc. All info greatly appreciated. sm

Along with the platform, ESL %, pay range, lpd required, split shift or 12-24 hour window available, I would be interested in knowing your personal experience with this company, what type of relationship you have with supervisors and other coworkers, etc.  Otherwise, the all the 411.

Current info on Diskriter?? Past info was very mixed. Either MTs hated it or liked it, does anyone

love working there and why? Do you easily meet your incentive pay or as past people have said, the ESL are so bad that you never meet the line count. I need current and new information. Isnt there a company out there that has a handful of happy employees or does all of them have both the haters and lovers. It is so hard to sort out fact from fiction sometimes and all of us have different expectations. It kind of goes along with the one man's junk is another man's treasures theory, I suppose.

Here's some info...

I asked the same question a couple days ago and got some VERY VERY negative responses.  I actually told the recruiter that they had a negative reputation on these boards and she seemed flabergasted.  I needed an employee position and they hire only IC.  Pay is 9 cents/65 char line with spaces.  They have 2 hospital accounts they are hiring for; one they will send you a computer and you will use their requipment.  The other requires purchase of a C-phone.  They are standard 4 hospital.  You must commit to a minimum line count (1000 lines per day).  No benefits.  Direct deposit twice a month. 


I was not impressed and was glad when i discovered they were only looking for IC.

They are a very good company to work for.  I have been with them as an Editor for 7 months.  Pay is very good.   Unfortunately I don't believe they pay for spaces, but a lot of companies do not anymore, so therefore, you would have to decide if that is acceptable to you or not.  You can get a very flexible work schedule.  The only thing they ask is that you work when you are scheduled.  For a while, there was a lot of emails being sent out, but that has significantly decreased since certain people are gone now.  Every company has its ups and downs as we can read on these boards every day.  SoftScript is not perfect, but they are not as bad as everyone makes them out to be either.

I recently applied to Spheris and they allow 1/8 hr block, 2/4 hr blocks, or a 12 hr block that you can work your eight hours within.

my take on it and where to go for more info

All aspects of transcription are here to stay, there will always be in-house, home-based and off-shore MTs for every speciality, pathology and radiology included.  There are just to many more doctors and patients than there are qualified MTs. 


I personally attended a community college with a 9 month MT program that included an unpaid internship in a hospital acute care and radiology department to graduate.  I would recommend finding an accredited community college who offers a remote MT course with payment plan rather than going through any of the online schools that are not accredited as a real school.  If you go the www.AHIMA.org, there is a link where you can find MT, RHIT and RHIA programs all over the country from actual colleges and find out if they offer distance education for that program as well.  Most are now about $2400 and do allow payment plans and financial aid.

Pay average, benefits costly.  Check prior postings for the account with heavy ESL that posters talked about.  You won't make lines on that.  Specify up front what you will be working on.  They overhire.
