Benefits deducted, no coverage. ADP

Posted By: Cold on 2008-01-05
In Reply to:

ADP normally processes payroll and payroll deductions which are functions separate from the administration of one's benefit plans.  However, payroll deduction is the proof that your enrollment application was submitted and processed by the payroll administrator.  Therefore, keep the pay stubs to prove that you have the coverage.

Your first step should be to contact your employer and ask to either speak with or be given the telephone number of the person responsible for the ADMINISTRATION of your benefit plan.

Then contact this company, get the name of the person that handles your employer's group, tell this person of your problem, and finally request an enrollment card be mailed via overnight delivery to preclude a continuation of failed coverage acknowledgment.  As an option so you can have immediate use of benefits, ask the group administrator for the telephone where your dentist's billing clerk can call to verify coverage.   Verify that the administrator has your current mailing address.

If you have any continued difficulty with getting the underwriter to work with you, simply advise that you are considering the filing of a formal complaint with the State Insurance Department if the matter is not resolved within the next five work days.  This threat is usually good enough to get action.

Excellent benefits at TT. I have PPO coverage with a fairly low deductible
and pay $42 per pay period. The coverage is with First Health and they do offer coverage in all states. Good prescription drug coverage also ($10 copay). Hope this helps.
desperately need medical benefits, prescription coverage...sm
Can anyone recommend the companies that have good, solid, affordable medical coverage that has excellent prescription coverage for a single mom.  Thank you for all your replies in advance.  I need to get going on this ASAP.
Thank you. Could you elaborate on the benefits, offer single medical coverage or family, PTO etc...
Thanks
$250-$300 gets deducted every paycheck for 2
depends what you consider affordable
That's awful. Are you sure it was deducted?
nm
I would think it's deducted before taxes?
x
MAYBE they only need coverage
during those times. They might have other employees/ICs that cover other times so they only need them then. If you don't want to work then, then don't work there. As an IC you do not have the right to jump in whenever. You only have the right to say I will work xx to xx; or say no, I will not work xx to xx.
They do not pay anything on family coverage, IMO. That is why I would rather be an IC and buy

my own policy versus being an employee of a service.  When you think about it, being an employee for most of the services out there offers no real benefits at all.  I have found that the PTO that some of these companies offer as part of their benefits package is a crappy.  You basically get paid a base hourly rate for any PTO you take and that base rate never EVER equals what you actually make when typing.  So you are basically penalized for taking time off.

And health insurance benefit packages are a joke!  They pay nothing for family coverage and not to mention there is always the threat looming over your head that if your production falls, they can take your benefits away.

If I were you, I would either be an IC and buy your own policy or try to get on with a hospital that offers work at home MT jobs.  Hospitals are the only places that offer decent health insurance coverage for families.  I have my own accounts and bought a health insurance policy for my kids and I, but recently I took a job with a hospital just for the insurance.  So now I have my own accounts plus I work FT for a hospital from home.  I pay $175 a month for family coverage with a $1000 family deductible.  It was financially a smarter move for me to go to work as an employee with the hospital because I'm saving a bundle on insurance.

Again, let me say, I would NEVER go back to work as an employee for a service.  They don't offer anything that I would consider benefits.  You're better off buying your own policy.

Family coverage
is about $217 per pay period. I think you have to get this one if you have more than one child.
I have the individual coverage
and it's about $17 per week.  United Healthcare, good plan.  250 deductable.  I wish I could help you more but I know my regular doctor is on the plan so I am quite happy with the coverage.  Hope that helps.
I pay $202 per month for just me. The coverage is sm
OK, not bad actually. I don't go to the doctor often though.
Yes they have family coverage

but I do not need that right now.  I have a schedule but they are flexible hours so that really helps.  Pay does include all spaces, but what I like is the direct deposit and the steady work.  I have been with Medware for 2 years and always have work.  If my primary is out they give you a back up account.  Finally my income meets my needs and I can move ahead with some things around the house that needed fixing.  Plus it's nice knowing I have good health insurance.

We apparently don't have the same coverage
I have been charged the deductible for office visits, which was a surprise to me when it happened. Also, many medications are $50 per co-payment.

If you are healthy and don't need it, I guess it's good insurance. If you use it, you pay a LOT out of pocket and now it will be worse.
WMX has best overall family coverage
I absolutely agree 1000%!!! It has great benefits.
Vacation Coverage - IC
I work as an IC also, and I'm taking a few days off in just a few weeks. I let them know a month ahead of time. I'm the only one working for this company (very small) and she won't hire anyone else, so they know what they're in for when I'm gone. I don't know what they're going to do because they always had another girl for back up. The only bad thing I'll have more work than I can handle when I come back. I'm not sure how other companies handle the situation.
What kind of coverage?
Is that pretty good coverage or a big deductible?
MTSO can say need coverage for Dr X, do you want
x
That is for family coverage.
Maybe there are people that might have had a different experience, but just giving my opinion. I have also heard their platform sucks before from other people.
I did not take the insurance coverage - already had it. nm
x
True. They may only need coverage for
certain times, therefore those are the times they hire the ICs for.
I had to drop my coverage -
I could not afford to pay the premiums as I had no work. I was basically working just to pay that.

Also, since they paid on a tier plan, I went from making over 11 cpl to making 6 CPL at the same time. That is why they do not mind overhiring - they get the same work done for much less money, so that means more money in their pockets.
I have it 2. Pay about $50 for full family coverage.
Yep, all maintenance is paid 100% - major stuff pays very well, too. I really like it, and have had it for years and years.  Nothing exciting, but good basic dental coverage. I like the $1000 a year per kid for braces! Sure helps with 3 in them!!  I think its just the normal probationary period til it starts - 3 months? Honestly don't remember reading anything about waiting a year for braces though.
That's not bad for single, but I really need family coverage.
Anyone know what these companies preminums are like for family coverage.. Thanks.
Single coverage at TH for medical is $52 a mo and add in sm
vision and dental takes it up to around $70, which is the most reasonable I have seen.
Coverage through my DH company for 2 adults and

2 kids is $280.00/mo for medical only, additional $$ for dental, vision, and life insurance for other members besides DH.   Not sure how much company pays, but not much.

Starbucks has the best health coverage -

question about IC and vacation coverage pls sm
I was under the impression that as an IC I am not responsible for finding vacation or sick coverage for accounts; that would be up to the company I am contracted with (no written contract, just verbal but don't flame me it's worked for 4 years now).  What do other ICs do when they want to take time off (a foreign concept, I know I know)? Do you find your own coverage or let the company who has the accounts handle it?  This company has flip flopped so much - at one time we had to have our own coverage, another time we got major slapped for doing so as the accounts were theirs and they would handle coverage, and now seems to be swinging back to find your own or don't take vacay.  TIA.
Probably pay 50% of single coverage and you pay the difference.
xx
I have individual coverage and I pay less than $100 per month. They pay
the rest. I think it's definitely more for family coverage and I am not really sure what those rates are. I would just call and ask them. They're really nice and helpful.
Did MDI-FL ever change their insurance coverage? SM
I was told by the owner several months ago that she was looking for a cheaper policy for their medical coverage.
Webmedx does. Great coverage. nm
.
it is major medical coverage at best
affordable maybe
Best selection, rates, & coverage
/
Goodness. I have coverage for a family of 4 for
less than that.  I would have looked at options long ago.
I'm an IC and have private Humana coverage
It's $99.05/month for just me. This includes $35 copay for dr visits ($50 specialist visits), $1535/55 Rx, depending on what level the medication is, $75 copay for ER visit. It's a PPO. The only really bad thing is that there is a $2000 deductible, but that's only if I have to be in the hospital and hopefully that won't happen. I'm 29, have never had a lapse in insurance and have no health problems though. You can go to ehealthinsurance.com and compare rates for private insurance if you're interested.
affordable health coverage

Could anyone one give the names of companies they work for with good health and dental coverage (individual plans) at an afforadable cost?  Any info given is appreciated.  I consider affordable as not too much more than $100 per month---80/20 plans okay, but prefer 100% coverage plans if they are out there with reasonable deductibles.  I know this is a tall order!  It can also be a noncompany plan, if anyone knows of a great insurance company plan outside of the job.  I am 45 and in good health, just borderline hypertensive (if there is such a thing---although it does make my rate go up).

Thanks!

I do think ppl have lost jobs / ins coverage which sm
means that basic needs are not being met; people are deciding to put food on the table instead of seeing a doctor. Elective surgery is even more unlikely to be done because, by nature, it is something you'd choose to do; even rich people are uneasy in this economy.
Health Insurance Coverage
Anyone know of any companies that offer health insurance with a company other than Aetna.  Aetna is probably great insurance for most people but almost no preferred providers in my area.  Would like to find Blue Cross and Blue Shield or United Health Care.
My family coverage amount
I work for Axolotl and our insurance just changed at the beginning of the year, but I pay 134.00 every 2 weeks for mine. It's Aetna PPO insurance. I have coverage for myself, son and husband.
WEBMDX FAMILY COVERAGE INS-Does anyone know how much it is?
nm
Are you looking for individual or family coverage?
X
I love working for TH. I only have single coverage
but it is very affordable and is excellent coverage. I do not know what it is for family coverage but I know that the single coverage runs about half the cost of other companies. They are an awesome company.
Not compared to what I used to pay at the hospital I worked for. I have better coverage with sm
Unicare than the one that my hospital used (United Healthcare).  It includes prescription coverage too.  I am about half the premium I used to be.
!60-180 a month is average for decent coverage.
Remember to multiply what you have taken out every 2 weeks by 26 or twice a month by 24, then divide by 12 and you will see what you really pay.

BC/BS - single is reasonable and good coverage...
Family is outrageously expensive. I know they are trying to change it, but still expensive.
It would really appear that you are paying for your own coverage with no employer contribution.
I currently have employer contribution and my portion is $140 a month, but it is for excellent coverage, $25 copay, $500 deductible etc.. How can they justify having the employees pay all of their insurance and say they offer benefits. I guess they should say we offer benefits that you pay for.. LOL..
Webmedx has the best overall family coverage plan.....nm

I believe they have several to choose from - affordable and decent coverage, IMO

What is family health coverage like at AllType?
