Don't take things personally. I know it's hard, but don't. Cannot worry

It is hard. Need to ignore anything going on and only do things when taking a break, like laundry,

Agree, lines are hard to get. I also think the sound quality doesnt help things. nm

If you are thinking of going to work for OSi
The OSi policy change has been discussed a lot lately on this board but if you decide to work for OSi anyway be sure to wait until after the holidays are over. Here's why.
You will not be paid any extra for working on the holidays for 6 months after you are hired. There is a 6 months waiting period.
After that - in order to be paid extra for working on holidays you will have to maintain at least 98% on QA for the previous 6 months.
You cannot be on 100% QA for any reason during the previous 6 months.
You will have to make your line quota for 6 out of the 8 previous pay periods, and if work is low or you take PTO or anything else TOO BAD.
You can't take any time off for 2 WEEKS prior to the holiday.
You must work as scheduled the day before and the day after the holiday.
You must type at least 1000 lines the day BEFORE the holiday. If work is low (as it always is around the holidays) TOO BAD.
You must type at least 1000 lines the day OF the holiday. If work is low (as it always is around the holidays) TOO BAD.
Sorry to keep bringing this up but it is mainly to tell anyone thinking of going to work for OSi that if you signed on right now for a Sunday - Thursday schedule you would have to work this Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with no extra holiday pay simply because you have not been there for 6 months. If you signed up for Tuesday through Saturday you would have Christmas Eve off but nothing else. The same schedule obviously goes for New Year's.
BTW you are monitored by OSi's very own instant message system. It is mandatory that you are signed on to this so you can be at their disposal. So you WILL work the holiday for EIGHT HOURS even if there is no work. You WILL be glued to your computer so you can play the instant message game even if you have no work.
This is just the latest jewel from OSi and probably comes from the fact that their new money partner has Indian interests. OSi has always offshored to India, and with the new partner this will only get worse.
People have been warned time and again on this board but there were so many supporters of OSi that the posts would end up being removed by the board administrator because it would get ugly.
Guess what? OSi's supporters are leaving now with egg on their face myself included. Are there enough MT jobs to go around for everyone who is leaving OSi along with all the other MTs? Who knows? Whether you are a current employee or potential OSi employee better make your move now to another company or find another line of work.
Truthfully - from an ex-OSi supporter who is now desperately looking for another job and I sure hope I find one before the holidays. I don't care about my good standing or promotions or tenure at OSi any more. I just want OUT - RIGHT NOW.
I'm thinking I work there,

I don't work there, I was thinking about applying. nm

I'm thinking I work for the same company....
but the queue shut off is new to me. Was this in an email or a recent conference call?
I am sure they work extremely hard, lol.
They are used to that from setting up their dirt houses and what not. They are used to working hard trying to fight for food scraps.
Employees that work hard
I am sure that this may be the case in some instances, but to lump sum all MTs/editors/employees is not fair and accurate. I am a very hard working employee. I work 7 days/nights/weekends every week. I work and volunteer for ALL holidays even when not scheduled and I worked WHENEVER I was asked to work extra to cover for vacations or sickness. I have not complained, I have always been SO thankful to have my job. What did that result in? Well, let me tell you. I am now one of the Heartland Information Services laid off employees!!!! It did not matter in the end how many hours/days/nights/weekends/holidays that I worked, I am no longer employed by the company I had planned to retire from!! My loyality was betrayed and I am just supposed to keep going on and being loyal again? Think about that one! Respect and loyalty is a two way street. Treat the employees how they want to be treated and you will be treated with respect and loyalty as well. It cannot be low pay, minimal benefits and lay offs at a drop of a hat and in return expect absolute loyalty from employees. We have to work together in the end.

I work very hard, usually 7 days a week.
I work any hours needed. What is my reward? I get stuck on the garbage accounts, the ones who bellyache get the easy accounts and get put on steady accounts. I think I have learned 8 new accounts in the last 2 months, and none of them were decent accounts. My line count is good, but would be wonderful if I ever had an account I could get used to. These companies beat you up and then throw you to the dogs.
The scum that plays kiss-$$$ get paid more, take off when they want, and get choice of days off, holidays, so they can be with their ill-behaved brats whenever they want to be.
Don't tell me about ethics, tell the MTSOs they need to improve their ethics and then then they could have decent employees.
TT is a great place to work for. It is not that hard to
reach and maintain a decent line count. Incentives are fair and not to hard to reach. ExText is the best platform, at least in my 18 year experience. Great people, tons of work and the ESL percentage is about 20-25%.
I make that much $ too but i work very hard. Its possible, not easy.
x
You'll work twice as hard to get half as much, it seems
z
Hard to get work, but feedback really great.
Wish there was so much work I could be off DQA in time, and pay the bills, it would be so wonderful! How are you doing.. Hope you are hanging in! :)
when you say "for those that work hard," what precisely do you mean? sm
Please elaborate. I'm assuming at the very least, 8 hrs/d, or more like 10 hr/d? 12 days? ??!! Ridiculous.
Or perhaps, 72 hrs/pp?

Why is it hard to produce quality work?
You are either good at your job or not. If not, then find another line of work. If you don't think you are paid enough to take the time to produce quality work, then find another company to work for.
I also work for Warminster. Thinking of trying to transfer out. It is now the NE and yes multiple
accounts all the time. Warminster has always done this and I hear the same for the NE so may be time to look at other MQ offices.
I find it very hard to believe that all work types are on a 1-hour TAT(sm)
Are you talking about stats or everything? Do you have this 1-hour TAT in writing? I've never even heard of hospitals being on that tight a TAT.
Life is about choices. Nobody forces her to work so hard and
put in so many hours that she's hiring people and ignoring them. I don't agree with that, no matter what the excuse is. We're all busy people. We all have lives. That doesn't mean you have the right to mess with people's income and careers. Employees or ICs aren't just disposable commodities that you toss aside on a whim. It's called RESPECT for your fellow humans.
When there is a lot of work, do you find it hard to make 1100?
cause I sure do.
lol You'll be hard pressed to find work with

Not a good company. Their pay is low and software hard to work with sm
although now they say DocQScribe which means they have picked up MQ accounts like other companies. I would stay away.
At first I was thinking that you were being unrealistic, not thinking about taxes, benefits, etc. bu
surprised to find that you are not asking the moon. Let me clarify a few things: Rates charged are not as high as 0.25 per line, but no one that has U.S. employees goes as low as 0.115 or they would not be able to pay their bills. A more realistic range is 0.125-0.165, and that top end is hard to find, most falling at 0.14-0.15 per line.
The rates of pay you propose are very reasonable IF the following is true: These are seasoned MTs who do not need a lot of hand-holding, QA or blanks filled in, unless a very difficult/impossible doctor.
How about a scale based on experience and accuracy of 0.09 - 0.105 per line (acute care), and $1.15-$1.30 per report (radiology)?
The VR one is tough as everyone, MTs and MTSOs and facilities are still feeling their way on this. As an MTSO who was an MT, I feel that VR editing is as difficult to do as regular transcription. I don't think that it should be substantially less pay or charged less as the end product is still the same.
Funny thing here? My company already follows that scale. We should work together, not at odds, to reinforce this industry and bring it back to where it should be, right here in the U.S.A. with a decent paycheck.
Why is pay rate confidential? It is YOUR money that YOU made with YOUR hard work. You should be

How are things going with Futurenet? Is there still no work> sm
Futurenet work has slowed down majorly. Has anyone else's picked back up yet? I thought we had new accounts coming on? If so, are they are going to hire some people? Does anyone know what we can expect?

s
But a 'Thanks for Your Hard Work' email wouldn't cost them a penny :-(
It's not even about a gift, really. It's just more about the lack of acknowledgement in general.
I'm sure a lot of MTs, not just MDI people, are feeling a bit disillusioned and unappreciated this week.
Does Transcription, Technology, & Support send work to India? Thinking of applying if not.
Does anybody know.
I can see a lot of problems in this way of doing things. That sounds to me like everyone's work i
up for grabs so that would push those MTs that have their acccounts grabbed up go onto other accounts. If you think this doesnt affect quality I think you are totally crazy. There are a lot of people that simply cannot do a good job on accounts this way and they are very good MTs. Very bad way to do business. I am sure quality is hughly compromised. It is always always best for quality and line counts to keep people with what they know. Even the hospitals can see who is in there and they know there are a lot of unknown MTs in their accounts and if the quality goes down or a lot of work is tied up in QA those hospitals are gone to another company.
I work there and things apparently have changed since you were there.
Not all the people you named are still there nor is the dental plan Delta. It is Guardian. Insurance is excellent.
Now, they hire employees and not ICs. They do that for a reason. They can better schedule and meet TATs that way. I think employee status warrants meeting your hours, but what I do know is that they do allow some flexibility and if you need it, all you need to do is say it as long as it is not 12-hr flexibility. If you have to run out and get the kids, tell them.
This company is a good company. The people are quite nice. Their QA staff is good. They do follow the BOS to a tee.
It's a personal choice, but if someone did not at least check them out, I think they are missing out. They are very good. Best QA staff I have ever worked with.
But that is why she has people who work for her, to take care of other things when she has

My how things have changed. I am now drowning in work from
the new clients, I guess, and they are bringing on two more this week. Hip, hip, hooray! Might even get a bonus!!!
I am wondering if employees with Futurenet have a hard time having adequate work flow..sm
Just started there not too long ago, but now finding out I am running out of work frequently. I have several accounts that I can work on, but all are empty most of the time. Have they overhired or is this the normal?
Unless things have changed drastically, they are NOT nice to work for.
You will get calls at all hours to work, mostly because no one has enough sense to realize that there is a big time difference between the east coast where they are and the west coast where I am. I routinely got calls from Rose between 4 and 5 a.m. to see why I was not working when my schedule was for 7 a.m. pacific time. The accounts were awful. And the recruiter is just that - do not believe all the praise and glory she heaps out. She may be sweet but don't fall for her line of bs.
If things don't work out,, the Diskriter FL Hosp position (sm)
Pays for downtime when work runs out and benefits are pretty decent.
Glad to hear things are better. Hang in there. I know how hard it can be... this profession just isn't what it used to be.
Good luck to you!!
Maybe they dont answer because there is no work to get.Best way to avoid things I guess.
:
Just how are they to work for as far as accounts, ESLs, etc. The usual things such as how they treat
the MTs and so on.
? That's kind of a blanket statement; things are fine on the accts I work on. sm
Yes, it was slow a couple weeks ago but started picking up last week.
PS - Yes, they pay for spaces.
I've been there for years, work on the DSG1 side of things, pay on time, direct deposit, more
feedback lately. I have always found the staff and MTs helpful and friendly. Work does fluctuate, but if you have a few accounts, should keep you busy, also sound quality can be an issue but mostly okay.
Getting the worst shift and worst work are two different things...
If you are new, you may not get the best shift, but everyone should share in the difficult work. No one person should be stuck with ESLs because they are new. Maybe the new hires won't get first pick of holidays...things like that, but shouldn't get stuck with all ESLs. Doesn't make sense.
No. Expect good things, and good things will come
x
That's exactly what I was thinking
I didn't see anything about 10 cpl for ESL accounts. Thought I was losing it.
