Love it when one of these companies gets called on the carpet! 
It has nothing to do with MTStars or the owner of MTStars. It
has to do with the fact that the person who posted gave enough information that the company recognized who it was. We, at MTStars, do not give anyone information about who posts what.

Banned but WTH
I had this happen to me already. I stuck around to see if I could etch out enough to live on but could not. If you are going to face serious cuts in pay, check with UE first so you don't end up as I - making 55 grand one year and 12 grand the next. My credit is ruined and the stress has been the greatest I have ever experienced in my life - divorce didn't touch this, nor did my parents' deaths nor my only siblings. I am SCARED.
Why were the companies banned?
Why were companies who bought ads banned? And who were those companies? How do YOU know the companies were banned?
I got banned for a month.
I was told it was not cool to poke fun or make negative comments regarding the job seeker's board ads because the moderators want the companies to post here so that we can be offered positions. In other words if you don't have something nice to say then leave it alone and don't pick apart the job posts. I am clearly just trying to warn these posters. That's why I'm posting. I probably should stay out of it, but I would never have thought I could get banned for making a comment, but it happened to me. Now I don't know whether the person that posted the job ad reported my post or not to cause the ban, but I was banned. Just trying to warn others that's all.

I really don't think it's lying. When they
assume that to mean as part of the everyday situation. You're are just starting up with this company and I think it's expected that you would type a few days to become familiar. What will you do if a new account comes on board? Usually, as QA, you'd be the one to test the account out and get the feel for it before offering advice/suggestions to the MT staff. I guess you could always refuse to type and just not get paid for that time?

Keystrokes does not give pay raises. I have been with them for several years and have not received a pay raise. I meet my line requirements when there is work available (more often than not). I would suggest that if anyone is accepting a position with Keystrokes, do not leave your other job until you have worked a couple of days to make sure it is really what you want.

And I am entitled to my opinion. I didn't say all MTSOs are ethical in their business operations but most are.
Seriously, if you read over the board, it looks like a few oldies who are bitter or newbies who cannot get their foot in the door. It doesn't sound like professionals with realistic complaints. It sounds like very withdrawn, angry individuals who do not come out of their shell except on anonymous boards. :)
For the MTSOs who are unethical ... I think they should absolutely be shut down.
Still yet, no one forces you to work for any company. It is entirely your choice. So, make a different one, please.

There always seems to be a few with their heads in the sand at Spheris - but please! Go look at your corporate email list and see how many Indian names are on it! It grows every day. Good accounts at Spheris disappear every day and that's where they go. You never read the company forums? Just because your job is still fine doesn't mean you can ignore the suffering of the majority of your fellow employees! And to recommend someone else go there just to get burnt is really mean.

100% Indian, so I guess saying they don't offshore to India isn't a total lie. They just have an address in the US, which someone posted previously was actually a residence.

True, and it seems less people care. I get angry when I see the lying ad sm
but I am powerless to stop it, so I might as well give up. I wonder if the clients even know what really happens to their dictation, that it goes to India first, then to the MTs. The work IS done by american MTs, so that is a plus, although they even tried outsourcing to another Indian company and lied to the MTs that it was due to the holidays ... this was at the end of January, no holidays.
If they want to be upfront and say they are an Indian-owned, Indian-operated company employing mostly American MTs, that's one thing -- people can make an informed decision -- but to say Kentucky based when the company HQ is in India is nothing other than deceit, and my fellow MTs deserve better than that. 
Bet no good QA now - they've chased them away by bouncing checks and lying.

There are lots of dubious posts out there by MTs who are sure they know the truth but maybe they stretch things too b/c they had a bad experience; maybe they were legitimately let go and now have it in for someone. Anyway, I don't think there is any legal coverage on this site or any other b/c (as stated) it is an anonymous forum.
Basically take everything with a grain of salt!

they are taking resumes, doing testing on their web site. I'm tired of going through applying, testing, etc. and then finding out the company is a nightmar so I thought I'd check firrst
Well, they are advertising for a
recruiter so I think they need to get that position filled so they will have someone who will reply to all the job applicants they have. Now, that is just my opinion.
Where are they advertising?

This board is really a great help when looking for employment. There are many positive posts that turn out to be decent companies, and then there are also negative posts about experiences each person has had. Both perspectives should be allowed and not discouraged with threats. Just maybe, these companies that are trying to decrease our wages even further and are deceptive in their business practices will be put out of business eventually and we might see a new trend. There are a few businesses posted about regularly on this board that have the same issues come up time and time again. I see these as red flags. On the flip side it is just as important to let people know if you've found a good thing (this does not include recruiters on here making untruthful posts for their benefit). This might encourage companies that are treating their MTs well and are above reproach to continue to strive towards making this once again a decent career path. One could only hope that a board like this would be able to make a significant difference in the way things have been going by networking and sharing our information.

Be prepared to have to buy expensive equipment, like a $300+ Cisco router because they claim nothing else works with the system, and they have a very odd, untrackable method for counting lines. It is gross lines, but sometimes the margins for reports are very wide with a tiny font. Feast or famine with them because they do overflow work only. QA is not nice, either.
They'll keep advertising.
They need Americans who will perfect voice recognition for the Indians.
Then they won't have any use for us any more.
