Well there is completeness and organization
and then there is padding. Tabbing would get you the kind of attention you are not looking for because that's not standard. Don't use unnecessary abbreviations, but don't be spelling out COPD every time, either. It's just too common and understood. But there are many abbreviations that doctors may say that they don't necessarily mean you don't spell out. I hear bili I type bili, but it changes to bilirubin. Same with lymphs, eos, etc. Find out the proper names of hospitals. They say RCH, you have your shortcut to put the real name in. Have shorcuts for bacterial names. I type ecoli and I get E. coli. But if I type ecolij, I get the whole thing. You'd want the whole thing at least once in the report - usually the first time and/or in the diagnosis. Things like that are legitimate. Even eratic dictators often follow the same physical exam, so at least have normals for those. Often the ROS also. And you could add the usual subheadings there even when not dictated without getting in trouble. There is no telling how your counter has been configured as far as how things are counted, but some day somebody might take a fine-tooth comb to your work, so I don't suggest you start spelling out three-digit numbers or anything else you can't justify. Other MTs see stuff like that and they will scream - padding. And if you get in bad habits it will be harder to change in the future. In other words, be honest but thorough.
They are supposedly a Christian organization

I would love to find another organization dedicated
to the American MT. I dropped AAMT really quick when I found what they were doing. In one of their news releases they more or less blamed American MTs for the need to go overseas to find members. They were begging for more members because of the loss of money to the organization.
What would American MTs want or expect from new MT organization or union? What kind of benefits
would you all want? What kind of resources or services would you expect? How about certification exams - necessary or not? What about MT education, industry standards, etc? Would you change some of the BOS rules?
I'm curious. A fellow MT and I used to say the AAMT was lacking and recently with all the outsourcing and MTs losing jobs and the AAMT turning a blind eye, I've been thinking again that we need a organization that better defends and represents the American MT.
I feel like Norma Rae!
Yep, it's for selling some kind of health supplements from home, like an Amway organization. nm
