At my co, I would make $5 per hour LESS to be a lead vs. production pay. nm

As a shift lead I made $15 an hour, but did QA plus lead duties...
I also worked terrible hours with no differential for them. I think it just matters on the company.
$14 hr for pt team lead rest production
and yes all we do is assign jobs when coordinator is off, easy money though
think, people! If she does 250 lines/hour, same docs daily, will make $15/hour
nm
what's not to believe - I said that I charge $35/hour and work 10 hour days AND DO NOT MAKE - sm
I DO NOT MAKE $100,000/YEAR
try READING the post.
$20 an hour is not even average for radiology. You should not make less than $25-30 per hour. sm
I work for Keystrokes and have for 3 years. I average 25 reports an hour, which is $31.25 an hour. I have 401, health insurance, direct deposit, life insurance. My lead tells me I'm wonderful when I talk to her, but I do not need a daily pat on the back.
I also have a good friend who works for them on a clinic. She only makes 0.08 per line but does 300 lines an hour, which is $24 an hour, again higher than your $20.
I don't think we're selling ourselves short. There are companies out there that are good to work for, 6 or 8 of them that I know of personally. Don't settle for $20 an hour.
Webmedx offers a production bonus based on your lines per hour sm
over a minimum amount. Amount varies by amount produced. Not split in a pot like mentioned above. I don't understand how that would work?
I guarantee you, you are not the norm. Why lead someone that needs to make a living into a
situation that is getting worse all the time with lost accounts and over hiring and not knowing yet what the pay scale will be.
YES...a ton of them, hard to make production..nm
xxxxxxxxx
I was told we have 3 months on VA to make the new production....
interesting, since no one can make it anyway, wonder what they are going to do about that?
Not production but can make a lot of money at Med. Bazaar.
abctranscription@insightbb.com
They weed out, if you don't have work you can't make production. (sm)
Or are you talking about weeding out quality wise?
Really? Most MTs I know make between $20-30 per hour.
x
I make $14 an hour as QA and looking
NM
Uh, you said you make 4 cpl, $20-something per hour.
At just $20 per hour, that's 4000 lines per day.
Also, many companies pay less than 4 cpl & many MTs are used to making more than $20/hr.... so even more lines. It's ridiculous.
HOW MUCH ON AVERAGE DO YOU MAKE AN HOUR?
WHAT IS THEIR AVERAGE PPL, ETC.
Figure out how much you make per hour now and
.
I make much more than $17 an hour, more in the $30 range. sm
You sold yourself short. Did you pass their test?
Things that are good are sometimes worth waiting for. Why do you call it BS when you know nothing about the company other than you applied? Geesh. This must be Keystroke's week to be bashed. Who is next week?
I agree...I make anywhere between 25.00 and 28.00 an hour....
it is possible...but like the above poster said, you need to utilize Expanders and I have my own doctors also...no templates but having your own doctors helps...
I WISH I made $11.75/hour! Used to make more
This business makes no sense at all.
I make more than $28 an hour on average so
I am curious to hear about your union attempts but I will never join. I will be one of those taking up the jobs given up by those who attempt this.
You are entitled to spend your time, energy and money where you wish. I hope you don't come out of this attempt feeling defeated or hurt but I am afraid that will be the case.
So, for your sake I wish you well but I will not be a supporter of the union.
How on earth do you make $35-$50 an hour?
Would you mind telling how many lines a day you type and how much cpl you get paid? I just don't see how anyone can type that much that fast. Wow! I'm in awe! Have any tips for us slow pokes with attention problems?
OK, all of you on VR who make $20 an hour, please post.
And please, not the same 1 person posting over and over again who is obviously MANAGEMENT. If you are truly making that much money doing VR, I would hate to see the quality of your work. Oh, wait, I probably already have. Looking up old reports, the quality I am seeing is... not that great, to put it mildly. Obvious, GLARING errors. VR: Good for MTSO. Not good for MT--or for PATIENT CARE, to put it mildly!
Im thinking by the hour and make it well worth your while. nm
x
Agree. I would love to make $20 an hour
nm
Can acute care make $17 an hour?
Yes. With WMX, in December, straight typing, I was making $25.73 an hour. Started VR in January, now averaging $20.73. Sucks.
Unions in Canada, MTs make $23 hour plus Yep
I communicate with an MT in Canada and that is what she relayed.
Actually I didn't quote a figure that I make per hour....sm
(it is above $25/hour, however) but I will say this: if the MT field is one's chosen area, then investing in it is a must. That means, instead of calling others who state they make healthy per-hour wages liars, your time would be better spent in getting as much info as possible in how that was achieved - and learning from it as well as adopting whatever it takes to help YOU. It means spending more time learning and less time bashing. It means concentration on retention of info, both old and new, to further your knowledge. It means learning what works best for you - not the next MT or whomever has posted on this board. It means taking feedback, again, without whining about it. I know of no other field where criticism isn't an essential factor - again, use it *positively* and don't let it affect you negatively! It means being open to trying new specialties when asked - you never know until you try - maybe it's just what you needed! There is a whole host of other things that you can try, but TRYING them is the key. Nothing ventured, nothing gained - and gain IS, after all, what it's all about, isn't it?
Yeah, take home 70% for IC and make aprox $10.50/hour or .04cpl

Keep puckering up, maybe someday you'll make that big $14 an hour. Best of luck to ya. nmsg

? for any lead at Keystrokes. What does a lead do?
Do they do QA, mentor, or ....?
You can e-mail me privately if you like.
Some of us choose neither to lead, nor be lead!
I guess I just don't have that 'pack mentality'.
100,000/year - no way. I charge $35/hour and work 10 hour days - sm
AND I DO NOT CLEAR $100,000/YEAR.
$35/hour x five 10-hour days = $1,750 gross/week.
x
Well if I could do 500 lines per hour, I would be making 35.00 an hour. sm
nothing to sneeze at. More than fair for having a 2-year degree. Come on people, we are all acting like we expect 6-digit incomes! Whatev!
If that's $9.50 an hour, that would be just under 6.5 cpl at 150 lines an hour. nm
s
Are there any QAs out there that are getting paid by the hour at 15+/hour? If so, where are you and
how are the work conditions/requirements/benefits,etc?
For example, I count every hour on the hour with my job
and while I was posting here and also checking email in between I averaged $22 an hour for 2 hours, not bad for someone who is a) slow or b) does not have a lot of time in transcription work; therefore making me a prime candidate for VR.
Are you a lead or IC? Only getting 8 here!
you are a lead?
I can't believe that.
TO KS MT and KS LEAD - sm
I am not a basher, but I just wonder that EVERYTIME a thread about Keystrokes is started, one or both of you come on here and JUMP down the throat of ANY poster, calling them bashers. What do you call your attitudes and responses? Surely, if Keystrokes is the wonderful company you say it is, it shouldn't need to be defended the way you both do it (which sounds suspiciously like management talking), and would stand on their reputation? I have to say, I don't work there, never have, so don't accuse me of lying or not cutting it, but both your attitudes leave a bad taste about how things really are behind the scenes. You seem to be doing more harm than good for Keystrokes by the tone of your posts. Makes an outsider wonder what you both are protesting so much about?
I am a KS lead
I do not assign the work on my account. The facility routes the work to us. Cannot speak for other accounts that I do not work on. However, as has been said before, I find Keystrokes to be honest and pro-transcriptionists.
Then don't become lead
and you will continue to love it. Leads are the ones who are verbally abused by management at the whim of whatever account they are over.
I don't know but seems she was a lead in name only nm
Maybe it's your lead. sm
Email me, I will help. I have a great relationship with Becky and Karyn and sometimes they don't know if they leads don't tell them. I am a lead, and busy as can be on my accounts, so I could use you if no other accounts. I also know that there are always new accounts, three in my area alone in the last 2 weeks with 4 more going live in April. I will try to help.
KS Lead
Thank you for your response. Do you know anything about the ExText platform? Is it easy to use, fast in performing various functions, with few technical problems? I've seen pro and con on ExText and only know that it uses a different pedal. Do not know how it compares to other platforms.
KS Lead
Sorry - just to clarify, did you mean ExText was compatible with Shorthand, or only the ones you mentioned for radiology?
To KS Lead...(sm)
I was just wondering why KS does not pay any bonuses - such as quarterly bonus, if you do more lines than required, or anything besides base pay for lines typed. I know they don't pay overtime, but have they ever considered any incentives for doing more than required lines? They seem like such a great company to work for, and the incentives really do work, was just curious. Appreciate your input.
Who is your Lead?
Shift lead
MTs were required to transcribe during our shift, and the shift lead part will now be handled by the team leader. I have a good line rate and am happy to be typing, no problems here. They are still a good company to work for.
Lead MT elimination
I hope the lead MTs stuck together and told Medware where to put their offer of transcription and/or reviewing. There are better companies out there who will pay more! And will treat you better.
As a former OSi team lead.....
I will say that the main reason I left the company is because I knew it was not right to ask people to work extra when they could not report it on their time sheets. And, yes, an account coordinator, has definitely recently asked people to work extra but not report it. This has been going on a long time. Time should be recorded as time actually working not what you put on a time sheet. That is ridiculous. The majority of my MT's did work extra but did they get paid overtime? No! This is SO not right!!! ');>
