At OSi using ExText we can easily pull up other patient reports

I've done that many times if I can't understand a medication name or whatever. I'll pull up the H&P, progress notes, whatever. Really easy to do.

Hmmm...well I can pull up a list of all the reports I
and I can click on statistics for each one and see the line count, which coincides with Ctrl I. I can see all the reports I have done. I don't know anything about ichart - never used that.
agree, I think extext is the only one with archived reports

ExText line count for individual reports? Is there a way? nm

It's IC, hospice reports, Dictaphone ExText. Nice lady, but

I have years of experience with ExText and ESLs. These reports had holes in them, the docs were so
s
Yes to old reports! Their ExText has all the regular functions except line counts are done on line
s
Very easily...
If I can currently get approximately 2,000 lines from 80-90 minutes of dictation at 13 cpl, $1.00 per dictated minute is a big loss. It depends on the speed of the dictators and also the rate.
I can do 300 lpd relatively easily, $100 a day.

Consistently I would say easily 200/hr all the way
up to 300 per hour but with the right macros/expanders you can certainly do even more than that because it not only depends on the account but also how proficient you are with your expanders.
Of course, you'll probably need a day or two to recuperate from your hard work:)
She gave up too easily IMO.
You can get into the system and see the dictator's other reports. When doing a discharge or consult you can check the H&P. You build your normals for the difficult ones. It takes some time, but it's just the usual groundwork in my experience. These ESLs are quite doable compared to one account I had to do now and then with a different service. And what you can't figure out, you blank. More than 3 blanks and it goes to QA. Not your problem after that. The QA people are great and very complimentary of my work. Makes me feel very good to have them reply that yes, that one was tough! We laugh over what VR would do with those dictators. People can only get good with ESLs if they persist at learning them.
If it isn't easily apparent...
to you, then I will not spend time trying to explain it to you.
And as easily as the recruiters move around SM
they also can remember all the difficult or nasty people they have had bad experience with at their old companies. What a person sows at one company, they may reap when they try to move to another.
Their pay is bottom of the barrel. You could easily
A recent job search placed them at the bottom in terms of pay and the schedule they assigned me. Move ahead to something better.
You can easily find private insurance for
a family for a reasonable price compared to what most transcription companies charge and then you aren't tied to a job because of insurance.
Can you easily make your line count - sm
Old posts say 1600 lines per day required. Is that possible on their accounts without going nuts? I was sort of looking into them too, just in case.
where they 35 comparable reports - or 35 short and 35 long reports? nm

Which is why I only pull up my own
I think they overlook this because they hire MTs with at least 5 years experience (or at least they used to), so they assume we know what we are doing.
I pull up only my own too but sometimes

Pull the other leg...

I HAVE TO PULL MYSELF TOGETHER!
I had 14 reports from the worst dictator ever, would have made more money working for Burger King! Now, I have the second worse - really! Love it! The new company figured out I can do any dictation - and I get all the crap! I'm going to go running down the street with my underwear over my head, a foot pedal tied to each ankle and a big dictionary stuck up my rear, screaming for mercy!
Escription is user friendly and 4 cpl is about average for that platform. You could easily do 400
lines an hour. Some people do even 500-600. Good luck with your decision. From what I know, it really is the best VR platform out there and I make more on that than ever could straight typing.
I seems very fraudulent to me to hire SE's and then pull the rug out
Maybe most of them wouldn't have hired on if they had known this was going to happen. Now they'll either have to go along with the program or start job hunting again. I know I'd be extremely angry if it were me. Having to spend time sending resumes, interviewing and testing realy sucks!
What in the world??!!! Did you just pull these names out of your.....

Companies pull their ads if they get swamped with
s
This sounds like the crap they used to pull
They would constantly run out of work - making it impossible to make quota, then would mail out nasty little letters about not making quota and threatening to reduce me to part-time and take away my benefits - when it was THEIR fault in the first place for not having enough work. Finally they lost all of my accounts, a chain of hospitals in Tennessee, so I quit. That has been a few years ago. It used to be horrible working there, and this sounds like the stuff they put me through.
Hey - pull my finger... there's YOUR bonus. ha nm
.APRIL FOOLS! Just kidding - really I don't care what you think. All I did was answer some basic questions, not offer a blooming thing in regards to using me as an MT bonus reference.
Typing ER reports and radiologogy reports
are completely different with regards to pay. For typing regular reports, that is a very fine line rate. For typing radiology reports, it would be horrid.
If the hospital finds out will they pull the account? nm
nm
Their platform made me want to pull my hair out!! (SM)
I found it relied too much on the mouse. This was back in April. I would consider going back if improvements were made to their platform. Has it gotten any better? You can e-mail me if you'd prefer. TIA
Do the control A thing, find the name, pull it....sm
into the box, highlight it, hit control C then escape out and paste it (control V) into the document. That way the name is correct as well as the credentials. Hope you find this helpful.
Wow, what a horrible time of year for them to pull something like that
I have never even heard of this company before, but after reading these posts, it sounds like they probably won't be around much longer. It kind of sounds like what happened at SPI a few months after I left. I am so sorry for the employees who were laid off, and I hope you find new jobs soon.
Hey, QA, I made another mistake .. pull my post .. LOL
Pardon the html in my post, as I tried to enter smileys ... lol ... there was no way to proofread ~ and I didn't anyway, because it's time for me to get ready for work. I also said not being turned down ~ should have been no not .. LOL .. toodles ~ I'm outta here and not participating anymore. ;o)
TT DictExt question. Is there a way to pull a doctor's name into text? (sm)
Currently if it is name I don't know how to spell correctly, I hit ControlA and search then type it into document. Just hoping there was another way and thought some of you that have used this longer would know. TIA
My thots exactly. Why not pull some of the work back from outsourcing
and ask us if we want to learn a new platform rather than telling us to take the day off or telling us to adjust schedules to meet the demand (which there is none since I already do that). There is no work and they continue to send work overseas. They continue to put new people on to help and we have even less work. Management is not concerned about the peons, just their own fat paychecks and fun times in the city.
9cpl and 11 cpl for weekends. Use ExText. My ExText version wasn't compatible with theirs

Don't need to record files. Pull them into Express Scribe (free on line) and play them thru there

If you have an Infinity pedal, you can pull the files in thru Express Scribe, (free download) and

Be patient...they always get
Well, this too has happened at my place of employment. This one girl would run her mouth about how great she was and how she was the best and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah!!!!! Well, she was fired yesterday! She was doing things worse than cherry picking...gossiping. She lived off of it. One by one, all the women in the office realized how she was and one by one she has been left out in the cold by us all. She started missing work...having every excuse in the book from her poor old sick grandmother to her poor sick daughter to her poor sick self....which of course she has ulcers (so she says) probably from all the lies and deceipt. She thought her job was SO secure but even the "best" finally get found out. Now this place of employment will hopefully turn into a nice environment to work as she kept it upset all the time. So, my message is to be patient and eventually they all figure it out. Just do the best job you can do with what you got! Happy typing!
I think you just need to be patient,
I talked to her yesterday after waiting over a week and she is just overwhelmed trying to get back to people, she was very nice.
I'd be a bit more patient.
I had about a 24 hour lag between emailing and my offer. I think that most companies get swamped with resumes every time they post here and it just takes time to get through it all.
Be patient
Don't worry. You will hear back from them within 5 days. That's about how long it took for me to hear back from them. From what I've heard from others it's been about the same for them. Good luck.
Please be patient. SM
When mergers and other events occur in this industry and between companies, it is natural for those who are impacted to want to discuss.
If you have something you want to ask about or discuss, just post about it. You need to also keep in mind that everyone is not sitting here 24/7 waiting to respond to posts. Give it a little time.
It is NOT too difficult to read down through the page and read the different posts that are about MDI/Transcend versus other topics.
Thanks.
I would also ask about looking patient's names up and such.

I don't mind..I'm patient (nm)

Be Patient...They are swamped...
It was almost 2 weeks before I heard from them. You might drop them a quick phone call just to let them know you are interested. E-mail me if you want more.
She said no patient files were sent IM
xx
MDI is definitely worth a try. However you must be patient
and understand right away you are restricted to 5 reports a day or 20 minutes of spoken word. This goes on for 2 weeks or so, until you are ready to be let go onto full contract typing. That is the test. If you make it and you want to stay it is worth it. However, you must want to be a contractor and willing to go with the flow of workload and as the work comes and goes. Personally, I think it is fine for a back-up or part time job. Have never not had my part-time lines. Pay is always on time. So if you want to be patient, and understand the process of hiring you will be okay for part-time for sure. Good luck!
Not giving a patient's name
is a HIPAA violation. Report her to your supervisor.
Ummm...she said that the patient himself...
asked her to go over the records. I do believe that fact that the patient himself makes the request would be the required consent.
...better yet - direct to the patient.

now, isn't that swell? For the patient, I mean..nm
