Are there any companies out there that offer benefits to PT employees, such as health insurance?
I know it's a rarity but I know hospitals do.
Any companies offer health insurance for part time?

Companies are hardly offer FT employees any decent benefits so I think is going to be rare to find
them for PT employees. I would love that too, unfortunately, I work too much just to get below average benefits. Best of luck in your search. Honestly, I think the only place you'll find benefits for part-timers is going in-house at a hospital.
Are there any companies that offer part-time
employee status?  I am looking to work certain days of the week, but I'd like part-time employee status?  Is there anyone that is currently in that type of situation that could steer me in the right direction?  I have a lot experience and am very reliable.  Thanks in advance for any help in this regard.  I appreciate my fellow MTs and their opinions count in my book.
Yeah, and do any companies offer PTO for part time?
TIA
Can anyone recommend companies that offer IC status, part time?

Any good ones out there for IC's?  Part time?

Does Spheris offer IC status?

Any help appreciated!

Which companies offer PTO for part time employee status, along with contributing 401K, shift....sm
differentials, and incentive based pay plan?  I think I covered it all.  Mostly looking for PTO as a part time employee.  Thanks for your replies.
They no longer hire part-time and may be eliminating part-time employees within the next 6 months.
They are going to have those that are PT go FT if possible. Some accounts require 1 weekend day, but not all. Most transcriptionists have 1 account with 1 back-up account. I know that they are hiring for hospital accounts in medical records and radiology right now.

OSi with part time health insurance and paid time off
OSi does offer health insurance and paid time off for part time.  Yes, there have been changes.  Yes, there will probably be more changes.  I don't see anywhere that hasn't had changes.  If they don't change they will be out of business the way the economy is these days, just like some other companies.  If they don't make money, then I don't make money.  So, what is so different with OSi compared to other companies?  I see complaints constantly about all companies.  I don't think it is the fault of the company that they outsource or use voice recognition.  It just is life on life's terms these days.  There is still enough work for us, at least for me.
Any companies letting part-timers buy in on the health insurance? sm
Just wondering if there are any transcription companies where you can work 20 or 25 hours a week and get in on the health insurance plan even if you have to pay the whole premium yourself? Thanks
Does SPI really offer benefits? The last time I checked they did not.
Thanks for any information.
Any companies out there that offer the hospital benefits besides Diskriter
I currently work in-house a hospital but they do not have at-work positions and I would like ot work at home so I wondered if there were other companies and/hospitals that hire at-home MTs with full benefits....besides Diskriter as I have not heard a lot of good news about them and it makes me nervous to apply.
they offer 401K for part time

part time benefits-sm
Does anyone know a company that has benefits for part-time?  I know they are rare, but I remember seeing some, but cannot find them now.  I am not so much interested in insurance as PTO, 401K, etc.
There will always be a need for some part-time employees. sm
The above poster was partially correct in that we prefer full-time employees. There will always be evenings and weekends that work well for part time. What she might have meant is that we are not hiring very part time or on-call employees. Part time will mean 20 hours or more a week. The ones that are being phased out are the ones that do 1000 lines max a pay period or less. It does not make sense to use up equipment, etc on MTs who generate little to no revenue for the company. It also makes it difficult to schedule someone who does 100 lines a day a few days a week and everyone else has to work around them.

This should clear things up.
I work part-time for them, so I cannot help you regarding benefits. sm

The pay scale seems a bit on the low side (I started at 0.0825), but you are an employee, so they take out taxes and such, which is a plus for me, and you can raise your rate of pay according to how many lines per hour you type.  I do not have the tier right in front of me, but it is something like 150-170, add .015 per line; 171-215, .035; 216-230, .05; and so on.   I type 300 LPH on my full-time job but cannot seem to average more than 250 at Webmedx, so not sure if it is the way they count lines, or maybe I am just not used to my account yet.  The sound quality on some of the hospitals on my account is absolutely AWFUL, and no one seems to be addressing that, so that is a down side.

They have their own platform and supply the computers.  Someone said you have the option of using your own computer, but when I asked, they said I had to use theirs, so I don't really know.  I would much prefer mine, but I did get a switch so I only have to use one monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

They charge a $125 deposit for the computer, taken out in installments of $25 per pay period, refundable when you quit and return the computer.

The pay is direct deposit and always on time.

I know they have benefits such as medical, dental, and vision, and a 401k, but I do not know the details.

Hope this helps.

Good luck!

just one more question....do they have regular full-time employees with benefits or......sm
just ICs?  Thanks.
if you don't need the benefits, i recommend part-time flex...
Part time flex requires 2,000 lines per week minimum, but you can do more if you like. You need to submit a schedule, but some production supervisors are flexible...mine is very flexible.
They do not provide equipment. Platform is DocQScribe and is great.
I have been with MQ for about 7 years, and they have been very good to me. I have great accounts but low work volume on them. Always seem to be overstaffed on my accounts, but that is why I have a backup with another company.
Good luck.
Webmedx hire part time employees...sm
I'm really happy there.  You might give them a try.
Any companies offer part-timers chance to buy into group insurance? need coverage ....

I've been looking at prices for solo medical insurance and while I can probably afford some coverage, I'm feeling rather paranoid about having insurance canceled if I actually get sick -- I'm fairly ignorant about what protections may have been passed and may just be responding to other people's horror stories.

Anyway, I'm not entirely sure I want to work full time for any of the nationals ... they seem to have gotten awfully rigid wrt daily line counts within certain fixed hours ... some days I'm simply creaky and hate feeling pressured ... so part time to start seems more reasonable than jumping in with both feet.  Any infor or recommendations appreciated ...

Thanks!

MDI-MD hires statutory employees, full or part time. sm
Their web site is www.mditrans.com.  They pay well, always on time, direct deposit, and genuinely care about their employees.  Good luck!
Deventure has never paid benefits to part time folks
Not sure what you are talking about, but there is no difference. Everyone I have spoken to is really excited about the merger with Transcend.
Any companies looking for part time QA
I'm interested in working a part time IC position (day shift) that pays a decent hourly rate. If you know of someone looking for people, please let me know.
I work for 3 companies part time and....
don't have any work either. I made $50 in two weeks for one company, $40 for the other and $300 for the third. What a joke!! I do have to make a living to pay our house payment. I have been at this for almost 20 years....so SAD!!
Any companies hiring part-time?
I need flexibility.  Willing to do a certain number of lines every pay period.  I started with MedScribe of NJ and already they run out of work and seem to be dodging my emails about a secondary account.  Afraid I made a bad choice.....
Are there any companies besides Amphion that hire part-time

I need a company that allows you to make your lines without demanding that you be on from this second to that second.  If it's part-time it's obviously because you have other things to do and your life doesn't revolve around a set schedule.  If I can get my work done at 3AM so why would that bother anybody?

Is there a company that doesn't mind when you work as long as you meet your quota and are accurate?

Are most part-time jobs with companies a few hours every day or are there
jobs that exist where you can work a few days during the week? If you can help, thank you!
Are there any good companies that hire part time?

I have two years of acute care experience, and I need a part-time job to supplement my current income.  If everything works out, I will need to go to full time in March.  At this time, I can only work Friday and Saturday nights.

I have been applying to several companies, but they keep giving me the run around.  One company even told me I did very well on their test and that I was put in a pool of transcriptionists to be contacted.  The recruiter called me once, and I missed her call.  I called her back and left a message, but I have not heard anything else from her.

Any advice would be appreciated. TIA!

No PTO for part-time. Not sure if you can work part-time or not since recent rule change. sm
You do pay a deposit for their equipment.
There is a part-time and a flexible part-time, just left there and they offered
me both. Flexible, however, is more or less when they need you (I.e. weekends), part-time is fixed hours.

HEALTH BENEFITS
ABOUT 340 PER MONTH, BLUE CROSS AND BLUE SHIELD. THEY ARE STABLE BENEFITS FOR SURE.
How soon can one get health benefits with them?
I am looking for a company that has dental coverage without the $1000 annual limit in payouts.
Trasolutions, anyone know the kind of health insurance they offer? i.e. BC/BS

Does DSG have affordable health benefits? SM
Any idea on the cost of this?  Thanks, :-)
$15-18 is great, but what if ya' need health benefits?
Sometimes those premiums can be pricey in private practice.  Not what the OP asked, but just adding by 2 cents.
PA health insurance benefits
I can't speak for all employers. I was manager of the transcription department for a large cardiology practice. Our health insurance premium was totally paid for (employee only). The company paid half of the premium for family coverage. Yes, those were the good old days! Now, as an employee with a national, I am looking at $400 per month for individual health insurance coverage with my current company.
health benefits specifically

Looking for a company (as an employee, F/T) that offers affordable family plan health benefits for less than the $1022 per month I am paying now!

I absolutely love the company I work for, but their benefits are outrageous (small business) and me understanding their plight is not putting food on my table.  I have a special needs daughter, so I need actual insurance, NOT a discount plan.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

what company offers the best health benefits?

What company offers the best health benefits?

As far as:

waiting period before they start (I'm looking for 90 days or less),

how much they cost for yourself and dependents (I have myself +1 - spouse - can pay maybe $300/month out of paycheck at most),

PEC lookback period (preexisting condition - example - look back 3 months is better than 1 year),

pharmacy cost (I need a flat rate copay, not a percentage, with no yearly cap, and brand names and generics)

Anyone who has been happy or unhappy with their insurance through their work-at-home MT company, please share your experience and opinions. Thanks

Yes I know they hire part time because I referred someone there for part time.
They are internet based.
From what I understand, the part-time positions will be only be for those that are already part-time
It is not a restructuring of the company, just of some of the existing part-time positions.

I know that there are a few employees who have been with Keystrokes for many, many years who are part-time and they will not displaced.

Other than that, there have been many discussions why there will not be any new part-time employees hired, and I really don't think they will back down on that.
Looking for fellow employees of Health Information Partners..sm

Since they sold last year and I did not accept the job with OSi, I have had one crappy job after another.  Just curious to know where everybody ended up at, so email me if you like.

Thanks

They offer PT benefits. They were not my cup of tea
but they do offer them if you live in certain states.

What benefits do they offer..
I have an interview coming up with them and wonder how much PTO you get and what kind of insurance, disability, etc. Thanks!
