Anyone know of a company that uses a very easy platform with templates...

and lots of fill in the blanks? I am trying to find part-time work that doesn't require a whole lot of typing because I have pregnancy-induced carpal tunnel syndrome. I still have several months of pregnancy left and I still need to work, so my only option is to find work that requires a lot less typing! I am just happy that this CTS is usually only temporary! I do wear wrist splints and take frequent breaks during my shift but this provides little relief. If you know of companies that use easy platforms with templates, fill in the blanks, cut and paste, etc - please let me know! Thanks in Advance!

Platform very easy and quick - easy to get used to. :)

Here, here, I agree. At one time, I was even accussed of holding MY templates hostage. Templates

Anyone know of a company, easy clinic work, easy Word format, dependable pay? Help!
x
I worked for one company that did not pay for any templates.

The client had many templates. When I started I received pages of templates with the codes.  It was after my first paycheck that I was informed that the company did not pay for any templates.  You know they were charging the client full price and guess who was pocketing the profit??

Easy platform...sm
Basically, I have several accounts that I work on, but for the most part all that you have to enter in is the patient's name, DOB, DOS...the rest is usually filled in for you, click Enter or something like that, one button, and then it sends you to the report...when you are finished with that, you just click one button, check mark for QA or not, and send it through..SIMPLE and GREAT platform...not difficult at all...
The platform is NOT easy to use, sm
They do bother you and I just was not treated the way I expected to be.  I am happy you are happy with them but it did not work that way for me!!!!
Very easy platform, but I won't say it can't be tweaked a certain way. Don't think anything

Tell us more about why you like it. Benefits? PTO? Easy Platform?
.
Their platform is easy to learn...
Softscript's work interface is three-fold: a proprietary report client which downloads, uploads, and retrieves ADT; an audio player in the background; and MS Word which automatically opens the report for you--all you do in Word is type and save. I don't see why Instant Text wouldn't work; MS Word itself has a similar auto-replace function as well.
The platform is Scribe. EASY to learn and use.
The line count is straight 65 characters with spaces and you can see your count which is important to me.

Today is supposed to be my day off. I needed to do a bunch of errands and catch up and do closets. So far, it's almost 10:30 and I have been on here all morning! I need to scoot!
very easy to learn - good platform
I have worked on a few different platforms and this one works well. Very explicit account specifics as well so it makes it much easier to do your job.
What kind of platform does Diskriter use? Is it easy
nm
Platform is fairly easy to learn, pay is

low/average, trainers/supervisor are helpful (at least the ones I've dealt with have been), bennies 35+ weeks.

Platform super easy to learn
I had heard horror stories about SoftScript before I accepted the job (realized you can't believe everything and took a chance). I gave them a shot and have been thrilled. The platform is super easy compared to some of the other Nationals I have worked for. Pay is a about 8 cpl, but that seems standard for Nationals. Tons of work.

I would recommend SoftScript to anyone and I have worked for the worst, MQ, Transcend, Medsribe, etc.
Platform is easy to use, and the people are great to work with. sm
I only work there part-time, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.  Good luck on whatever you decide.
The platform is super easy and user friendly. I have never had sm
any problems getting my lines...plus!
TT has plenty of work. The platform is super easy to learn and
I'm not having any trouble at all making good line counts doing ESL discharge summaries. Super nice people as well.
if easy platform and few ESLs, you'll do okay with same doctors daily.
nm
Pay always on time, platform is easy, they've always been nice to me, do have several accounts to
avoid running out of work.  I do MT and QA.
Pay is good, platform very easy. Got line count within days. (sm)
The people you work with/for are extremely helpful. There is an incentive plan which they will explain to you during interview process. No 401 match - that is a bummer. First year PTO only a few days, but picks up the next year.

Apply and have the recruiter go over it all with you. It is well worth the time.

Good luck.
I agree. I am only part time so far, but I love it. The platform is easy, and sm

the people are great.  I feel very fortunate to have stumbled onto them.

They use Dictaphone EX Text platform. Very user friendly and easy to work on.
It is all strictly internet based. No extra phone lines required. They do reimburse your high speed internet up to I think $40 a month, too.
I love it here; easy platform, plenty of work, great communication
@@@
I agree that it is an easy platform, but compared to other platforms I have used, lines are harder
to get, probably counted or weighted differently.
been with spheris 4.5 years, easy platform, good clinic account
nm
depends; can make more $ on easy platform/7 than hard platofrm/8-9 cents
nm
Easy platform, assigned accounts, always plenty of work. Great OM and boss. nm

Easy platform, PTO if you are employee, production incentive, direct deposit, work flow varies on
different accounts, but usually have enough to keep busy, lots of QA feedback.
Great company other than below. Decent pay, easy

platform, they usually don't pester you to work OT if they have it, they pay for downtime, QA very tough, strict schedule, daily QA feedback, monthly QA score.

If you screw up be prepared to be yelled out like a 5-YO.  Work your schedule, follow account specifics, produce a quality product and you'll never hear from anyone.

When the company line count is fair - it is easy nm
x
Also easy to put an end to it if the company would simply communicate their denial of the rumors, as
x
how do we work it? Easy answer - work for another company. That happened with the company
I was working for. I would wake up at 4 a.m. AND ON THE WEEKENDS TOO because they needed "coverage" supposedly and I would sit until 9:30 or noon without any work. Sorry, but my rent of $1450/month could not be paid with only $57/day. So I got another job and when I got the equipment and everything, then I quit for the other employer.
Great company -- good benefits, average pay, easy-to-achieve sm

incentive tier, ExText platform, pay by direct deposit every 2 weeks, always on time.  The people in management seem to genuinely care about the employees, which is a nice plus.  I have been there since October and am very happy.  Of course, one man's paradise is another man's hell it seems at times, but it is a good fit for me.

Good luck!

I love it. It is fast, easy to learn and easy to use.

Looking for a company with a platform that SM

allows you to just log in and work throughout the day with no set schedule, just a line committment.

Just would like to gather a list of companies like this.

Thank you!!!

I like the company and platform it's the
dictators, account specifics and every changing workload that drives me nuts!
Templates
The way I handle it is I try to figure out lines I type per an actual document minus the template part.  Then I would adjust my line rate downward to compensate, e.g., if my normal rate is 15 cpl, I would charge them 13-14 cpl OR instead of my usual count including spaces, tabs, etc., I would would try to figure it without counting them. I make clear to the client that there is no way to segregate the pre-printed lines and the lower than usual rate is a way of compensating them for it.  Another way to do it is how some hospitals and other MT companies are doing it - if you're using digital, charge by the dictated minute rather than the line.
She is not asking about the "Sten-Tel platform" she is asking about the company in MA.
They are not a chain. You need to get your facts straight!
Company's proprietary platform (sm)
I make normals out of everything. I consistently do 300 to 450 lph now that we can speed up the dictation.
As that company uses their platform would imagine
they had just built a working relationship and so brought her/him on.  SoftMed has undergone enormous changes since last fall - lots of layoffs - sorry you are having so many probs!
It is not the most MT-friendly platform, that's for sure, but if the company sm

is a good one, I wouldn't pass it up just because of Meditech.  I am using it for the first time, and after a month I no longer loathe it like I did, but I cannot honestly say it is my favorite.  It IS rather clunky and antiquated.  Fortunately, ShortHand works as an expander, so that helps, and one of the pluses of the Meditech system is the ability to access lab, medications, other reports, etc.

Good luck to you.  I am sure your trainer will have some helpful tips, or at least I hope so.

Spaces or Templates/Pay or No Pay

Interested in learning what companies out there do not pay for spaces and/or what companies charge per report regardless of line length for use/nonuse of their crappy template?  For those of you who have worked for a company that charges for templates, was that information disclosed to you by the recruiter and/or contained in your contract? Any info (and opinions) in this regard would be appreciated. Thanks.

Normals/templates
I let my IC's use them especially in my psych accounts.  However there was a time that one of the gals forgot to change the name on the header and I was gone and it went to the doctor directly with the incorrect name on the Header and big, big HIPAA violation and the doctor almost pulled the account since he did not catch it either.  So I understand where your MTSO is coming from but again, I would not keep the help that made these mistakes rather than make the other MT's pay for the incompetent ones and be unable to use their autorcorrect, ShortHand or whatever normals/expanders that they use.  The account stayed with me but we do watch the names closely now.   Why make all suffer for the mistakes of a few.
Yes, we are paid for templates.
NM
We can make templates
In Meditech you use the F keys for every little other thing, including their canned text which you have to hit, I think, F4, to pull it up. All the F keys have some laborious function but you can get used to it. As for templates, we do indeed create our own templates for the different dictators. The downside is that once you create one and it's there, you can't go back and edit it or change it, like when the doctor changes some wording and you want to edit it.

Mainly what I'm saying is, ask IT about the MT's creating their own canned text entries for templates. Use ShortHand or whatever Expander for everything else.

Our system used to crash a lot, too, but you could do a Recover and get it back. However, they've fixed that. Meditech doesn't have to be a pain, you can work it.
Good Luck...
You get paid for the templates too
NM
With the use of expander and templates sm

basically all the prep work it's definitely possible.

Reports with a lot of templates...
and very fast dictators.  Also, the MTSO counts lines in an honest manner, i.e., caps, bold, underline, headers, footers, templates, etc.
Read this about VR, templates, etc.

Ok, our profession has been threatened and outright replaced by voice recognition and/or templates which is fill in the blank type forms. Here's what I have found upon interviewing the people at these various places.

Bottom line is by going with VR, you can get rid of the MTs but they are replaced with approximately 1.5 FTE in IT help. So fire 5 MTs, hire 7 ITs. They need people to babysit the computer generated reports with which they have chose to replace us. Same for templates. So if there is any medical provider out there reading this, just beware. You will spend more money by going with VR or templates than you ever dreamed you could save. I hope this does some good but please don't be fooled by these slick salesmen who sell you this VR or templatesoftware and charge a fortune for it. Not only does it take up more time from your physicians, but you will spend more money babysitting the computers and software than ever before.

Especially if you use a lot of expanders and templates.
Then, VR is definitely NOT WORTH YOUR TIME.  If you type 5 lines an hour or something, yeah, I could see it working out for you.  However, if you are a good MT, not so much.
How about 0.03 per line for templates?
what templates, ones I make or their's. BS
