I am looking for very flexible work.  I've got 13 years experience in acute care and I need work that is very flexible, about 20 hours a week.  Does anyone know of an individual or company that has any work like this?    Thanks!

Any companies hiring for 300 lines a day and very flexible with hours? SM

I am looking to work for a company who is looking for some overflow help, 300 lines a day.  I am willing to give and take a little in regards to the work schedule.  If some days there is not enough to get 300 lines that is fine and if some days there is an abundance of work and you may require more from me, that is fine also.

I would love to find a company who uses a transcription-friendly software like DocQScribe (not sure of spelling) or Inscribe.  I am also looking for a flexible schedule, where I can just hop on throughout the day and transcribe.

Does anybody know of such a company?  I would be more than grateful to hear of any.

Thanks so much!!!!

Company with flexible schedule

I'm an MT with 6+ years of acute care experience and a mom of 4.  I love working at night when kids are in bed.  I like the company I work for but they are starting to get very picky about working the assigned schedule.  I received a call today stating that if was not going to be typing for a 5 minutes or more I am to log out.  The problem is that I don't know how long it will take to calm down an upset child or lookup a new medication for the report I'm working on.

So the bottom line is that I need a company that will be flexible with my schedule.  I would really llike to find a company that hires ICs.  So is there anyone out there that works for a company who offers a flexible schedule? I,m willing to run out of work occasaionlly and I love working at night and on the weekend.  I would even take a pay cut to get a company that will work with me.

Thanks,

Mariah

Does anyone know of a company that hires ICs on a very flexible basis.
I really just want a position that I can work as a second job, maybe some weekends and evenings and nothing set in stone. I have found even with a lot of the companies who say that they are flexible or really not. The next thing I know, I need to tell them exactly WHAT DAY and WHAT TIME I am working ahead of time etc. That is exactly what I want to avoid. I want the flexibility to work if I want and take off a day or two if I need to. Is this possible?? I realize that the main reason they ask for a schedule is to plan accordingly but I do not want that "pressure". I was an IC recently and if I was not on right at the moment they "scheduled" me, then I would get emails or phone calls. Maybe I am just dreaming that I can have this flexibility..Anyone??
Recommendations on company with flexible scheduling
I am looking for a company who is flexible in their scheduling.  Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated plus any other good/bad info.
GREAT company! Extremely flexible. I think it sm
depends on your manager. Mine lets me off each time one of my kids is sick with no questions asked. I am left alone to do my job. I have not had a problem at all with slowness, nothing more than usual when working over the internet. Tech is very quick to fix any problems. I have had every holiday off that I have asked for, and even a few vacation dayy and have only been there since July. I think it is a wonderful company to work for.
Need good small company to work for with flexible schedule - e-mail me.nm

QT Medical is a wonderful small company. Very friendly and flexible with good dictators. sm
I have to be honest that I know nothing about the health insurance as I do not carry it. Anyway, they are an absolute wonder of a company. Apply at www.qtmedical.com
Anyone know of a company looking for 13 years experience to work flexible part-time shift
I'm getting my real estate license but still want to keep my transcription job part-time.  I'm looking for a job that will allow me to work about 20 hours a week and still have the flexibility to show a home on the spur of the moment.  Thanks, I would appreciate any info!
per diem
You know what, there are a lot of us who would love to work per diem if offered. Why do you make it sound like some awful thing?
Only per diem
I hope they don't force my hand to go PT, FT or quit. I would have to quit.
Per Diem
Might I ask what per diem is?
I met someone who works per diem (sm)
not sure though of they offer true part time though or not...I will ask and re-post later.  :)
Line pay for Per Diem

Hi everyone.    I was offered a job per diem at 7.5 cents a line.  I am an acute-care with 29 years experience.   I think this is entirely too low.  People said that would consider increasing to 8 cents per line after a couple of weeks, but there is no guarantee.  My hubby went through the roof when he heard how much they wanted to pay me.

I have a job right now that does not pay for spaces, rate is decent though 10 cents to 10.5 centers with no Sat work unless there is OT.    I have another job offer where I have been hired to start in Dec which pay will be 9 to 9.5 cents working Tuesday-Sat first shift and now this per diem job.  Per Diem job really offered me this job full-time, they have PT too but benefits were better at the job starting in Dec.  I do feel I am worth more and I just wanted to use them PT just for pocket money.  I told them I would try it for 2 weeks, and she said lots of MTs do that and then they go FT.  They do pay weekly too.   I am torn if I should even take this job at 7.5 as there is no guarantee they will give me more money.   I would just have to trust them and if they do not I know what to do.  Any advice.  I am supposed to train today.  I also have to decide if I want to stay where I am at 10 cents a line or go to a job that pays 9 cents a line with spaces counted and they do not care how long you work.  My 10 cents a line job now does not let you go past 40 hours.  Decisions, decisions.

No per diem at Transcend
There is no per diem work at Transcend as far as I know and health insurance is only for full time people.
not inferior work because I want per diem
I do not have to pay the rent. I do not want to work full time. And no it is not demoralizing to know that I have reached a place in life where I do not HAVE to work but rather can CHOOSE to work.
How flexible is flexible? A window of time? nm
.
That's a $42 a day per diem on TOP OF SALARY ... reading comprehension, people.
Not every offer on the job board is suspect. Chill.

My bet is that it's a really good deal, and if I lived in the PNW, I would look into it (I'd love to live in Alaska for a minute).

I had a pharmacist friend who was looking into going up there and working for a year or two - just the sign-on bonuses alone were $100,000.

Alaska, though, is known for it's crazy, antisocial population.

Sounds perfect for transcriptionists. Heh.
company hiring
as far as I know, JLG is hiring for acute care at 9 cpl. Check them out.
My company hiring
I work for Cymed and they are hiring. I do acute care, including ops, but I know they need acute care as wel as op people. The TAT on my account varies from 4 to 24 hours depending on the work type.

Looking for company hiring for oncology
Yes, I am!
Does anyone know of a company hiring for overflow OPs?
I am in the market for a position where I could pick up some work here and there.  I want a position where I would be contacted for overflow work, when the loads get too high.  It could be for any work type, but Ops are my favorite! I have 13 years (full-time acute care) experience.  Just looking for extra work.
Company hiring for Radiology
I just hired on at Precyse Solutions 2 days ago, and I think they may still be looking for Radiology MT's - I do only Radiology.  They hire you as employee -- no IC status.
For a small company in NJ, not hiring right now though.

Yes good company and they are hiring. It
is best to apply through their website.
A company would not go through the expense and time of hiring you only to not
contact you. This smells fishy. It is not the first time you have said this but it does not sound right.
TSSC is hiring now, Great company. NM

Axolotl is a wonderful company but not sure if hiring. SM

Any clue who the company is hiring the Newbies/nonNewbies sm
on the job seekers board?
Good company but had layoff in July. Are they hiring?
Very professionally ran company.
First Choice Medical is a great company to work for, and I think they are hiring too.
I have been there for over 4 years now. They use WP51 too if you want. Good luck to you.
I see Precyse is hiring for new accounts. Would appreciate recent info on this company. (sm)
most of what I have found is pretty old.  Are the current employes squelched when it comes to giving out information regarding the company or are they just so busy they don't have time to mess around on the boards?   E-mail if you are concerned about being flamed or don't want to post for whatever reason.  TIA.
MD-IT hiring - looks like a really cool company to work for... any advice/information?
I sure would love to know more about the company - a search of this forum turned up zilch.  I was with Medquist for 8 years, and the company I went to did not deliver on the acute care account I was hired for.....
Any body hear of a company in MA that is hiring editors for 3 cent a line? sm

The company hiring you should provide the Dictaphone pedal or the adapter to play the ExText

Maybe MQ is over hiring now in preparation for something. Must be some reason they keep hiring when
some people have not work.
How flexible are they? sm

How flexible are they with scheduling.  If something comes up in the middle of a shift or you need to make an appointment during that time, can you come on before or stay after your shift if you let them know ahead of time?  What if you are 15 minutes late, do you have to call in or just work an extra 15 minutes over? TIA

Flexible
I know they require a schedule but is there any flexibility in that schedule, such as a window of time within your scheduled hours?
Not any more, but they are flexible.
a
They are very flexible
I have been there for 5 months, and they have been more than flexible with me. If I ever need time off, I can just make it up on another day so as not to lose any lines, and they have absolutely no problems with that. There is life insurance and supplemental insurance through Aflac.
They have always been VERY flexible with me
Yes, you do have to wait a year to get your paid vacation time, which I have finally just reached, but if I have ever needed time off in the past, they have never had a problem with me switching my schedule around or just plain taking days off. I do well over the required line count, so this has never been a problem for me. Good luck in whatever you decide!
How Flexible? sm

I think it's totall cool that y'all are doing this.  Our industry doesn't ever go out of its way to help us when docs dictate horribly (the low-talkers, the noisy room, the one who spells simple words the entire report, etc., etc.), but it sure isn't that way in most every other occupation (even nursing, for example).  So while we need to collectively stand up for ourselves and stop accepting such ridiculousness, it's survival, sanity, and everything else to work PT jobs.

From what I've read over time, it sounds like many/most of these PT jobs are where the MT clearly makes her own hours.  Am I terribly off-base here?  Just curious.

I, too, have my ins. covered by my hubby, so am interested in these posts.  Of course, I'm also really tired of the line counts and all at the Q.

Thanks for all this input.

she is NOT all that flexible...maybe for you she is..sm
Pay is low....on those Editscript accounts you will get about 80% VR and she deals with MANY companies, many of them who deal with India.  What reallly got to me was her wanting a schedule from the MT as an IC....a STRICT schedule.
Flexible hours
you can pretty much set up your own hours (after training) with Spheris.  I work  a split shift through the week which accommodates my home life and I enjoy the time I have with my husband and children.  I still get in my 40 hours per week, OT from time to time, but if you exceed your line count per day, OT not really necessary.  Sometimes OT is mandatory, but this is very rare.  I have a super who is A1 and have never had a problem when asking for a bit of time off (of course, I make sure to schedule additional time if I am able to).
Flexible Hours?

Can anyone give me an idea of what companies offer the most flexible hours?  I can work fulltime, but my hours must vary slightly week to week.  I will always get my time in, but I am not able to commit to 9-5 or any "set" schedule.  I have 3 children and their schedules tend to change often.  Thanks.  I have 3 years of experience.

Flexible schedules
Amphion Medical Solutions: You can say you will work 5 hours a day, or 20 hours a week, but that is about as vague as they can tolerate. Contact HR@amphionmedical.com
pretty flexible
I've found them to be pretty flexible, so long as you put in at least 35 hours a week.  I was just saying in some other thread that I can knock off two hours early if I want so long as the hours all balance out at the end of the week.

If you're wondering about clocking in and out for breaks, it's really to your benefit to do that, as you'll get a better line count.
They also seem fairly flexible. sm
I was quite impressed with what they had to say and they are the best offer I've had since I started looking around 3 months ago.

Thanks again.
