Is there actually a company named Rural Transcription?
I thought she was trying to say that she lives in a rural area and has to do transcription at home because there are no local in-house jobs. I didn't think she was badmouthing a particular company by name...
Am I missing something?

This is a TRUE company out of Iowa...so I assume she was talking about this company. Google it and it will come up with several hits.

C&E Transcription....Did anyone ever hear from them??
I applied to the ad for a police Transcriptionist at C&E Transcription a while back. Did anyone ever hear back from them? I even called and talked to the owner and she was very nice and told me they had just returned and would be going through resumes. Told me she would contact me within a week as she was very interested in my experience, but never heard back. I was just wondering what happened?

For a small rural hospital
I get paid $1.25 a minute of dictation for all transcription including radiology.
I live in a rural area and all we have are the
ER docs and lab and x-ray techs. Others are on call for emergencies but that is about it.
Anyone ever hear of this company?
Wondering if anyone ever heard of Teletype. I saw their add on MTjobs about a month ago and wanted to apply but when I went back on in a day or two, their add was gone and has never returned. Does anyone know anything about the company or if they are still hiring. I can't find a website or anything. If anyone knows anything about this company, please post!

I live in a very small rural area
with only 1 major hospital that has its own in-house MTs. The doctors in this area are employed by this hospital so their dictation is done there, as well. There may be a handful that are private but it would mean picking up tapes and taking hard copies back. I live 6 miles from town in the mountains and winters here get nasty with ice/snow. Thanks, though, for trying to help. I appreciate the support!

Great company and I hear that work will
soon be picking up. I was hired recently, too, and I am willing to wait on some more work just to have the nice people to work for. Also, they pay half of the social security tax, not half of your taxes. But compared to IC deductions, that is a big help.

I am in exactly the same boat, 10 miles from small rural town, don't know any local
MTs even after 12 years in this community. I need to find something with decent pay and the same kind of flexible scheduling. I too had planned to stay with MDI through retirement and this has really thrown me for a loop. I would just look for a new career right now if not for the fact my kids are still young enough that I would like to still be at home/available, especially when one has a chronic illness and his needs can change on a dime.

After a ridiculously involved screening, passing all, and with more than 10 years exp, I was offered 7.5 to do operative reports! (and did I mention I also said I could work weekends!) Are they kidding?!?!

Now I hear this company plays games with the work flow when you
start getting a higher line count. This is not surprising. I have BTDT and don't want to go through it again. There are enough posts now for me to say I am just done with the whole thing altogether and I am not a happy camper! Thanks for your feedback here and below. Saved me some headaches!

I said MAY NOT hear, didn't say you wouldn't hear. There is
a difference, and many people have said they knew they didn't do well on the tests, but still feel like they should have heard from companies and haven't.

Found the website www.yoursafeandhappyhome.com. Then if you Google the lady who runs this site, you will see she is targeting SAHMs with all kinds of different WAH jobs. Tons of red flags on this one for me.

Just curious if anyone can tell me if it is hard or not to get your line count in for OSi. I'm currently in the process of taking the tests for the job. I am working for MQ right now and it's horrible with getting your line count. I make it, but I have to work my butt off to get it. I was forced into MQ and now am trying to find something better. Any information would be much appreciated. Also, what's their pay like? Thanks a bunch!

When I talked to the recruiter she said they paid for spaces. I worked for a company that did not pay for spaces now and I am not going to go that route again I do not think. I think the pay for on the low side too for my years of exp. She told me FT and PT get paid the same and only the third shift makes more. Insurance was not bad and it compatible with what I am paying now. The only thing that was told to me was 500 lines for PT. I think I will ask more questions before I fill out paperwork. Actually, I did run my own transcription company (sm)
I had 4 girls working for me, plus I did the transcription, payroll, getting the tapes and delivering them to the girls and delivering the transcription - yes I did not have digital.
The girls got what I got right across the board. I never, ever took a cut from them. I incurred my own expenses of gas, phone. That was it. I worked out of my home and did it.
As an IC, you have the right to charge what you think the job is worth. Do you shop around for a better price when having repairs done in your home? Do you automatically take the cheapest one? Or do you take the one that costs more, but has the experience and the know how to get the job done and get it done correctly?
That is my point. The MTSOs say they cannot pay above a certain amount when in fact I would bet that they can. Think about it. Not in a stressed out kind of way, but just think about it.
Company info on OSI Transcription
Has anyone ever worked for OSI Transcription? If so, are they decent? I just did the online transcription test and am awaiting their answer. I would hate to give up my local jobs for this one and find out they are not a decent company.

I've only been with them a few weeks, but so far, its been okay. Have had some minor issues regarding equipment and work, but these were resolved to my satisfaction by my manager. First pay was on time without any problems. If things continue as they are, I will probably be with them for a long while.
What can anyone tell me about eMTS transcription company. Thanks much.
