I noticed in past posts they said they hound you when you're not working. But they're advertising a flexible schedule right now. Is that something new?
Any problems with getting paid? Is the pay decent?
Do they have decent accounts or are they for the most part extremely difficult?
Is their system efficient? I'm so tired of wasting so much time keeping logs of everything and having to type patients' names and data that I don't get paid for.
Is the sound quality good?
Is it really all American?

Does anyone have any recent information about eMTS? I see that they say they were started on the ideas of the old MRC (which used to be quite good, I understand). There were only 21 archive entries and really only 1 person responding. I would love to hear the good, bad, or ugly about this company? Pay, work load, ESLs? QA? Here are 9 questions about Acusis. Any or all answers would be so helpful.
- What platform do they use? User Friendly?
- Benefits. Which health insurance carrier? PPO? HMO?
- What is the deductible amount (employee coverage, no family).
- Accounts: High ESL? Enough work? Back up accounts?
- QA: Too much? Too little? Constructive or too critical?
- Email communication timely?
- Is hiring process drawn out?
- Do they provided equipment. Does it arrive in timely fashion? Any out-of-pocket expenses?
- Pay on time? Direct deposit? Any line rate information? Minimum line requirement?
Any fairly recent Med-Scribe information?
I don't see anything more recent than 6/05 in the archives. I think this one is in Floriday, but don't know for sure. Web site sounds great.

Anyone out there working for Rapid Transcript as an editor? How long do you have to wait before being paid? I was thinking about starting to work for them but am having second thoughts. Would love to hear from current employees.

Amy is so right about this company using new employees to get free work. Last year, I was hired by them to be a QA Editor. They had a probation period (which I completely understand), but they were so fussy when it came to formatting, punctuation, spacing, etc. that they kept asking that I transcribe 5 more reports -- yes TRANSCRIBE! I was hired as an editor, but I was required to transcribe these reports so that they could make sure I understood what their process was. To make a long story short, after being asked to transcribe 5 more reports about 10 times, I finally stood up and said something. They then proceed to say that I was not what there were looking for in an editor, but that if I wanted a transcription job, they would be more than happy to hire me!!! Can you believe their gall? I wasn't good enough to be an editor, which I never really got a chance to do in the first place, and then they offered me a typing job! I, too, had a lot of trouble getting payment from these people. I would email two, maybe three, times a day asking about my payment. It took months (after I verbally refused to work for them until I received payment) and finally I received it in full and said good riddens to bad rubbish! PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!

Are you a new employee, i.e. hired in the last month? If you read your contract with Rapid, it takes 30 days to get you into the system and process your first check. I was upset that I did not get paid after being with the company 2 weeks until someone pointed out the clause in the the contract, which I had not read carefully enough. I have worked for companies who have done the same thing - made me wait a month for my first check. When I saw this and other posts, I confronted the company about it. The person with whom I spoke was very nice and patient about it and stated emphatically that I would receive my first check and when. I know Rapid has had problems in the past, but rather than get upset over these posts, which I did, I am going to give the company a chance.

I hear they are getting some new clinic and doctor's accounts (non-hospital) which will pay more timely, and ensure prompt payments to their MTs. They are always looking for sharp people. In the past, they have been a slow payer of ICs bcuz hospitals were slow payers, but it looks like this is turning around. They are very nice and accommodating, and appreciate careful work. ICs only. Any schedule usually; very flexible.

I thought I would put in a good word for Rapid Transcripts... I did some work for them and got a check today. There have been negative posts that they don't pay. They had told me it may take up to 45 days for a check, and it was a little less than that.
LOL - I always say there is no perfect transcript
May be irrelevant, but I love it.
In the WP51 and long Word document days, I used to say I'd never seen a perfect document. Maybe a perfect report, but never a whole document that was 100%. And I've proofed some pretty great MTs.

I made the classic mistake.........I was promised a full time position with Chronicle Transcript in California. I went part-time with my full-time job because they treat me like crap, but we have always had work............well I have no work at Chronicle.................do not make the mistake I made, because these people do not care that we have bills to pay............have families depending on us.........I am telling you don't waste your time buying word 2003...........it will be a waste of your money............because they don't provide enough work to pay your bills..........I am scared to death that I may lose my car...........

CURRENT Rapid Transcript IC's
I have been reading past posts about the problems people have been having getting paid by Rapid Transcript. What I am wondering is if anyone is CURRENTLY contracting with them and getting paid on time or is it just a wast of time to do work for them because I will not get paid in a timely fashion? I am supposed to start editing for them on Monday, but I'm not even going to waste my time if they are continuing this non-payment policy.
