is not a company you want to get involved with. That's part of being an MTSO, figuring out how to cover your payroll while waiting to get paid. I would stay away!

Contact her client to see if they have paid her.
You are not bound to any contract you may have signed if she has negated on her end of the contract. I would let her know you will contact them if you do not hear from her within x amount of time with your money. She will not want you calling them - guarantee it.
Their web site says you get paid when the client pays them ... not good. nm

that longer to get paid...probably not. You go over 30 days and they start hounding you. I definitely would never do a job that took that long to get paid.
What makes you think recruiters are paid on volume?
Most that I know are paid salary. Only a few pay on commission.
Training on the system, not paid, but if you are physically typing reports then you are getting paid

Be glad you get paid tomorrow. We are paid on the 1st and the 15th, so sm
since the 1st is on a weekend, we don't get paid until Monday. It will happen again on the 15th of August …sigh. It is the only thing I do not like about the company, though, so I guess a few weekends of poverty a year is not too much.

I don't understand how Jayne cannot pay us. We have christmas coming up. I bet her family has a fantastic Christmas because she is using OUR money to pay for it. I worked so hard for her and I know the other girls did too. How insulting that she will not return phone calls or emails or PAY us. How does she look at herself in the mirror knowing that the MTs who did all the work FOR her did not get paid. She even sent me an email saying I give you my word HAHAHA her word is nothing, obviously. Well, I will call the attorney for the THIRD time and see what is going on.
To the poster, at least you got paid even if it was late. I sincerely hope you get your last check.

I agree -- if someone does not get paid by a company, that's something we all sm
need to know! As much as some of us may love doing what we do, I doubt any of us want to do it for free. One of the purposes of this board is to network and share such information. I know if someone did not pay me, of course I would go through the legal channels, but I would be screaming my head off here, warning everyone too.
To the OP, sorry this happened to you -- hope you get your money soon.

My client couldn't wait to get rid of MQ
They would send them 150 minutes and it would take them 4 days to return it and 4 people to do it. We do 600 minutes a day and return in 24 hours. Quality was bad and customer service was terrible. FYI.
If your company hasn't paid you come payday and
promises it will either be overnighted to your or in your account by the end of the day and it isn't, and the next day the money isn't there and they wait until the end of the day to tell you they don't know when you'll get paid doesn't that sound very fishy? I think the CEO should have issued a statement and outlined exactly what the issue is. If it isn't a matter of money (like they don't have it) then why not say what the problem is.
Someone mentioned this situation yesterday or the day before and got reamed, but I think this is now a MAJOR issue. Fortunately for me I got a big tax return and I haven't paid all the bills yet so I'm not hurting, but I can imagine there are more than a few who NEED their checks NOW.

Crazy question, have high speed internet and AOL for my mail. I do not have unlimited long distance. Is there any company for whom you would not run up a huge phone charge, could not do that! Crazy question, I know - but doesn't hurt to ask.

I'm sorry this happened to you, but when the first month's check didn't arrive, that would have been it. I still enjoy transcribing (most days) but not enough to do it for free.

Went from hospital to company using DQS, line count has definitely went down, don't get paid for
demographics even if we have to enter them in. I've put a lot more abbrev in my Expander since switching over to DQS to help compensate.
Company paid me 179 for 4645 lines. Whats that 3.8 cpl?
She does not seem to want to contact me about the money she owes me, either. Thirty years and 3.8 cpl. Unbelievable. 
First rule, never work for a company who says "I'll pay you when I get paid." sm
This is unacceptable. Any company with a decent client base gets paid at least net 30 days. I previously operated a small service and paid my subcontractors twice monthly despite being paid net 30 days by my physician groups. Yes, it was a hardship for me, but I brought those who worked hard to help me maintain my service first. Any company who pays their workers when they get paid, does not deserve to employ others. Plain and simple there is no excuse for this. Please, please find a company who values your work instead of using you.

The pay was decent, though, at 10 cpl, but it was 3rd shift every weekend, and I decided to pass just in case I ever decide to get a life.
Sounds like you had a bad experience -- sorry for that. Hope wherever you are at now is better. 
The company I worked for paid by the dictation minute as well. They said sm
that was the only way to know what you had transcribed, since there is already so much information there. If I remember correctly, it was something like Meditech where you are typing in the patient's actual chart. It didn't work out to be very profitable for me, but perhaps this company has a better system. The company I worked for was MedTran Unlimited or something like that. I was only part-time, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. After a few days, I realized it wasn't going to work out for me and so I gave my notice, and so they didn't pay me for the training or any of the work I had done. I haven't read anything bad about MD-IT, so they might work with you and make it worth your while.

Every two weeks would be too hard to manage. I get paid on the 10th and 25th, so I pay all my bills on the 12th and 27th, which works out perfectly for me.

I just started with a company and when I asked specifically if I would be paid for spaces, they said yes. When I started using their program I noticed that the line count for each job did not include spaces. I checked it with more than one program. I called them and they said there was a glitch in the program that would be fixed. It has been almost two months now and that glitch is still not fixed. My checks do not include spaces either. No one at the company knows what is up. I can't believe I am the only one at this company who has deduced that they are not paying for spaces. So, do you check your line counts to see if spaces are included? You might be in for a surprise. Man, I am tired of being burned when I am a reliable and honest IC. Maybe time to do something else. This is set up by the client NOT the MTSO. I have worked on several different VPN accounts for Keystrokes. Some I can access the internet and others I could not. It depends on the hospital/clinic. If they set the security really high, you will not be able to access the internet. However, if the settings are lower, you would be able to do it. If it were up to Keystrokes, they would definitely want you to be able to access the internet.
Getting paid
You're absolutely right. Since it is part of our jobs, that means we should be paid for it. I'm in total agreement, we are ending up providing a lot of "freebies" MTSOs need to be aware that transcription involves more than just typing lines; there is "research", and the research part, which is actually bigger than the typing part, is not being compensated AT ALL. And GOOD MTSOs and GOOD MTs recognize that. BAD MTSOs and MTs that are truly "lucky" to be employed don't get it. Frustrating, isn't it?
it did say that we get paid if
DEP goes down (at a reduced rate of course to be found on Qnet or some such place). But no mention of what happens when we RUN OUT OF WORK which will be a daily occurrence when everyone starts sitting 39 hours or 24 hours and holidays. You could at least count on work the week after a holiday, not so anymore I guess.

Not being paid
Wow!!! I was not paid my last paycheck too! I was assured that this NEVER happens and they were very sorry, etc. When I asked where my paycheck was - their response was what pay are you expecting? I did get may pay, and since then I have not had a problem... but now reading what you said about MTs not getting paid on other boards that makes me very nervous - family to feed, mortgage to pay, on and on and on.
