You do realize what MQ is doing right now is exactly what Spheris does. I still think they may drop
SE but hope not but Spheris does not have IC or SE so if there is a plan in the works MQ may just have employees.
Please notice the OP was SPHERIS INDIA and NOT
On the US Spheris' web site for application of an MT position, notice this at the bottom of the page:
***Spheris adheres to the requirements above as we strive to maintain consistency and fair hiring practices***
If you bother loading in all the Flash players on Spheris India, you will see THAT is where the age restrictions are given.
No intelligent person could ever believe the US side would blantly violate US hiring laws as to put such a restriction on the US company's web site.
I have nothing to do with the company. I am just amazed at what people will contrive others into believing by not paying attention or investigating the issue at hand.
they don't pay their share of the premium in any pay period you drop below full-time line count..

Spheris - any spheris employees out there care to s/m
comment on the new Cornerstone platform, good, bad? Will we all be going to SR on this? Thanks.
OMG I feel so giddy, just gave my 2 weeks notice at Spheris SM
and feel so liberated! I am totally getting out of MT - tired of being tied to the computer waiting for work to come in! So tired of hearing with this platform or that platform you will earn more. Good luck to all.
I never take time w/o notice WHERE did you get that and SM
SORRY I DO NOT HAVE TIME TO READ YOUR RANT... I ONLY GOT THAT FAR. I was born in 1951 and I always give a lot of advance notice for time off. What in the world are you thinking of here?
They don't HAVE to let ya finish your notice time. LOL
Ya gave a notice, which was what they wanted. That's what makes you leave on a good note. All they can tell someone calling for a reference is the dates you worked and whether ya can work there again. If ya give 2 weeks notice then you're okay.
MQ isn't the only one who does that. Not just nationals either. Every hospital I've worked for, when ya gave notice, they accepted it, marked ya "eligible for rehire" and then you were done immediately.
I think there's probably too much room for questions and ugliness from an employee going out the door to others.
Spheris employees
What kind of insurance premiums could I expect to pay for their insurance? What about deductibles?
Any other bennie info like bonuses and stuff? I see their ad has longevity bonus. What is that?
Thanks.
Any current Spheris employees here?
1. Does Spheris have speech-recognition or editing work?
2. Can you do just SR or is it a mix of MT and SR?
3. Do they pay flat rates for SR (what range, please) or a percentage of your MT?
Thanks
Does Spheris have PT status for employees?
I am FT but want to go PT and keep insurance if that is a possibility. Anyone know?
Any current Spheris employees that can tell me about
their proprietary software and how it is to work with?
Any current Spheris employees that can tell me about...
In response to Dana, my supervisor doesn't answer ANY e-mail I send her so not sure how flexibility would work in that regard. My accounts with SR are absolutely awful; make changes pretty much throughout the entire report. It is nice to hear, though, that someone actually does well with this company. I have tried to find positives and I have yet to find one thing I can say I like about this company. It is a job, though, until I can find better....
Any Spheris employees having difficulty with their email? NM
Any Spheris employees get paper checks?
Just had my direct deposit changed to a paper check. Since payday is tomorrow, am wondering how long it will take to get my check--I am only two states away from HQ. Thanks!
Any Spheris employees get paper checks
Wow, I was expecting it Monday. That's good to hear!
Any Spheris employees know if you can negotiate for less than 20 hours PT? (sm)
Getting too old to do a fully 60 hours per week and was hoping to find employee status rather than IC to fit the bill here for less than 20 PT hours a week.
Saw the add for the SoCAL account and was intrigued. Used to do a large west coast account, perhaps this one came from MQ to them? Hope, hope,
To any Spheris employees, I quit in August and would like a copy SM
of my YTD earnings. I have called HR but they never return my call. I forgot how to access the online ADP. Can anyone give me a phone number to call, payroll number or something so I can call and get a copy of my earnings? Thanks.
Spheris employees are instructed to not post messages on sites like this.
NM
They no longer hire part-time and may be eliminating part-time employees within the next 6 months.
They are going to have those that are PT go FT if possible. Some accounts require 1 weekend day, but not all. Most transcriptionists have 1 account with 1 back-up account. I know that they are hiring for hospital accounts in medical records and radiology right now.
Notice is a courtesy, not a rule and they don't give you notice when they fire you
Giving a 2-week notice is common courtesy, and in most all my jobs, I have given them that courtesy; however, a company never gives someone notice when they are firing them. In my opinion, if a company does not treat their employees right, they do not deserve to get any notice at all.
As a matter of fact, I just left a company without notice. I felt horrible about doing it to my team but not to the company. While they never messed up on my pay, I was under constant stress. They treated several other people horribly and also changed all the terms of my employment contract within months of hiring me, which was going to cost me $800 a paycheck. I am the major breadwinner for a family of five and couldn't hang around a second longer losing that kind of money.
The only reason you would not want to quit without notice is if you want to use them as a reference and/or want the chance to go back to them in the future. I was advised by a recruiter that you should never put anything on your resume that is less than a year, so you really don't want to use them as a reference anyway, and you certainly don't want to go back to them.
Messing with someone's money is a big NO-NO, especially when they are costing you $400 for a second time. Heck no, I wouldn't give these people notice. There are some great companies out there hiring right now.
Feel free to contact me by email if you would like some more detailed information about the companies I narrowed my search down to. I was very sceptical about trusting another company with the bad luck I've had (just as you have) in the last few years, but I think I finally found somewhere I can be happy at for a long, long time (of course only time will tell, but I'm feeling very optimistic).
:) Best of luck to you!
There will always be a need for some part-time employees. sm
The above poster was partially correct in that we prefer full-time employees. There will always be evenings and weekends that work well for part time. What she might have meant is that we are not hiring very part time or on-call employees. Part time will mean 20 hours or more a week. The ones that are being phased out are the ones that do 1000 lines max a pay period or less. It does not make sense to use up equipment, etc on MTs who generate little to no revenue for the company. It also makes it difficult to schedule someone who does 100 lines a day a few days a week and everyone else has to work around them.
This should clear things up.
Ex-employees with too much free time on your hands
We all know who has been posting the negative remarks; ex-employees that have far too much unemployed time on their hands and they spend this free time posting negativity on web sites. Please, seek help, therapy, change your attitude, try to adapt some professionalism and work ethics into your personna, and get on with your miserable life. Your 'sour grapes' attitude is getting so old. Get off of the web sites and get a life.
no most are full-time employees...no IC positions
they will hire some part-time but they usually like full-time
Getting hard for full time employees
nb
I agree with the above poster. It is bad business to not pay your employees on time. I mean ....
after all, when was the last time you were able to tell your credit card companies, mortgage company etc.. hey, I am supposed to pay your bill on the 15th but it might be later than that, or may not at all. I mean GET REAL. Do these transcription companies not realize you have obligations too and you need to be paid on time. I think so...but they dont pay you..because they can. I would call them and them you want your check by Monday or you will take action, and once I had my check, SO LONG DEADBEATS. You deserve to be be paid.
Webmedx hire part time employees...sm
I'm really happy there. You might give them a try.
MDI-MD hires statutory employees, full or part time. sm
Their web site is www.mditrans.com. They pay well, always on time, direct deposit, and genuinely care about their employees. Good luck!
just one more question....do they have regular full-time employees with benefits or......sm
just ICs? Thanks.
Are there any companies who offer health benefits to part time employees?
Need insurance.
Webmedx PTO rate of 1.08 hours per payperiod and only for Full-time Employees
Webmedx only gives PTO and insurance to full-time employees. No PTO for the first 3 months, then something like 1.08 hours per pay period, starting at 0. If they run out of work or your ISP goes down or your child gets sick and you cannot get in the full 35 hours to qualify for full-time, they want you to use your PTO to make sure your hours add up to 35 that week. If you fall below 35 hours for 3 months in a row, no matter what the reason, they automatically drop you to part-time and take away your insurance. Then, you have to work a minimum of 35 hours for the next 3 months before you will be eligible for insurance again. As far as holidays, if the holiday falls on your scheduled work day, you have to work, unless you ask for it off in advance, but they do pay you for 8 hours of holiday at your normal rate, in addition to any lines you type that day.
I am wondering if employees with Futurenet have a hard time having adequate work flow..sm
Just started there not too long ago, but now finding out I am running out of work frequently. I have several accounts that I can work on, but all are empty most of the time. Have they overhired or is this the normal?
Webmedx has 6 paid holidays a year, separate from PTO, for full time employees.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT SPHERIS!
Spheris is not MT friendly. Having worked there in the past for 3 years (and having had the good sense to get out), I know first hand how they handle things, like a 3-ring circus. It is a wonder they haven't gone out of business because they are losing all their accounts and their people, from what I hear. A few of their supervisors are vicious backstabbers and have a tendency to run good people off, but I guess that could happen anywhere. Spheris likes to buy out the little companies and put all their people in important places and goodbye to the rest of you little people. If you are planning to go to work there, please don't let me influence you in a negative way; however, I do hope you prepare yourself to work in at least 6 accounts on a daily basis after the first month or so.
Does anyone know what part-time Spheris
Now, that is the first fact I have seen about Spheris in quite some time. nm
.
Spheris off-shores big-time
It started around 2004-2005. They call it their Follow the Sun strategy, i.e., the Indians are in a different time zone than US MTs. Also going to all speech rec/VR.
Try telling Spheris instead of wasting your time with us
You dont have to explain anything to anyone on here. I would take these great points that you have had and tell them that you are in the process of looking for another job and maybe that will scare them into giving you a raise.
Telling about it on here really wont do anything unless you talk to Spheris about it.
Good luck! It does look like you deserve a raise, but I think most of us do too.
Going from MQ at this point in time to Spheris is like jumping from the sm
frying pain into the fire. Don't go there!!!!!!!
Is Spheris just hiring for flex time positons?
NM
spheris has a hard time paying their referral bonuses as well.
Spheris has a hard time paying for referrals too...just put you in a drawing for some prize. if you win, great if not, then who cares.
Drop it already! ENOUGH! DONE! OVER! nm
NM
Is there a reason you cannot let this drop?
We are all tired of all the nonsense, but seems to me you are tyring to continue it!
Drop Hyphen
Thanks for setting me straight and thanks for your time in answering.
LLD
I think you can drag and drop it.
Isn't that working for you?
Did they also drop the rate?
If this is the case, then this is why. If not, and it is as you say, I would start sending out resumes and don't leave until you have another jobtained and even work both for a time if you can, to see if you like the place. Some management style is punishing, they feel this is the way to do it WHERE it should be the opposite, people will work their guts out if they just be nice and fair. Start looking for a better place. Their loss.
I had to drop my coverage -
I could not afford to pay the premiums as I had no work. I was basically working just to pay that.
Also, since they paid on a tier plan, I went from making over 11 cpl to making 6 CPL at the same time. That is why they do not mind overhiring - they get the same work done for much less money, so that means more money in their pockets.
Hope that stays the same because it is apt to drop
as mine did. Lot of us outsourced from a major hospital and went from salary and incentive to less than 4 months later VR at 4 cents a line, still make that but on straight it is 8 (over 30 years experience) but I average about $18.75 an hour and that is because of my speed only. When pay and incentive though over 40 thou a year so quite a drop.
So, if your the lucky soul who gets 7.4 cpl and you drop below 98.9%, then you'd get 6.4 cpl..wow
You can drag and drop, but under the more button you
have to check the box that says remember player position. HTH.
Don't people who obtain the CMT normally drop the RMT sm
from the end of their name?
Comm Pg; request Help; use the drop-down box. nm
