One of the main players who was training etc was the owner's girlfriend. Also I believe the main players all came as a group from Softscript, which is another horrid company. This goes back about 6 or 7 years.

IC with TTS is a STRICT 8-hour set schedule. Go figure. Glad the other poster finds this company so wonderful as that was not my experience. If you are seeking employee status, the cpl is an insult.

Supervisor never available, rarely if ever answers emails - definitely not in a timely fashion, does not answer phone calls, you cannot leave a message because there are too many voicemails sitting in the mailbox. Paychecks were wrong, paychecks were late, paychecks bounced. QA unhelpful if available at all. When she went back to look at her blanks since she never got feedback, QA had DELETED chunks of paragraphs so it did not *look* like there were blanks.
Has been a mostly offshore outsourcing company attempting to create a state-side presence.

We got the list from AHDI. If someone does not wish to be on our email list, there is a link to click on at the bottom of those for opting out. We immediately remove those that click the link.
We also have a few mailling going out. Same thing - if you opt out of the email program, we will remove you from all contact.
We need transcriptionists for many new accounts and have ads on here and other sites, as well as several magazines. We are going to need over 100 MTs in the next 3 months due to new accounts and more work on existing accounts!

I saw something that made me think they were somehow related to MQ.
It was a list of companies, and Medquist was listed, and then another listing with Milner/MedQuist. I'm not sure what it means, but it sure scared me away.

On the job injuries, drug screens, employment physicals, workers comp, etc.
You can ask whatever, but it is specifically related
to company rules, regulations, benefits, etc., best to get it from official sources rather than here.

but like with any company, it is going to vary according to patient load and whether the doctors dictate consistently or wait until the charts are going delinquent. This is not like predicting how many hamburgers you can sell in a day. If you believe in this company and how it operates, be brave, get your feet wet! it's not going to be perfect anywhere. You can always ask for back up accounts.
MDI or LANDMARK RELATED?
Does anyone have any idea if MDI and Landmark are affiliated in any way with each other? It sounds like they both use the same platform (Bayscribe) and have very similar hiring and working practices, so I'm wondering if they are owned by the same people? Also, is anyone currently working for both of these companies at the same time and if so, how is that woring for you?

I understand where MTadvocate is coming from. If you don't keep this information up for everyone to see, then some unsuspecting soul will go to work for Jayne Mattingly (TSI, Transcription Management Systems - whoever she decides to call herself this year), type her heart out and not receive her check. It's sad that these losers would take advantage of hard workers at a time when the economy is sinking and we all struggle to feed our families. Instead of paying the attorney 100+ bucks an hour, how about sending us the checks we EARNED. Seriously, how DO they SLEEP at night??????

And apply those corrections. It is also dependent upon how much your company slashes cpl for VR. The Q makes you place markers to help the speech engine learn, and that slows you down. The 2 other companies I have done VR for don't. I did leave 1 company for VR because they slashed pay from 10-11 cpl transcribed to 4.5-5.5 max MR. And that is not worth my time. JMHO.
All of the WORK RELATED emails, IMs, phone calls, etc...sm
Up until 05/13, I was a production paid MT that was expected to work a very structured, 6.5-hour shift that was to be performed from 9a-4p. HOWEVER, the constant disruptions that came from my supervisor and other staff members (mandatory IMs, emails, phone calls, on-line meetings, etc) was considered non-productive and had to be made up. It took me 8 to 10 hours a day (on a good day) to get in 6.5 hours of transcription! I was then accused of not sticking to my schedule because many of those hours were done in the evening (after the office went home) and I was finally left alone.
Could you even try to imagine anyone else (regardless of profession)being told to stay after their shift was over to make up any time spent performing work related tasks? It doesn't happen and never will!
Why are we expected to be so grateful to be at home when the only difference is demographics? Oh, and maybe a water cooler...

Hmm, wonder what the owner will say
no flame, but I would not tolerate that kind of off loading in a public forum from someone on my management team. Please remember I was responding to horn tooting that was short on information and left an impression that huh, I could do better elsewhere in addition to feeling insulted at the lack of decent benefits. There was no mention of UC contribution, STD or LTD, employer paying part of the health insurance premiums.
I said what I said mostly to make the point. If you want to sell me, do a good job the first time or you sink yourself and I won't look at you twice. There was little in the original post to sway me in your favor and the Jeckle/Hyde posting afterwards warns me of good day/bad day tangents.
