Nice Christmas card and $100 bonus.
Christmas Bonus survey...Has anyone received a bonus yet this year or expect one?
We usually get one but haven't see it yet. Just curious if anyone has been so lucky as to get one.
CHRISTMAS BONUS
I have from a private account.
AX Christmas Bonus
Yes, they have given in the past. Usually in the form of a 50 dollar Visa card, which can be used anywhere. Don't know if we will get one this year or not.
Christmas bonus
I've worked at SoftScript, Medi-Max, Spheris, and several other smaller MT companies and in 15 years I've never once received a bonus or a raise from any of them, Christmas or otherwise.
By the way, Spheris is the worst company I've ever worked at in my life, and I've had several different careers. They lie to, cheat, and steal from their employees, pay slave wages, and constantly harass you to produce more and more and more while cutting your pay. Even in this economy, I just quit that horrible, horrible, inhuman place. Horrible.
Axolotl Christmas bonus? sm
Has Axolotl given Christmas bonuses in the past? Do you think we'll get one this year? I am fairly new there and was just curious. TIA
Christmas bonus/card? Did anyone get anything this year?
I know there is still time but usually we get a card by now.
Acusis - Anybody get a Christmas bonus, card, etc.?
nm
I didn't get a Christmas bonus or even a card
glad to see how much we are appreciated by our company.
I am curious as to what companies give at Christmas. Has anyone gotten a bonus/gift from their
company?
Nice people, agreed; very frustrating to work for, though.
I have to agree that the people are very nice. That's about as far as goes, however. The platform is clunky (We're working on a new one has been the constant refrain for years, with no real sign of it's birth anytime soon).
To answer the original question, I'm able to average about 250 lph, even with the craptacular platform (mostly due to a few docs with regular patter lending themselves to a lot of canned text); that said, I would likely be getting 350 lph or more with similar effort elsewhere.
Back on the negative side, however, the communication there sucks. Maybe 1 in 10 e-mails to management is acknowledged, let alone answered.
Very frustrating.
I got a nice Christmas gift from
This is my second Christmas with this company and is my second gift so there are MTSOs out there who do care about their MTs and do show their appreciation for hardwork!
That is *.11 for all lines typed* when working agreed-upon schedule.
Making less per line is not a raise.
Would have given everyone a nice fat bonus
Without knowing what this person sold for, of course can't say what fat is.
But that's what I would have done - at the very least.
nice quarterly bonus makes up a lot
with Alltype. What you get offered for pay is how well you did on the test and what shift you plan to work.
The vet I work gave me a nice bonus.
I got a card from one of the transcription companies I work for.
Have to post that I received a very nice holiday bonus from QT which
Working Christmas - gladly. For years I was lucky enough (sm)
to have an in house job where others volunteered to work Xmas, Easter, etc. so those of us with small children could enjoy the holiday.
Now I feel it is my turn to pay back and work the holidays so the mothers of younger children can have that special time with them. It only lasts such a short time.
Happy Holidays to all.
Christmas - the annual draining of the working sector bank accounts.

Pay on time, direct deposit, incentive bonus, nice management but at times workload can be a problem
requiring several accounts to stay busy.
How nice there are 2 of you working
Its harder to manage when you're the only one, and you are already working as hard at your 1 job as you physically can.
I would just say, 'It's been nice working for you, -
you're a great company', etc. etc., 'but I've found something better so it's time to move on.'
I am not a recruiter and I do not get paid to say nice things. I just like working for sm
them. Is that so wrong? I have a lot of work, I like my account, I get paid well and on time. That's 4 for 4 in my book. I have not found that anywhere else.
Their ads do not say 9 cpl for everyone; they list a range.
The equipment is not ancient. I have an internet count.
Why do so many come on here to b**** and moan and tell half truths. Unless you experienced it yourself or know facts, why spread things?
My job is working out splendidly, I wouldn't say big bucks, but good pay and nice people. sm
I am just looking for something to do in the evening and weekends. I am going to the job during the week daytime hours. I miss transcribing as it is not transcribing. Thanks for your concern. But, yes this job I am working at during the day is a breath of fresh air compared to trying to sort through transcription companies, trying to figure out how they pay, by the character, by the 65 character count line or gross lines. I really am enjoying the people the place too. I would recommend trying an out of the house job for everyone on this board that can!
Tiny, tiny, and tiny.

after doing a TINY bit of research ....
It seems its legal, as long as its non-invasive and doesn't ask questions that relate to sexual orientation, personal beliefs, etc. That would be an invasion of privacy. HIPAA for employees too (as well as ADA, etc).
In other words, the psych tests can be for ability to perform the work, etc, VERY work related.
(This makes very little sense, its a headache day for me, so thinking is a bad thing to do!).... back to my couch :-)
You must have some tiny hospitals, then.
A few docs shouldn't make that big of a difference. Plus if you've been reviewing the Community Page over the last several weeks, you should realize that there is more going on than vaca time for docs. Management just isn't letting us in on it.
you tiny tinny little
coward - at least that's what you appear to be with your self-righteous judgmental posts.
Or are you just a troll who enjoys the reaction you get by posting knee-jerk insults?
You're sad either way, that's for sure.
It is EASY to stand in judgement of one you do NOT know.
YOUR experience is not everyone else's. Try to grow up - this you have *NOT* DONE yet.
Christmas morning here and not even a Merry Christmas
NM
Yes, they added a tiny bit to the benefits, but now require 12,000 lines.
That was a low blow!!! It is almost impossible to get 10,000 lines on those nasty VA accounts and now they are requiring more. I will be looking for a new home. This sucks!!!
Very nice owner, nice work, nice place - sm
the leave you alone. I left because they do not budge from their pay which was kind of mediocre. I would go back if I had to because they were extremely nice.
Practice what you preach. Your a** has been on here all day!
;-)
Common practice?
Is it common practice now days to type 4 different accounts - 7 different work types in one 8 hour shift? I'm experiencing this as a FT employee for a well known company - Other than this, the company is wonderful ....this has given me great experience, but my pay has decreased.....Do I need to suck it up and keep pounding away or look elsewhere? Any advice appreciated!!!
RE: Common practice?
Suck it up. You really do not have a problem.
Why not practice being French
here to see how you like it? Try being snotty and rude. Sneer and pretend you don't understand what people are saying. Maintain a disdainful countenance, while dissing the USA. Set fire to a couple of cars. Demand 8 weeks paid vacation and then refuse to work anyhow.
Not exactly defending the practice
First, I'm not a big fan of mandatory overtime anyway. I understand sometimes they need it, but after 40, there are some weeks where I don't even have another minute in me to give them.
I've also had the same thing with overtime...being happy because they're requesting it for an account that's semi-easy and I'm good at, and then logging on to find out it's the account from hail. I can't be the only one from that hail-storm to be working, and I can only assume they're not too backed up because they're not the ones looking for OT, so why oh why oh why must I type any of the Chennai Boomhauer in my spare time.
It must have something to do with different turnaround because I don't think my place assigns them. At least in theory, although I've not seen the spread sheets to prove it, it's first in/first out to me. I did ask them about this one other time I signed on for overtime at the slightly better place and got stuck with Hail Community Hospital. I was still eligible for the OT, but I'd have gotten probably double if I'd have been typing the actual account that needed the OT.
Free Practice Test
This will give you some sound files and practice tests - http://www.meditec.com/meditec-skills-test.html
Unfortunately, many practice this unethical behavior. sm
I worked for a company that sold out to MQ. A certain person took all of the names of the MTs with her when she went to another company, went after the accounts this company had, and tried to recruit the MTs for that account for the new company.
I asked how they go my name and number as I had never applied to this new company before - and I was told so and so worked at such company and we have this account now and you used to work on for such and such company....etc. I was shocked to say the least!
So, yes it does happen, and NO I never took the job and asked them to please not contact me again that I was not interested.
Nothing is sacred anymore - not even our privacy let alone the hospitals and patients!
its for Family Practice account
/
is there any type of practice test
you can take to help prepare for it or at least give you an idea of what's covered?
family practice companies
Does anyone out there know of any companies with good family practice accounts?
Yes, hiring practice was right 'fit' for me
Imagine hiring someone just based on their resume and a phone interview. Aha, the catch? You have to pass a very rigorous 10-day QA process, can transcribe only 5 reports a day during that time. It is challenging, but well worth it at the end of that time. You decide if it's the right job, and they decide if you are the right employee.
Like I said, old school.
Does that include the overhiring practice of Transcend's
so none of us can make a decent living, or the miserable platform transcend brought with it?
Oh, I understand. I wasn't condoning the practice
of not paying for no work situations at all. Just commenting that MQ was not the only one to fail to do so.
Although I have never been out of work with either MQ or Spheris, should that situation have occurred I would have been all the more reliant on the other position's income.
I once had a group practice client, which included ...sm
6 physicians. The most irritating one was the doc from India who had been in the U.S. for at least 15 years (I know this because I went to school with his children), and refused to even work on losing at least a small part of his accent. He was so ridiculous, and each time I typed his work, I said to myself I swear this guy purposely works at keeping his thick accent just to irritate me! Interestingly, 2 of his partners in the practice were ESL (had only been in the U.S. for 1-2 years), and their accent was much less severe. These were younger docs, who in my opinion, made an effort to get with the program if they want to practice medicine here! I do believe that people can actually make themselves hold onto their accents. I have a friend who is from the south (She has lived near me in the SE part of the country for 20 years) and she continues to have a strong southern accent. She has not lived in the south since she was a small child. I tease her about it.
That is totally unacceptable business practice.
How different are internal medicine notes from family practice? nm
I had no MT training, either. Started at an Ortho practice, then to a nat'l. MT school is NOT a n
x
And yet YOU fuel the fires. Good grief, practice....

Also, it is not only about a birthday bonus, any bonus...sm
I am curious to see the average amount of different bonuses out there. Like anniversary, birthday, holiday, etc. bonuses. Remember back when you were an employee and had to go out to work for a company, during your birthday, anniversaries, certain special times of the year everyone would send around a card, sign it, cook a meal or something nice for you...I am just wondering if any company does that for you even though you don't actually have to dress and go to work physically. A simple poll...NOT something I will base on becoming an employee with...A SIMPLE POLL! Thanks for everyone who gave some input about their actual company and not a criticism...Just a simple question ....
No bonus here - I make my own bonus sm
by working more and having a big fat paycheck!
I have learned, in life, not to expect so as to not be let down or disappointed. I apply that reasoning to all aspects of life, including my career.
Although I agree that sometimes it is nice to have others think of you with a gift or bonus, in reality, it is not the norm working as an IC.
Christmas has become so materialized and commercialized, it really is sad for those who don't have as much as others to feel such a financial stress and burden to buy or give gifts.
So, I say make your own bonus and work a little more, get some extra lines in, and that would be your bonus!
Happy Holidays to All!
