Agree-I have worked for a lot of services
Posted By: sm on 2005-12-14
In Reply to: It varies. Once an MT is comfortable with the software and the account, and...sm - THer
and everyone wants certain things their own way, I took everything the QA people said and did it right then, no argument. I don't take that kind of stuff personally anyway, so if they tell me to put a space somewhere and take colons out somewhere else, I am fine with it. The only comments I really got were things that were specific to the software, so I felt really good about the whole experience.

Has anyone worked for prn Medical Transcriptiion Services, Inc?(sm)
I'm wondering what they use for a platform and what it entails. I see they have an ad on the job board but no general info as to what platform they use other than needing a USB foot pedal. Any info would be appreciated. TIA
Has anyone heard of or worked for ACES Up Medical Services? nm

Anyone out there work or worked for CBay Systems and Services?
I see this company is out of Maryland. I wondered if anyone has had experience or know anything about the company.
Thanks
They used to be McCoy Business Services. I worked briefly for them when I lived in Louisville. SM
I don't remember anything specifically negative about them. Just that the pay was kind of low and I didn't stay long because of that. The work was okay. Mostly local accounts from the Louisville area.
Sorry, the older I get, the shorter my memory. I can barely remember yesterday!
Totally agree on the ones that send it openly to all services. Tacky and
not professional. Also to those who make resumes out like a medical report, you can't read them if you are a recruiter. For one thing, you are not supposed to name the patient so not a good idea to substitute applicant's name there because it shows you do not know the rules. Second, you cannot tell anything about experience and it is difficult to read these medical report type of resumes. I am sure other recruiters get them too and I have no idea who gave MTs the idea for these totally ridiculous responses to advertisements.
I totally agree! I have worked both at
home and at a hospital and I found it true for both locations. I'm starting clinical next week and will only have to deal with doctors that are assigned to me. I already know who the doctors are, so I can get a feel for them. I'm tired of acute care and the BS these companies tell you. I've had enough ESLs to last me a lifetime! As soon as I exceed my quota and get into incentive range - they PLOP the ESLs on me so I don't make more money.
With clinical I know where I stand.
I too worked at SS once and totally agree with you.
The worst company by far. Remember when that SS manager came on and threatened a poster (you?) with legal action for posting a letter they received from the company? Awful, abusive and really, really dumb people working there. There are many better companies out there than this one and as bad as some are, SoftScript was the WORST.
I agree. I have worked for them almost 2 years. sm
We had a slowdown when one account decided they wanted to leave. They learned a hard lesson and came back, and things have been smooth ever since. Even with the slow-down, it was just that.... slow.
The work is good. The pay is good. It's on time. They leave you alone and let you get your work done (for me, the no BS issue was a major factor). QA is always available. The owners are kind, and there is NO ASR/VR.
There are people here who like to trash the company, but I strongly suspect it is one, maybe two, people with a vendetta. Otherwise, it's a good place to work.
Have to agree with you there. When I worked there, I never cared for the sm
sweety and hon terms that were thrown around. (I dislike it when waitresses call me hon, too -- makes me feel like I'm about 12 years old.) I also think the term awesome is overused. The Grand Canyon is awesome. I am not. And telling me you rock is not much compensation for having no work and no money.
That being said, I always liked D and everyone else. It just didn't pay the bills.
Weekly? Services are lucky if they get paid twice a month. Generally, services bill out to their

I agree, it's a great company! I have worked
at many places, but Transcend is the best. No company is perfect, but I have been very happy here.
I so agree. Worked w/them for short time sm
and one of the worst experiences of my career. Too many things to list. Horrid.
Agree exactly with Dano.. worked there but that does not sound familiar.
I honestly only worked there a month and left for personal reasons, but I will say that they were very nice and everyone was very helpful. I never encountered a moody person.
I agree. Extext is the platform I've ever worked with. nm

I agree. I was with MQ and made fabulous money and worked for
large universities. Finally, I had enough and left 2 years ago and never looked back. It wasnt easy at first learning new hospitals but I am still at that place and am fine. Actually, I like learning new hospitals every now and then, takes care of the boredom. Now dont get me wrong, the money isnt as great, but I cant take the boredom. I lose my focus when I get like that and get sloppy I think. You just dont watch as closely so every now and then you need a reality check and get pulled back into shape, at least I do. I focus much more closely on new accounts.
I agree, although I have worked all shifts and communication stinks no matter what.
I think emails get lost in the abyss. Sadly, your sending email to like eight people and still no answer. No thanks. I'm glad I am out of there. The only thing I did like was payment on time and DD. That's it. Very stressful job
info on AMD Services/AmeriMed Data Services
Please help me. Does anyone know anything about AMD Services or AmeriMed Data Services. I have been offered a position with them and need to know if they pay good, etc. before I accept a position with them. Thanks in advance.

I worked for a temp agency for 3 years..LOVED it. Just worked. No counts, no hassels, GREAT pay..
No benefits at the time. I even learned pathology while temping (8 months on that assigment). I loved the variety, the ability to say I'm not available such and such time. I'd do it again in a heartbeat if I didn't need benefits.
A company is ONLY supposed to verify that someone worked there, what dates they worked, whether PT o
and last date worked. It opens everyone up to a lawsuit if more is given, so most companies are told by their attorneys and business advisors to verify only.
No one has a right to a reference, only verification of employment.
It worked! Latest suggestion from DJ's email worked. nm

If I worked a longer day, I just put my regular shift, 3p-11p, or whatever. If I worked sm
an extra day, then I was told to fudge the hours around on the other days so it all came out to 40. I didn't really mind -- have learned not to expect overtime in this profession -- and I was happy to be able to work whenever I needed to get the lines I needed. However, them telling me directly to fudge on my time sheet would seem to be a violation of the wage and hour laws. I suppose it doesn't matter now if they do not even have enough work to make the minimum line count necessary. Several of the companies I thought were golden seem to have gotten a bit tarnished lately … sad.
Glad it worked for you. I have worked for companies
that were more reliable and paid without the delay I had. Maybe you started before they started doing that but it makes no difference. I TOO am a single parent.
You are not trying to argue? Sounds like you not only are trying to argue but you are just waiting for anyone to post anything about the co on here so you can just get out there and respond, which seems to be the way I have always noticed it. It's like all the MTs or whoever that work there are just waiting to respond.
This board is about the good points and bad points about companies. I am telling my experience.
The people were nice people though, but my experience was not a good one and I will not say it was.
I can go a week after the end of payday and even 10days later but that's it. Kids would starve.
Could be one of the MS services down there, too. nm

There are still some services (sm)
which treat ICs like real ICs and expect them to have their own equipment, know how to use encrypt files, use an FTP site, and the like. If you would like to email me with an idea of what sort of work you are looking for, I can probably suggest a couple of places to try.
Do you use Instant Text? That's your best bet if you want an Expander that works well with almost every transcription platform.
I don't like working on platforms that dole my work out a job or 2 at a time. I find I'm much more productive when I can download an allotment of files and prioritize them, doing the longer dictations and more difficult dictators when I'm freshest and saving the easy stuff for when I'm dragging a bit.
Anyone know anything about DTK Services in CT? nm

MRT Services
Yes, I have info. The reps that work the office are totally incompetant. They state that payment will be received within 30-45 days of the invoice for the services. It's not. The pay in trickles here and there, say they mailed checks when they didn't, and they are currently behind on payment several hundred dollars for my wife. We received two checks from them in two weeks, and then checks just stopped coming. She had not stopped working or had any significant gap in invoices, they're just not paying her. I am seriously irritated with them. I don't know anyone who needs a job, but doesn't need the money. They state they'll pay you in a particular amount of time, that's what they need to stick to. The defend themselves by saying their clients haven't paid. That is their problem! They try to pretend like it should matter to you that they haven't been paid, but the fact is, you're working for them, not their clients. They need to pay on the schedule they agreed to regardless. My wife now has to get a full time job because this isn't cutting it for paying our bills. Not only that, but when you agree to take a job at NOON, you don't get the job until 5 or 6 pm or even later!!! That makes a big difference in whether or not you can do the job. They claim it's because they have to digitize the jobs. How long can that possibly take? They make too many excuses, don't pay on a schedule, are constantly late, and whine about little details. They constantly try to correct your grammar when they're actually wrong (wife has a degree in English). So thanks a lot MRT, you people need to get it together in a big way. And teach you front office who deals with your typists to be a little more respectful of their time and money, stop making excuses for your mishandling of your role. I would not recommend MRT Services to anyone. If you need money, get an actual job, because MRT is a joke.

they match up ppl with what services
they need...ie filing bankruptcy, they will link you with those resources. Lawyer referrals for what you need, not just a lawyer. If you use those services, you get a discount of one sort or another. Counseling, weight control, other life problems are free. Depends on what you need them for, but they are supposed to be pretty good. The hospital I work for has them for things like child care, elder care, cousneling, life matters, etc. Hope this helps.
Ola Corporate Services
A most excellent company. The owner is very helpful and friendly. Great group to work for.
