Voting for a candidate who addresses the offshoring of American jobs is only a small wedge in the complex issue of globalization. One has to keep in mind that if Americans were more vocal, became more actively involved in the direction this country is headed, then we would have a voice. The problem is with us, the American public. We are a complacent society, and do nothing when we see the scales tipping to one direction. How many of us join active groups to protest, march, send letters or our representatives voicing or strong feelings about American jobs? Right - very, very few walk the walk, including myself. I try to join groups and advocate, but the danger is in the American people. It is our duty as citizens to become involved in our government when we see that balance is going astray. The globalization of jobs is too entrenched now. But that does not mean that if we cannot voice our strong voices and demand a system of checks and balances for jobs - in other words - Americans taking care of Americans first, and then give those jobs left over to third world countries. It is American to stand up and speak up against the govenment when it is not serving the people.
