I honestly did stop shopping at Walmart when all that came to light (along with that documentary about how they abuse their employees).
I really do TRY to practice what I 'preach' whenever possible, although I realize some people cannot and I certainly do not begrudge them their choices.
I think it's more a knife in the back to MDI-MD employees because of the owner's professed patriotism and how she would never stoop to offshoring, constantly reiterating her opposition to it, etc., then turned around and did the exact opposite (pure hypocrisy; she would 'never' support it until the price was right apparently).
I believe a lot of MDI-MDers went there specifically because they did not offshore. I think this makes it more disenheartening to those MTs, because now until they can line up something else, they are literally forced to contribute to the very thing they had protested - the offshoring of American work.
I see your point completely (kind of like those 'vegetarians' that buy leather shoes and bags, those are my favorites, lol!), but I really do stage my individual (yet ineffective) protest against Walmart by not patronizing them, and I'm sure a lot of other people have their own individual ways of protesting things to which they object as well.
