that will put more money in their coffers. That is all they care about now and all they cared about in the past. A useless organization.

ADHI endorses offshore, where you been? NM

ADHI NOT WELCOME HERE
ADHI turned their backs on us 4 years ago. I am not a member, nor are any of the other Initiative Volunteers - ADHI supports offshore, VR, EMR, and they threw us under the bus - they are run by MTSO's and administrators - NOT MTS.
We have made it quite clear to them this week that we will be a completely separate entity, will not accept support in the form of monies, materials or advice, and that MTs ONLY will vote for our choices, goals and boundaries.
USMLSU will not discriminate against MTs who are AHDI members currently, however, we would ask that they become completely informed about who and what AHDI stands for at this time. It's not your momma's AAMT.
All of our office space, equipment, and supplies are donated by non-biased, non-medical companies, office equipment suppliers who are quite accustomed to working with union personnel (shippers, etc.), and they are not intimidated by solidarity.
The Power of ADHI
IMO, is next to nil. They are not who decides that certification is a requirement. The industry would have to be on board with that. Since the MT industry can't agree on what a line is, what an MT is, how payment should be rendered, etc, and since it's heavily impacted by the dollar, it's not likely that you will see mandatory certification any time soon.
Health Information Technology positions will often request certification by AHIMA. It has taken AHIMA a long time to get where they are and ADHI is still years behind.
I have another profession and yes, for the most part, all fees including continuing education, as well as certifications fall to me. There are some employers who will reimburse or pay up front, however.
Look at how many ads REQUIRE CMT. And ask the question, who has not been hired because they didn't have it.
IMO, certification of offshore personnel is going to be designed to placate possible purchasers of those services by certifying legitimacy. You are more likely to find offshore certification required well before you see it here. (Which is unfortunate because there are many US MTs whose skills are severely lacking just as much as some offshore MTs.)
No, but they are ADHI Nazis and will use them to
rip us off when convenient.
is it true that ADHI is credentialling
overseas transcriptionists in places like India. I read this somewhere, but I cannot find where I read it. Thanks.
Only problem is, ADHI would find some way to get into it
and then would sell us all down the river again. What a bunch of crooks.
ADHI pushes lots of things
IMHO, none of them are useful to the MT. Don't forget, this is the organization that supports offshoring.
yes, thanks in large part to AAMT/ADHI for
x
MDI employees. I feel for you. One warning - you will get ADHI shoved down your throat
daily. I am so sick of that organization that has done nothing but help send more work offshore. But Transcend seems to love it. I will not be surprised when we are all required to become CMTs, even though it will not change the quality of work being done. It is just one more thing to have to buy, just to make the fat cat at the top fatter.
