Can be an excellent rate depending on the type of reports you will be transcribing, the quality of the dictation, and your skill level. Some other questions to ask: Do you need to purchase any new equipment for this position? Do you need a second phone line; if so, is it paid by the company? Is your Internet paid monthly? Regarding health insurance, I have found that I can purchase private insurance for nearly the same rate, if not cheaper, than any MTSO has ever offered me. It is worth checking into. Whether you are an employee or an IC without your own accounts, 9 cpl is just about the top of the pay scale these days.
