If you got 300 responses from here re union congrats.
Now all you have to do is standardize what makes a medical Transcriptionist a medical transcriptionist, get everyone in the industry to agree on that standardization, and then go for it!
So of those 300, I hope they are all the same kind of MT, with similar experience, education, goals, and expertise.
IOW, this is a profession that will NEVER EVER EVER be unionized because it can't agree on where to place a comma on most days, let alone agree that an MT with no education who kicks ass doing her work is the same as or better than an MT with college-taught skills who only wants to work on Mondays and Wednesdays while their children take naps.
Yes, I used to be an MTSO. I also USED to care about making things better in this profession. Until you find the cure for APATHY, it's all futile effort.
300 out of what 100,000? Most of whom really like their gig.
