1800 lines a day is not much when making
Posted By: 1600 to 1700+ lines straight typing. sm on 2005-11-23
In Reply to: I average 1800-2000 lines a day on BeyondTXT. - Really?
That is exactly why I left Transcend. They try to make it look like people can make double what they did straight typing, but it's a crock. Lots of new people were hired at 10 cpl, but you don't earn 10 cpl for editing on BeyondTxt. Calculate what your earnings would be with the rate reduction at 2000 lines per day, which when I left was 55% of normal line rate with no incentive, and calculate what your earnings would be at 1700+ lines a day at 0.085 cpl, but don't forget the incentive rate, which at 1701 lines would have been 0.0075 cpl. Which way is actually making more money?
I've heard that the current rate for editing is 60%, maybe it's gone up. I don't know, but even at 70% a person making 1700 lpd straight typing would have to produce 2210 lpd editing just to break even, and it still wouldn't even be breaking even because the person is still losing the incentive bonus. Transcend's pay restructure benefits Transcend because they no longer have to pay as many people the higher wages they did with straight typing. It still amazes me that so many can't see that. Even if the BT program was the best thing since sliced bread, which it is NOT because there are so many problems with it, there is no way to make more money with editing unless the person is a low to mediocre producer. If you normally produce anything more than 1200+ lpd, Transcend really isn't the company to make money with because there are so many other companies out there that pay much higher. It all depends on what you're looking for.

Ok - here ya go. I went from making $1800 per pay period to making just under $900.
Is that significant enough for you? Believe us, we are not just being negative with a grudge or anything like that. This is real! A month later, I was gone from there fast!
1800 lines is easily achieved. I average 300-340 lines per hour. nm

What are they asking for, 1500/1800 lines a day, or more? nm
s
1800 lines so far and have 3 more hours to go in my shift.
.
I know you need to type 1800 lines a day in order to get 11 cpl.
x
I can cut it, I do over 1800 lines in 7 hrs. I think I am the great employee. nm
.
I average 1800-2000 lines a day on BeyondTXT.
nm
From a 5/06 post, 8 cpl up to 1800 lines a day!!! Then you'll get 8.5. Not for this turtle
s
Make sure you ask what the required lines per day is. Could be 1200-1800 or higher. nm
s
Who here is required to type 1800 lines on a daily basis for FT work?
x
If you are making those lines with....
MQ consider yourself lucky!! I was never, ever to make that kind of a line count with them, even though going in I made that kind of a line count. I haven't worked for any of those other companies, but I make way more money now that I have left them and have been working for a hospital being paid by the minute rather than the line.
Where do you work making all those lines?
nm
making those hours/lines
I agree. It's a good company but a struggle to get in hours and make lines. It's has been like that for a while.
Transcend and making lines
Anybody else having to work all day to get a decent line count? I work on escription and have worked on escription before without issue. I can't figure out what the problem is???
I didn't say she was rude for making more lines
I said she was rude for implying that somehow it was the fault of those who have low volumes and that they should get a life, and I didn't bring up the email because I thought it was inconsiderate. I brought it up because it shows that the company isn't going to acknowledge something that isn't a problem. Besides, if you work there, you know for a fact that a lot of people are posting there about not having work. Are you calling all the people that posted there liars? Why would you come here and act like it's not happening at all? A lot of people that are working other shifts and sit all day long fishing for jobs only to end up using their PTO just to bring in what they're used to. Telling someone to get a life because they have it better than someone else is just plain rude.
Bayscribe-Anyone have trouble making lines?
I've worked on Bayscribe with 2 different companies now. Only have experience on one other platform (DocQscribe) as far as nationals go, but that was a few years ago now. Just seems like I type awfully long hours to make the same money on Baycribe that I did on DocQscribe. At first, I was thinking it was the accounts I was on, but now I am starting to doubt that as the reason. I am extremely familiar with my accounts, have normals, etc. Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience.
2000 lines a day at $0.18 cpl. Believe it.....Not original poster, another one making $$$$. nm
x
I don't find it slow - I don't have any trouble making my lines - nm
x
Well if I could do 500 lines per hour, I would be making 35.00 an hour. sm
nothing to sneeze at. More than fair for having a 2-year degree. Come on people, we are all acting like we expect 6-digit incomes! Whatev!
You too? I was always a 1800-2000 SM
line producer daily until I worked for them. 1200 and it was taking me 9-10 hours to get those 1200 lines. Something is wrong with their line counting.
I usually get 1800 to 2000
.
Gee, if you didn't do 1800, someone else could

My weekly paycheck was $1800 before taxes - IC work. sm
It can be done with own accounts working no more than 8 hours a day!
I have been a MT for four years and I make $1800.00 per month. I am happy with my pay at this
stage
May I ask what account you are on and what work type you are doing to get 1800 in five hours?
NM
Monthly, I bring in $3500-4000, about $1800 every 2 weeks.
I work about 5-6 hours a day, Monday through Friday. Sometimes I work a little extra if I didn't get the line count I wanted that day due to dictators, etc. Consistently, I bring in this much as an IC. It hasn't always been this way, you need to get to know your accounts and then it will come. I have the same accounts and dictators every day working for a national.
10 lines per minute = 1500 lines for 150 minutes - average. nm
x
I average 1200-1400 lines per day with a national, and am only getting around 600-800 lines per day.
It's been this way since the day before Thanksgiving. I've been doing this for almost 30 years now, and more often than from Thanksgiving until the new year is the slowest time of the year. I have some months where I am swamped with up to 2000 lines per day. I stash that little extra money, and take advantage of a handful of extremely slow days this time of the year to actually cook dinner, decorate for Christmas, or do Christmas shopping. I actually anticipate this slow time every year and have grown to enjoy the breathing time. Any time I have attempted to pick up extra work with another company to supplement these slow times, the minute I get adjusted to the new accounts, etc. I have no time to finish all of my work because my full time job with national gets slammed again. Hang in there if you can, and hopefully your work will pick up significantly around New Years.
They work with you to make sure you get the lines required or the amount of lines you want...
I have never had a problem getting more work
Minimum lines for FT used to be 60,000 keystrokes a day, about 925 lines. Pay was good. Just not a
s
Yes it is possible to double your lines. I cant type 460 lines an hour but I can get those with VR
x
Regular lines, not weighted lines
was what I got paid for....
12K lines payperiod is 6K lines a week.
nm
0.8 x 1000 lines = $80.00 - 0.8 x 1500 lines = $120.
It's not 1600 lines -- it's 16,000 lines...and
I've got my contract right here and have already gotten 2 checks and YES, I am getting 9.5 cpl base rate.
I don't know what other people are getting. Don't really care. I work for MY paycheck. Gosh.
Why would they "fix" lines? The more lines you
transcribe, the more you make, the more you make, the more you make. It wouldn't profit any company to put a lid on line counts.
they are making a lot of changes....
This is the first I heard of it also and I found out by logging on and all the sudden have all new work types. When I inquired as to why this happened and was told it was part of the "MQ compliance team" (whatever!). Later on that morning, I received an email stating that the first change made was to rank the MTs by classification: Level 1 - ER/clinic notes, Level 2 - ER, Clinic, Progress notes, H&Ps, DS, Consults, Cardiac notes, PT notes (everything except radiologys and OPs), Level 3 -everything including radiology and OPs.
how much are you making, cpl
what are you making, cpl. ect.
It is b/c OSi is making changes
Positive changes...and that scares the daylights out of everyone else. Yes, they have made a few mistakes, but who hasn't? I am with you here. I never had a single problem with OSi until I came to this board and then I found out just how sucky my job really is. So, why wasn't my job bad before? It is a pitty that I had to come here to find out that OSi employs only the worst. I make a lot of money and I don't leave my home. I have a wonderful AC too and I love the people that I have actually gotten to talk to on a day-to-day basis. What more could I ask for?
I'm currently making more than that, but have been
looking around, testing the waters. I ace the tests, they call 2 and 3 times offering me different things, but never enough money. I have even been offered 7 cpl as an IC. My point was that experience doesn't necessarily count for anything these days as no one wants to pay you for it.
Where are you making $120 a day, can I ask?
That's pretty good.
I will be making 9.5 cpl
They offered me 9.5 cpl right off when I was hired last week for an ER account.
making fun?
saying - Having a laugh - is not making fun - it is a comment - not like are they kidding, could not get a coffee for that etc. They do not belong here.
but I am sure if you are concerned the moderator can give you the information so you can apply.
I was making ...
17.00 a hour.
She's making more
than I am right now at my company and I have 15 years of experience and she has about 8 or 9. From what I have heard, it's at the top of the pay scale for most companies out there and you get paid half of your typing rate for editing which is a lot more than I make editing. All I can say is 15 years in this business, they pay very well and that is why I'm applying for a job with them.
Are you saying you re making 0.075 MORE than before, or
they are giving you that which is more than you made before? 0.075 more a line is hard to believe.
I was making 16/hr when i was QA
x
The ones who are making $125,000
aren't the ones I have a beef with, it's the ones with millions in income and they pay less taxes than someone making $40,000 to $50,000. $125,000 doesn't give anyone enough money to take advantage of the tax hedges and loop holes that go only to the wealthy, especially if they are mortgaged to the hilt.
Please....you'd be making those
wages no matter what. Find a profession that will pay you more and quit blaming those of us who do our job every day without complaint. You all seem to have excuses why you aren't making money. Find another job where you can sit there and work in your bathrobe, chat on the phone whenever, peruse the internet, throw some laundry in when you want, not have to pay for work clothes or gas, not have to deal with lousy weather or traffic and can be home with your children. And yet you still want to make the big bucks and get all the perks. Why not find something else that will pay you what you think you deserve? Yeah, my DH has a good job and pays the bills....sorry if that offends you. I do this job because I love it, not to become rich from it. Be thankful that you have a job during these lean economic times. Don't blame me because you have no ambition, drive, incentive or guts to do something else with your life.
Are you making more than 5 cpl? (nm)
