Yes, it was slow a couple weeks ago but started picking up last week.

Many hospitals and clinics do a 100% complete outsource of one or more departments. The dumping and overflow could very well be at a company level. How do I know? I am a Team Lead at a big company and we do 100% of the work for more than 50 facilities.

I hear good things about a company and the exact opposite from someone else. Then stay away from another, and a friend of my gets the position and has been there for 4 years. I missed out by listening to others on that one but listened on others about how good they were and now have had 8 jobs in 3-1/2 years. I AM NOT A JOB-HOBBER. I just want to work and be left alone except to get paid.

I have never noticed any kind of micromanagement. Ive had a few things come up during my shift....

Question on ADP pay statement for DQS work (sm)
My check this time was smaller than I anticipated. On the old system my weekend bonus lines were included under the bonus heading, this time the only thing there were the NS hour bonuses.
Before I call payroll I thought I had better find out if this bonus is now included somewhere else. Maybe we aren't even getting weekend differentials anymore. Any input before I call and make a fool of myself would be appreciated.
Guess we all can't be put on good accts. Gotta be there at the right time. Both of my accts.

My work has been fine and I think
they have more accounts coming on. If so, as we all know, you have to hire before you start the new accounts, so perhaps there is a slight over flow right now of MTs, waiting to be put on some new accounts. I also have had past experience that certain MTs are cut out for certain accounts. Perhaps the MTs who are low in work right now do not have experience in other areas that would otherwise be a backup until the work picks up again in their expertise. Hang in there. MDI is a good place to be and I should know, because I have been around a block more than a few times in this profession.

I am not sure what the poster meant, but perhaps they meant that patients' information is ripped off by others in the medical field?
Could you further expound please? Would be greatly appreciated.

i have steady work, on wav accts
with occasional lull's. i could work on secondaries, but usually do something around the house that begs my attention. All i can suggest is being able to be somewhat flexible with your hours, and/or talking to liaison about backup accts. as a last resort, a second company part-time i suppose. but in my opinion, MDI-MD is worth sticking with.

stat every blessed report they do, so I always get those immediately. It is TAT, but your STM can explain it in more detail.
I work for DSG now and the sound quality is just fine sm
now that they are not doing MQ subcontracting.
However, I'm wondering why they are hiring. Of course all companies want their reports back in the right TAT but why do they always have to over hire? I am sure they want weekend and night coverage. That's a problem I think with any company. Even at MQ we are being asked to change our working hours to afternoon, evenings and weekends.
I can only speak for myself, but my work flow is fine.

Companies with new accts or sufficient work?
When I left my last job, the work load was on the wane and recent posts seem to indicate this has not changed much. Any good news out there in this regard?
I work for JLG and they are just fine. They treat you well with small little perks.
So they pay by 65 characters. So does most everyone else. They pay on time and are reliable which is better than I can say for some others around here.
Then you should be fine at Diskriter if that's where you choose to work, Jeannal.
There are angry, negative people all over this board and, unfortunately, this line of work affords people the opportunity to job jump a lot more than most others. You will see negativity about any company on this business if you inquire on a message board, but the best thing to do is what is best for you.
Again, I'm very happy at Diskriter and would highly recommend them to anyone. I can only speak for myself.

I can tell you that these people are a nice group and pay is reliable ..don't know much about benefits..didn't stay long enough..but they did in fact pay me their hire-on bonus even after I quit them in less than a month's time. They still use Word Perfect DOS program and drown you in paper work ..way too complicated way of working in this day in time but they supposedly are in the process of upgrading their system (???) Again, I must say the people are great...just could not deal with the unnecessary stress involved in their system.
Just be flexible with your work types and accounts and you should be fine.

They offered me more than Transcend did, I work 2nd shift, work always availble, OT usually available. Staff is very responsive to questions, very helpful.
Someone else asking if you still need a Cphone & 2nd line to work for them. Any internet accts? nm

It is quite difficult and very tedious. People talking over one another, sometimes a lot of research on the internet that you would have to do just to find certain studies and authors. Quite frankly, I do not think $50 an audio hour is worth it. That breaks down to about $12/hour +/- $2/hour, depending on how good you are.
On the other hand, he is being quite generous with the pay, because there are transcription services that are paying $25-30/audio hour for the same kind of work!! That breaks down to $7-10/hour! And there are people that will do it!!
That is just my 2 cents
How are the MW accts that use the ExText? Good sound? Lots of work? Acute care or clinic? Thx. nm

The rate seems pretty low, at least compared to what I make, and I can tell you from my experience with this type of work, it is very tedious. Expanders aren't nearly as helpful as in medical transcription, so it's pretty much straight typing. On the other hand it is a nice change of pace from the medical aspect, but for what they want to pay, probably best suited to a newbie.
My information is kind of old, but I used to work for them part time sm
and it was a good company. The people were great, and they paid on time (weekly). The pay was rather low, but what I was doing was easy clinic work, so it kind of balanced out. Good luck!

I can see a lot of problems in this way of doing things. That sounds to me like everyone's work i
up for grabs so that would push those MTs that have their acccounts grabbed up go onto other accounts. If you think this doesnt affect quality I think you are totally crazy. There are a lot of people that simply cannot do a good job on accounts this way and they are very good MTs. Very bad way to do business. I am sure quality is hughly compromised. It is always always best for quality and line counts to keep people with what they know. Even the hospitals can see who is in there and they know there are a lot of unknown MTs in their accounts and if the quality goes down or a lot of work is tied up in QA those hospitals are gone to another company.
